    I have a WCF service endpoint exposed over wsHttp binding with zero security config. When i call the service from Java I get the following error: org.apache.axis2.AxisFault: Must Understand check failed for header http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing : Action at org.apache.axis2.engine.AxisEngine.checkMustUnderstand(AxisEngine.java:102) How do I set the mustunderstand header to false. I would prefer to do this in code than via configuration.

  • Need a Security Scenario for asp.net webservice

    I have developed a .Net 3.5 windows forms application. I also want to design a website that has a webservice with multiple Webmethods to query the database on the host machine. I want the webservice to be called ONLY through my winapp and my website! And I don't want any other people to be able to call and use my webservice but only some people who have access to the windows application that I have developed. I need a good security scenario for this! I truly appreciate anyone who can help me because this is my first experience of developing a webservice and I really need it to be as secure as I mentioned!

  • App with MVC Virtual application shared AuthCookie.

    I have a 3.5 ASP.Net WebForm parent application. The parent uses forms authentication. I have a MVC child virtual application, I would like to make it so the user logs in to the parent application, user then navigates to the virtual application by pressing a link on the parent. However every time I do this it goes to the login screen for the virtual application. Is there a web setting I should double check in Parent? Or Child? Is there an IIS setting that I should check? Should I be using a virtual directory instead of virtual application? I want the child to be able to access the Session[] from the parent. I would like the child app to use the same authCookie as the parent app.

    I am using jQuery with ASP.NET in a project. Instead of using ASP.NET Ajax, I am using jquery's ajax functions. Is there any security risk if I do that? I mean, since I am using jquery's ajax calls, no view state information will be passed to the server so that it can verify the page's authenticity (though it saves a lot of bandwidth..). I would also like to know what is the best/good practice here.

  • Addressing "Access Denied" Exception with WMI Calls

    I'm getting an exception with a message of "Access Denied" when executing against a WMI request. Some WMI requests appear to require higher security privileges than others. Ultimately my goal is to monitor process launches within the system and log. Regardless if there is a better approach, its now become a vendetta in getting this WMI approach to work. I've attempted the code at Security Tools - WMI Programming Using C#.Net and still receive the exception. If you copy the code found in the blog entry you can reproduce my issue. Another post on a similar topic can be found at link text but again, try the code and you'll the see the same security exception. How do I permit my code to execute these WMI requests? I'm running on Windows 7 Pro and VS 2010 in a new C# command line project.

    Hi All, I have an application and from this application I have to start another process by shutting down the current application and after the completion of the process again start the application. The flow is as follows, suppose I have an application app.exe, and another application another.exe, so i have to do following: 1) Start app.exe 2) Stop/shutdown app.exe and start another.exe from app.exe 3) When another.exe completes, stop/shutdown another.exe and start app.exe from another.exe Anyone please provide me some clue of how to do it ? I have compiled the class whitelist. I'd searched similar questions, but found only template that based on SecurityManager which AFAIK is deprecated. Can anybody give me a simple sample how to run code in sandbox based on security policies and AccessController?

  • IHTMLTxtRange.execCommand("Copy",false,null) fails due to IE settings

    We have a .Net application that is used for editing/rendering customized HTML documents. It is hosted in IE using the AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser controls. We proceed with navigating to "about:blank" page initially then we change the Document by writing our custom values into it. The problem we are facing is the call to IHTMLTxtRange.execCommand("Copy",false,null) is failing if we don't enable the IE Security Settings in the Internet Security zone (Scripting-Allow Programmatic Access to Clipboard ). In order to bypass the security setting ,I tried to point to a local html file initially while navigating. But this fails as soon as I modify the Document. I want to use the IHTMLTxtRange.execCommand("Copy",false,null) command so that I can customize our Copy/Paste operations. Is there any other way I can do this. Please share your ideas inorder to overcome this situation. Thanks. Sriram

Windows Server 2003 has been built to test the application. The database has been scripted across using MS SQL Server GUI. ASP.Net application services tables were created using an utility. The connection strings are stored in the web.config and connectionStrings.config. The application connects to the database successfully, but then it times out after 10 seconds.

    There are many approaches when it goes about running untrusted code on typical CPU : sandboxes, fake-roots, virtualization... What about untrusted code for GPGPU (OpenCL,cuda or already compiled one) ? Assuming that memory on graphics card is cleared before running such third-party untrusted code, are there any security risks? What kind of risks? Any way to prevent them ? (Possible sandboxing on gpgpu or other technique?) P.S. I am more interested in gpu binary code level security rather than hight-level gpgpu programming language security (But those solutions are welcome as well). What I mean is that references to gpu opcodes (a.k.a machine code) are welcome.

    Hello, I am writing an ASP.NET MVC application that combines a set of features from existing applications. The new application is suppose to use UI features and logic created (especially for this purpose) in the existing applications. For that reason I wanted to create in the existing applications some kind of a "blackbox" that I will be able to drop in my new application along with a matching connection string, and it will work independently, binding data on it's own. I thought about using partial views, but I am having trouble with passing the model data to it, since the controller of the new application should not know about the model of the existing applications. I can not use ASP.NET WebForms, since my application should be a "postback-less" application, and ASP.NET AJAX toolkit or frameworks alike are out of the question.     I'm implementing the Express Checkout? I have no problem with the first two steps:SetExpressCheckout and GetExpressCheckout,but met the "Security header is not valid" at DoExpressCheckout. The API credentials are the same! I've fixed it by changing the $environment to live in DoExpressCheckout.(The difference is that it'll use https://api.sandbox.paypal.com/nvp/ instead of https://api-3t.$environment.paypal.com/nvp) But why?   • Which technology should I choose for 3d globe web application

    Hello, i would like to ask you for an advice. I'm currently developing application in Spring consisting of Spring CRUD application as backend, SpringMVC application as tool for management and third part is where my problem lies as I need have application that renders 3d globe which is fed by data from backend from a data set selected by user (user may switch those at will). It has to be web application (though I would prefer not to implement this in flash/flex), composed of two main parts - main part is classic web GUI where user makes his choices and second part is 3d globe which renders the globe with selected set of data visualised. My question is, what do you think is the best option to implement this? Would be SpringMVC framework usable for this kind of application? I will be gratefull for any leads or directions, thank you.

    Hello, I use the Application.Idle event to handle toolbar status (enable/disable) etc. quite extensively. As I'm beta testing Norton AntiVirus 2011, it brought to my attention that my app that I'm developing triggered a high CPU usage warning on at least one CPU. Sure enough, I opened the task manager and watched one of the four CPU's (quad core system) go to near 100%. I thought Application.Idle was the way to handle things when the application wasn't performing CPU tasks. Why is Application.Idle spiking the CPU? Here is how I attach to the event: AddHandler Application.Idle, AddressOf OnAppIdle Been using Application.Idle for a long time, never knew it would have this issue. Using VS 2010 .NET 4 Thank you.

  • Ext.app.application object is erased after initialization

    I am trying to organize an existing extjs code in a more standard order (extjs wise). extjs version: extjs-4.0.2a. I've worked through the Extjs tutorial example and every thing went well. When I started working on the company's code I've notice there is no use of the application object there for I've added the Ext.application({...}); call. Ext.application({ name: 'FOO', appFolder: 'appFolderName', launch: function() { console.log('application was created'); } }); Upon loading the page I see the console.log output that is included in the "launch" function property - meaning the application object is created but when I look for it ("FOO" object) under the "window" object it is not there. Compering to the tutorial code the application object exist as a property of window. I encounter a few loading problems but I'm guessing the source of it all is this issue. What am I doing wrong? thanks.
