For example, I keep all curly braces on the same lines as their declaring class, method, etc, but when generating a controller, it completely disregards my settings.     Hello, I have come up with a rewriterule to to go to any page on my website without typing in the .php extension because it is automatically added to the url. The rule is: RewriteRule ^(\w+)/?$ /$1.php It takes anything you type in my index and adds .php to it, so you can put in http://sampardee.com/index and it pulls up index.php Now my question is how to detect when a user enters http://sampardee.com/index.php and change it to http://sampardee.com/index How could I do so with a rewriterule?

It does not need to be customizable but it must be able to recognize statements separated by either semicolons or newlines since this code has both. If it can put all statements on a separate line, consistently indent code blocks and consistently place braces I will be very happy.

    When the user clicks a logout button, I connect to a script that simply does this session_destroy(); session_start(); I thought this would be enough to reset all $_SESSION variables such as $_SESSION['logged'] and $_SESSION['username'] but when I load the page again, it automatically logs me in as if the session is still active.

    So I have an engine which defines some models and controllers. I want to be able to extend functionality of some models/controllers in my application (eg. adding methods) without loosing the original model/controller functionality from engine. Everywhere I read that you simply need to define controller with the same name in your application and Rails will automatically merge them, however it doesn't work for me and controller in engine is simply ignored (I don't think it's even loaded).

  • How to make an id auto_increment from where it last left off after a record delete?

    This isn't that big of a deal but I was wondering if it can be done. Right now when I insert a new record, the id field which is auto_increment and set as primary key increases it's value by one: id | first_name | last_name ------------------------------ 1 | John | Smith 2 | Jane | Doe But if I delete record 2, the next one I insert is going to have an id of 3. Is there any way to make it have an id of 2 automatically (without having to manually insert it)?
