• JQuery UI Datepicker date format issue with initial value

  I need to set the initial date for the date picker to 03/20/2010 in mm-dd-yyyyy format. I have done this <input id='datepicker' type='text' value='20/03/2010' /> But my problem is on clicking the field date picker populates with today's date as highlighed and no date selected, and up on selecting date value But when i change my input field like one below <input id='datepicker' type='text' value='03/20/2010' /> Date picker is populating March 20 as selected date and current date highlighted. But all in 'mm-dd-yyyy' format! I want show all dates in 'dd-mm-yyyy' format. How can I solve this?

  I have to come up with a way to get data from a SQL server table given it's month There's a smalldatetime type field called "date" in the "events" table and a field from it looks like this: 29/01/2003 17:00:00 It should be one among those that appear in the gridview when I select jan/03 in a given DropDownList control in ASP.NET. What would be the best way to do this? Assuming I only want to go as long as 10 years to the past, wouldn't making a dictionary be a good way? How do I change it so the top month is always the current, and each month another options appeaars in the dropdown ? It should be a common issue, so that shall not be a trick, but I want a good and clean way of doing this, and (since I'm new to asp.net) I myself would come up with something messy after a long time trying. • Improve mysql JDBC insert call

  i have a legacy Java system that every time it gets an order it makes a JDBC call to a stored procedure for each field in the order. Generally the stored procedure will get called 20 to 30 times for each order. The store procedure is just doing an insert into a table for each field. i need to improve the performance of this operation. one thought i had was to create an insert query string that does multiple inserts in one JDBC call. MySql supports a multiple insert string. INSERT INTO PersonAge (name, age) VALUES ('Helen', 24), ('Katrina', 21), ('Samia', 22), ('Hui Ling', 25), ('Yumie', 29) This has the advantage of only requiring one JDBC call per order. Any other ideas on how to improve performance?

• Handling update errors in multiple records in the TClientDataset's ReconcileError method

  I'm trying to use the ReconcileError event to allow the user to correct the data after an update error which occurred in a specific record among others. Example: I have a dataset with one field and 3 records, this field have a unique constraint on the database, then I change one value to conflict when it reaches the database, then I call ApplyUpdates on the Dataset. This will generate an error (violation of unique constraint) in the provider and abort the applyupdates process, returning raAbort in the Action var of the ReconcileError method. In the ReconcileError method I tryied to use: Action := HandleReconcileError(aDataSet, UpdateKind, E); ** EDIT ** After debugging and dumping the DataSet records which were returned from the server, I noticed that there are 2 records in this Dataset, the first is the Old record and the second have all the changes I made to the first record. I'm a bit confused, will I always get this DataSet with 2 records? I thought that it should have only one record with the Old/New values. Thanks.

  I have a field in a form to state the time duration of an event. Say, the event is to last 15 mins. So the field will have the following value: 00:15 If it is to last 1 hour: 01:00, etc. How can I create a Joda Duration object with the string "HH:MM"? Looking at Joda Time home page, it mentions that it is possible to create a Duration object from specified object using ConverterManager and DurationConverter respectively. My question is, how can I implement the above interfaces so that I can create a Duration object by passing the a "4:30" parameter? Thanks in advance, Lucas

• How can i open Thickbox from a form and feed it with data ?

  I have a simple search php script, within that script there is some html and javascript to make a search input field and a button. What i am trying to do is when someone enters a search, and presses submit, thickbox opens, and the results will be displayed in the thickbox. What i have so far is the search field and button, when i press submit, it briefly shows the thickbox, and than is overloaded by the result page, but than with no search results. The key has been inferred and the definition was created as a read-only table/view." And it decides that the CompletedDateTime field will be this entity primary key. We are using EdmGen to generate the model. Is there a way not to have the entity framework include any field of this view as a primary key? Thanks for help.

  I'm using the jQuery validate() plugin for some forms and it goes great. The only thing is that I have an input field that requires a special validation process. Here is how it goes: The jQuery validate plugin is called in the domready for all the required fields. When I just use the jQuery validate() plugin and click on the send button, the page goes automatically back to the first mistaken input field and shows the error type (not a number, not a valid email etc.). But with this new function, this "going-back-to-the-first-mistake" feature doesn't work, of course, because the validate() function sees it all good. I already added a rule for another form (about pictures upload) and it goes like this: $("#commentForm").validate({ rules: { foto34: { required: true, accept: "jpg|png|gif" } } }); Now my question is, how can I add the special validation function as a rule of the whole validation process? • multiple polls with email submit function

  I want to add a 4 sets of polls that each have around 4 radio buttons each for answers - then i would like to add an 'enter your email address' field below these polls. Finally I would like the submit button after the email field to 'submit' the data from the polls and the email address entered - so only one submit button. Just to make things even better, I would like some form of validation, that will not pass the form unless all 4 polls have a radio button pressed and a valid email. All this is then to go into a MySQL database. I have the email validation bit nailed - so thats fine.. it's the multiple polls bit thats getting me - I cannot get it to work?! Do i have to effectively add 5 forms? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Listing all shared memory segments used by a process on AIX5.3+

  I would like to find all shared memory segments used by a given process. I am especially interested in figuring out the shmid so i can use it in calls to shmctl(). On Solaris i would just read /proc/$PID/map to figure out that information (field pr_shmid). The contents of that file are defined by struct prmap_t in sys/procfs. AIX also has a /proc/$PID/map file. There is also a struct prmap but unfortunately it is missing the pr_shmid field. Any ideas how i can achieve this on AIX5.3+?

• DataRelation Insert and ForeignKey

  Guys, I have a winforms application with two DataGridViews displaying a master-detail relationship from my Person and Address tables. Person table has a PersonID field that is auto-incrementing primary key. Address has a PersonID field that is the FK. I fill my DataTables with DataAdapter and set Person.PersonID column's AutoIncrement=true and AutoIncrementStep=-1. I can insert records in the Person DataTable from the DataGridView. The PersonID column displays unique negative values for PersonID. I update the database by calling DataAdapter.Update(PersonTable) and the negative PersonIDs are converted to positive unique values automatically by SQL Server. Here's the rub. The Address DataGridView show the address table which has a DataRelation to Person by PersonID. Inserted Person records have the temporary negative PersonID. I can now insert records into Address via DataGridView and Address.PersonID is set to the negative value from the DataRelation mapping. I call Adapter.Update(AddressTable) and the negative PersonIDs go into the Address table breaking the relationship. How do you guys handle primary/foreign keys using DataTables and master-detail DataGridViews? Thanks! Steve EDIT: After more googling, I found that SqlDataAdapter.RowUpdated event gives me what I need. I create a new command to query the last id inserted by using @@IDENTITY. It works pretty well. The DataRelation updates the Address.PersonID field for me so it's required to Update the Person table first then update the Address table. All the new records insert properly with correct ids in place! • XIB-instantiated Object's IBOutlet is nil

  I have a XIB set up like in this screenshot: File's owner is my main window controller. The XIB is also in charge of creating an object that serves as the delegate for the MGScopeBar view. As you can see in the screenshot, the scope bar delegate has an IBOutlet for the search field so that it can return it as an extra view as part of the delegate process. The problem I'm having is that when the delegate object is queried for the accessory view, the IBOutlet NSSearchField is nil. I'm fairly certain this has something to do with the order that objects are created, IBOutlets wired, etc, but I'm just a little lost as to where in the process I can expect the search field to exist so that the scope bar delegate can reference it properly. • .NET: will Random.Random operate differently inside a static method

  I am having difficulty with the following code which is inside a static method of a non-static class. int iRand; int rand; rand = new Random((int)DateTime.Now.Ticks); iRand = rand.Next(50000); The iRand number, along with some other values, are being inserted into a new row of an Access MDB table via OLEDB. The iRand number is being inserted into a field that is part of the primary key, and the insert attempt is throwing the following exception even though the iRand number is supposed to be random: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key, or relationship. Change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate data, remove the index, or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try again. Could the fact the method is static be making the iRand number stay the same, for some reason?

  hi, I'm using Views for some nodes, and I want to display a different View title according to which taxonomy tags are selected in my filter. I already have taxonomy field for each node in my view. But this is not what I need. I basically need to display all the currently filtered tags on the top of my view. I was wondering if I can solve adding some line with php, how ? Thanks Update: I'm now using the Views Header field in Views settings, but it only processes html code, not php, so I cannot add taxonomy terms. Is it because of my CCK Editor settings ? thanks

  Hi I am using a navigation Controller on an iPhone app. I am able to pass data forward when I push a controller into the navigation stack but how do I pass data back when I pop the controller. What I am basically trying to achieve is the root navigation controller view displays a number of fields that can be edited. A user then clicks on one of the fields to be edited and a EditViewController is pushed onto the stack with the name of the field the user wants to edit. Now the users enters the new value of the field and presses save to pop the view controller. So how do I get the value from the editViewController back to the root navigation controller view?

I tried binding the function in the following manner: $( '#qs' ).liveUpdate( '#members' ); But when I do this, the function is called only ONCE when the page is loaded (I put in some console.logs in the function) but never after when text is keyed into the text field. I also tried calling the routine from the keyup() function of qs. $( '#qs' ).keyup( function() { $( this ).liveUpdate( '#members' ); }); This ends up going into infinite loops (almost) and halting with "Too much recursion" errors. So can anyone please shed some light on how I am supposed to actually implement this function? Also while you are at it, can someone kindly explain this line to me: var score = this.score(term); What I want to know is where this member method score() is coming from?   I have an XForm that has certain fields that may often be left blank (optional street address). Is there is technique to set a default value for that field, preferably a space (I am running into weird formatting issues with CSS). The html form way of value="" doesn't work, neither does setting a default value in the XML schema. • Wondering why DisplayName attribute is ignored in LabelFor on an overridden property

  Hi, today I got confused when doing a couple of <%=Html.LabelFor(m=>m.MyProperty)%> in ASP.NET MVC 2 and using the [DisplayName("Show this instead of MyProperty")] attribute from System.ComponentModel. As it turned out, when I put the attribute on an overridden property, LabelFor didn't seem to notice it. However, the [Required] attribute works fine on the overridden property, and the generated errormessage actually uses the DisplayNameAttribute.   What determines the default setting of the x87 FPU control word -- specifically, the precision control field? Does the compiler set it based on the target processor? Is there a compiler option to change it? Using Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition on an Intel Core Duo processor, the default setting for the precision control field is "01b", meaning double (53 bit) precision. I'm wondering -- why is the default not "11"b, or extended (64 bit) precision? (I know I can change it using _controlfp.)

• Paypal subscription API - transaction variables not POSTed

  I am writing a payments system based around paypal, I am using the HTML 'API'. I am passing the following form fields to PayPal: 'rm' = 2 'return = http://www.example.com/payment-handler.php?token=sometoken Where 'token' is a token I generated. According to the paypal documentation, a return method (rm) of 2 indicates to Paypal that the transaction data be posted back to the callback url using the POST method. When processing items using 'buy_now' buttons, the transaction items are correctly POSTed to my callback url (payment-handler.php), but for 'subscribe' operations, although the callback url is called, no POST data is sent to the url, and also, the 'token' field is missing. Instead, there is a parameter called 'auth'. I cant see anything in the paypal docs about a 'auth' field - so I dont know whats generating it and if I can reliably using it. Can anyone shed some light on this?

• How do I persist form data across an "access denied" page in Drupal?

  We're building a small sub-site that, on the front page, has a one input box form that users can submit. From there, they're taken to a page with a few more associated form fields (add more details, tag it, etc.) with the first main form field already filled in. This works splendidly, thus far. The problem comes for users that are not logged in. When they submit that first form, they're taken to a (LoginToboggan based) login page that allows them to login. After they login, they redirect to the second form page, but the first main form field isn't filled in -- in other words, the form data didn't persist. How can we store that data and have it persist across the access denied page?

• Curser control using Masked Text Box in C#

  I seem to have asked this question twice ! I kept getting a message saying New Members can only add a new Question every 20 minutes, try again later !!! Sorry for the duplication ! Please ignore this one !! Thanks. In my app in C# I have several input fields that I need to capture. I need them to be of specific sizes and type and I have used masked Text Boxes for these. I have fields like name which is 20 text charachters long, and a certificate number which is 5 numeric characters with a preceding C etc. This works fine except with I click on a field with the mouse, the cursor does not go to the begining of the fild, or the end of any input text. Is there a way of allowing this to happen using Masked Text Box or will I have to use normal Text Box and do all the field validation manually ?
