  • GWT - occasional com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.SerializationException

    - by user214984
Hello we are haunted by occasional occurences of exceptions such as: com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.SerializationException: Type 'xxx' was not assignable to 'com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.IsSerializable' and did not have a custom field serializer. For security purposes, this type will not be serialized.: instance = xxx at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.impl.ServerSerializationStreamWriter.serialize(ServerSerializationStreamWriter.java:610) at com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.impl.AbstractSerializationStreamWriter.writeObject(AbstractSerializationStreamWriter.java:129) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.impl.ServerSerializationStreamWriter$ValueWriter$8.write(ServerSerializationStreamWriter.java:152) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.impl.ServerSerializationStreamWriter.serializeValue(ServerSerializationStreamWriter.java:534) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.encodeResponse(RPC.java:609) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.encodeResponseForSuccess(RPC.java:467) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.invokeAndEncodeResponse(RPC.java:564) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServlet.processCall(RemoteServiceServlet.java:188) at de.softconex.travicemanager.server.TraviceManagerServiceImpl.processCall(TraviceManagerServiceImpl.java:615) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServlet.processPost(RemoteServiceServlet.java:224) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.AbstractRemoteServiceServlet.doPost(AbstractRemoteServiceServlet.java:62) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:710) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:803) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:290) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at org.jboss.web.tomcat.filters.ReplyHeaderFilter.doFilter(ReplyHeaderFilter.java:96) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:235) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:230) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:175) at org.jboss.web.tomcat.security.SecurityAssociationValve.invoke(SecurityAssociationValve.java:179) at org.jboss.web.tomcat.security.JaccContextValve.invoke(JaccContextValve.java:84) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve.invoke(StandardHostValve.java:127) at org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:102) at org.jboss.web.tomcat.service.jca.CachedConnectionValve.invoke(CachedConnectionValve.java:157) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngineValve.invoke(StandardEngineValve.java:109) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:262) at org.apache.coyote.ajp.AjpAprProcessor.process(AjpAprProcessor.java:419) at org.apache.coyote.ajp.AjpAprProtocol$AjpConnectionHandler.process(AjpAprProtocol.java:378) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.AprEndpoint$Worker.run(AprEndpoint.java:1508) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) The application is normally running fine. The indicated class implements Serializable (the whole object graph). So far the only patterns / observations are: we seem to have the issue only when the application is used inside an iframe the problem seems to happen when a new version of the application has been deployed running firefox in privacy mode (disabling all caches etc.) doesn't fix the problem Any ideas? • How does Google App Engine precompile Java ?

    - by Thilo
App Engine uses a "precompilation" process with the Java bytecode of an app to enhance the performance of the app in the Java runtime environment. Precompiled code functions identically to the original bytecode. Is there any detailed information what this does?

  • Google App Engine - Figure out the time the current request reached the app engine

    - by Spines
Is there a way I can figure out the time the current request reached the app engine? For example a user might make a request to my app, but due to app engine latencies my code might not start handling the request until one second later, is there a way I can figure out that the user has already had to wait one second? The reason I want to know how to do this is because I want to do different things based on if the user already had to wait. If the user already had to wait a significant amount of time I will just serve them a page out of the cache, if the user hasn't had to wait yet then I will serve them a page which takes a while to render.

  • Google maps API : custom infowindow : V2 : Input element not clickable : G_MAP_FLOAT_PANE

    - by PlanetUnknown
I'm trying to make a custom infowindow. Version = 2. I have added my DIV to the map as follows - $("#infoWindowClass").appendTo(map.getPane(G_MAP_MARKER_MOUSE_TARGET_PANE)); The infoWindowClass is - #infoWindowClass { position:absolute; padding:10px; height: 155px; width: 225px; background-color: #E7F8CD; color: #3F3F3F; border:0.5px solid #8D8D8D; font-size:80%; } Per documentation, this is above all other DIV layers. This DIV has two input fields, however I can't click on any of them. I manually added the z-index to 990 for this DIV but the input fields are still not clickable. Any pointers ?

  • Javascript errors from Google Adsense

    - by Arjun
Hey there, On several of my adsense running sites, I have been getting the following errors: Unable to post message to [http://]googleads.g.doubleclick.net. Recipient has origin http://www.anekdotz.com. Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL [http://]www.anekdotz.com/ from frame with URL [http://]googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-9099580055602120&output=html&h=250&slotname=9210181593&w=300&flash=10.0.42&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.anekdotz.com%2F&dt=1269901036429&correlator=1269901036438&frm=0&ga_vid=711000587.1269901037&ga_sid=1269901037&ga_hid=654061172&ga_fc=0&u_tz=-240&u_his=2&u_java=1&u_h=900&u_w=1440&u_ah=878&u_aw=1436&u_cd=24&u_nplug=10&u_nmime=101&biw=1365&bih=806&eid=44901212&fu=0&ifi=1&dtd=153&xpc=Xkfk1oufPQ&p=http%3A//www.anekdotz.com. Domains, protocols and ports must match. (from the Chrome javascript console) The ads seem to show properly and it doesn't affect my native javascript code. However sometimes these errors seem to slow down page loading. How can I fix this problem? (I modified the URLs to let me post this as I'm a new user)

  • XHR readyState = 4 but Status = 0 in Google Chrome Browser

    - by Jay
Hello i'v got a strange Problem with an AJAX call on my site. I make a simple AJAX call to a Script on my site. But the AJAX call fails with readState=4 and Staus = 0. There's no cross domain problem because the script i want to call is on my server. $.ajax({ type:"GET", url: 'http://mydomain.com/test.php', success : function(response){ console.log(response); }, error : function(XHR){ console.log(arguments); } }); I 've googled a lot of sites but there seems to be no solution for that!

  • jQuery Thickbox and Google Maps Extinfowindow

    - by cdonner
I am trying to place a link into an Extinfowindow that obtains its content through an Ajax call. So, I click on a push pin marker, up pops the Extinfowindow with my ThickBox link in it, and when I inspect the DOM for the entire page at that point, I can see the element correctly showing up with the "thickbox" class. The link looks like this <A class="thickbox" title="" href="http://localhost:1293/Popup.aspx? height=200&width=300&modal=true">Modal Popup</A> However, when I click on it, it does a full refresh and the target page loads in the browser, not in a popup. It seems that when the <A> for the Thickbox control is injected into the DOM after the initial load, jQuery is no longer able to do its magic and intercept the anchor link request. Does anybody have thoughts about how to do this better?

  • Tracking Google Analytics events with server side request automation

    - by Esko
I'm currently in the process of programming an utility which generates GA tracking pixel (utm.gif) URL:s based on given parameters. For those of you who are wondering why I'm doing this on the server side, I need to do this server side since the context which I'm going to start tracking simply doesn't support JavaScript and as such ga.js is completely useless to me. I have managed to get it working otherwise quite nicely but I've hit a snag: I can't track events or custom variables because I have no idea how exactly the utme parameter's value should be structured to form a valid event or var type hit. GA's own documentation on this parameter isn't exactly that great, either. I've tried everything from Googling without finding anything (which I find ironic) to reverse engineering ga.js, unfortunately it's minified and quite unreadable because of that. The "mobile" version of GA didn't help either since officially GA mobile doesn't support events nor vars. To summarize, what is the format of the utme parameter for page hit types event and custom variable?

  • Reverse geocoding with Google Maps API

    - by user296516
I have found this code for reverse geocoding: var point = new GLatLng (lat[1],long[1]); var geocoder = new GClientGeocoder(); geocoder.getLocations (point, function(result) { alert (lat[1]+' '+long[1]+' '+result.address); }); But it pops the alert, saying that result.address is 'undefined'. Any ideas, what could be the problem?

  • overriding enumeration base type using pragma or code change

    - by vprajan
Problem: I am using a big C/C++ code base which works on gcc & visual studio compilers where enum base type is by default 32-bit(integer type). This code also has lots of inline + embedded assembly which treats enum as integer type and enum data is used as 32-bit flags in many cases. When compiled this code with realview ARM RVCT 2.2 compiler, we started getting many issues since realview compiler decides enum base type automatically based on the value an enum is set to. http://www.keil.com/support/man/docs/armccref/armccref_Babjddhe.htm For example, Consider the below enum, enum Scale { TimesOne, //0 TimesTwo, //1 TimesFour, //2 TimesEight, //3 }; This enum is used as a 32-bit flag. but compiler optimizes it to unsigned char type for this enum. Using --enum_is_int compiler option is not a good solution for our case, since it converts all the enum's to 32-bit which will break interaction with any external code compiled without --enum_is_int. This is warning i found in RVCT compilers & Library guide, The --enum_is_int option is not recommended for general use and is not required for ISO-compatible source. Code compiled with this option is not compliant with the ABI for the ARM Architecture (base standard) [BSABI], and incorrect use might result in a failure at runtime. This option is not supported by the C++ libraries. Question How to convert all enum's base type (by hand-coded changes) to use 32-bit without affecting value ordering? enum Scale { TimesOne=0x00000000, TimesTwo, // 0x00000001 TimesFour, // 0x00000002 TimesEight, //0x00000003 }; I tried the above change. But compiler optimizes this also for our bad luck. :( There is some syntax in .NET like enum Scale: int Is this a ISO C++ standard and ARM compiler lacks it? There is no #pragma to control this enum in ARM RVCT 2.2 compiler. Is there any hidden pragma available ?

  • Force initial Google Drive sync with a non-empty folder?

    - by Terrance Shaw
I upgraded my iMac with an SSD last night and restored from a Time Capsule backup. Everything is now working substantially zippier and overall better, with the exception of one thing: Google Drive refuses to continue to sync with the Google Drive folder that it'd been using before the upgrade, and I ultimately ended up having to just delete the folder and let it resync from scratch to get past its stubborn error (alternatively, I suppose I could've simply moved the contents, set the path to the now-empty folder, then moved them back). Is there any way to get past this particular issue (for future reference), or is it something that Google put in place to ensure that a new user doesn't go and specify their root drive as the backup destination?

  • Advice needed on best and most efficient practices with developing google apps application...

    - by Ali
Hi guys , I'm getting my feet wet with developing my order management applications for integration with google apps. However there are certain aspects I need to take into consideration prior to proceeding any further. My application is such that it would upload documents to google documents and store contacts in google contacts. It requires such that a single order can have a number of uploaded documents associated with it as well as some contacts associated with it. MY question however is what would be the most efficient way to implement this. I could keep key tables for both contacts and documents which woudl contain just an ID and link to the documents/contacts or their respective identification id on google. Or I could maintain an exact replica of the information on my own database as well as a link to the contact on google. However won't that be too redundant. I don't want my application to be really slow as I'm afraid that everytime I make a call to google docs to retrieve a list of documents or google contacts it would be really slow on my application - or am I getting worried for no reason? Any advice would be most appreciated.

  • Rails & ActiveRecord: Appending methods to models that inherit from ActiveRecord::Base

    - by PlankTon
I have a standard ActiveRecord model with the following: class MyModel < ActiveRecord::Base custom_method :first_field, :second_field end At the moment, that custom_method is picked up by a module sent to ActiveRecord::Base. The functionality basically works, but of course, it attaches itself to every model class, not just MyModel. So if I have MyModel and MyOtherModel in the same action, it'll assume MyOtherModel has custom_method :first_field, :second_field as well. So, my question is: How do I attach a method (eg: def custom_method(*args)) to every class that inherits from ActiveRecord::Base, but not by attaching it to ActiveRecord::Base itself? Any ideas appreciated.

  • Google Chrome: JavaScript associative arrays, evaluated out of sequence

    - by Jerry
    Ok, so on a web page, I've got a JavaScript object which I'm using as an associative array. This exists statically in a script block when the page loads: var salesWeeks = { "200911" : ["11 / 2009", "Fiscal 2009"], "200910" : ["10 / 2009", "Fiscal 2009"], "200909" : ["09 / 2009", "Fiscal 2009"], "200908" : ["08 / 2009", "Fiscal 2009"], "200907" : ["07 / 2009", "Fiscal 2009"], "200906" : ["06 / 2009", "Fiscal 2009"], "200905" : ["05 / 2009", "Fiscal 2009"], "200904" : ["04 / 2009", "Fiscal 2009"], "200903" : ["03 / 2009", "Fiscal 2009"], "200902" : ["02 / 2009", "Fiscal 2009"], "200901" : ["01 / 2009", "Fiscal 2009"], "200852" : ["52 / 2008", "Fiscal 2009"], "200851" : ["51 / 2008", "Fiscal 2009"] }; The order of the key/value pairs is intentional, as I'm turning the object into an HTML select box such as this: <select id="ddl_sw" name="ddl_sw"> <option value="">== SELECT WEEK ==</option> <option value="200911">11 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200910">10 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200909">09 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200908">08 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200907">07 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200906">06 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200905">05 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200904">04 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200903">03 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200902">02 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200901">01 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200852">52 / 2008 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200851">51 / 2008 (Fiscal 2009)</option> </select> ...with code that looks like this (snipped from a function): var arr = []; arr.push( "<select id=\"ddl_sw\" name=\"ddl_sw\">" + "<option value=\"\">== SELECT WEEK ==</option>" ); for(var key in salesWeeks) { arr.push( "<option value=\"" + key + "\">" + salesWeeks[key][0] + " (" + salesWeeks[key][1] + ")" + "<\/option>" ); } arr.push("<\/select>"); return arr.join(""); This all works fine in IE, FireFox and Opera. However in Chrome, the order comes out all weird: <select id="ddl_sw" name="ddl_sw"> <option value="">== SELECT WEEK ==</option> <option value="200852">52 / 2008 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200908">08 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200906">06 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200902">02 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200907">07 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200904">04 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200909">09 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200903">03 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200905">05 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200901">01 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200910">10 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200911">11 / 2009 (Fiscal 2009)</option> <option value="200851">51 / 2008 (Fiscal 2009)</option> </select> NOTE: This order, though weird, does not change on subsequent refreshes. It's always in this order. So, what is Chrome doing? Some optimization in how it processes the loop? In the first place, am I wrong to rely on the order that the key/value pairs are declared in any associative array? I never questioned it before, I just assumed the order would hold because this technique has always worked for me in the other browsers. But I suppose I've never seen it stated anywhere that the order is guaranteed. Maybe it's not? Any insight would be awesome. Thanks.

  • google appengine local datastore integration testing with spring

    - by mirror303
Hi all, I want to write some integration tests to see how my spring-managed DAO's behave when talking to the appengine datastore. Following the spring manual I will be providing my test-classes with the proper annotations: @RunWith(SpringJUnit4ClassRunner.class) @ContextConfiguration(locations = { "classpath:applicationContext.xml" }) After a lot of browsing I found this blog post dating back to august '09 from somebody doing exactly what I want to achieve. It involves writing a TestEnvironment class that implements ApiProxy.Environment plus talking to ApiProxyLocalImpl. However, if I look at the current docs (for version 1.3.1), it seems that this has been replaced by newing an instance of the framework provided LocalDatastoreServiceTestConfig which is passed to a LocalServiceTestHelper. It is too bad that the appengine docs don't show an example how to do this with JPA because then the spring wiring would be trivial. Trying to follow the route outlined in the blog posting has me running into a compiler messages telling me that classes such as ApiProxyLocalImpl are not visible by me. Hence, there must be a new way of doing it, which probably involves the LocalServiceTestHelper. My question: Does anybody know how? I know I will need to configure an EntityManagerFactory and provide it with the Datastore connection somehow... but how? :)

  • Multi-base conversion - using all combinations for URL shortener

    - by Guffa
I am making an URL shortener, and I am struggling with the optimal way of encoding a number (id) into a character string. I am using the characters 0-9,A-Z,a-z so it will basically be a base-62 encoding. That is pretty basic, but it doesn't make use of all possible codes. The codes that it would produce would be: 0, 1, ... y, z, 10, 11, ... zy, zz, 100, 101, ... Notice that the codes 00 to 0z is not used, the same for 000 to 0zz, and so on. I would like to use all the codes, like this: 0, 1, ... y, z, 00, 01, ... zy, zz, 000, 001, ... It would be some combination of base-62 and base-63, with different bases depending on the position... Using base-62 is easy, for example: create procedure tiny_GetCode @UrlId int as set nocount on declare @Code varchar(10) set @Code = '' while (@UrlId > 0 or len(@Code) = 0) begin set @Code = substring('0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz', @UrlId % 62 + 1, 1) + @Code set @UrlId = @UrlId / 62 end select @Code But I haven't yet managed to make a multi-base conversion out of it, to make use of all the codes.
