    I want to be able to do the following: get '/:slug' do haml :page end get '/administration' do haml :admin end Is there a way that I can have get '/:slug' do have an exception for /administration? I realize you can do this with if else statements: get '/:slug' do if params[:slug] == 'administration' haml :admin else haml :page end end But that isn't very clean looking. Is there a way to have an exception to routes?

  • ASP.NET MVC2 - usage of LINQ-generated class (validation problem)

    There are few things not clear to me about ASP.NET MV2. In database I have table Contacts with several fields, and there is an additional field XmlFields of which type is xml. In that field are stored additional description fields. There are 4 classes: Contact class which corresponds to Contact table and is defined by default when creating LINQ classes ContactListView class which inherits Contact class and has some additional properties ContactXmlView class that contains fields from XmlFields field ContactDetailsView class which merges ContactListView and ContactXmlView into one class and this one is used to display data in view pages ContactListView class has re-defined some properties from Contact class (so that I can add [Required] filter used for validation) - but I get warning message: 'ObjectTest.Models.Contacts.ContactListView.FirstName' hides inherited member 'SA.Model.Contact.FirstName'. Use the new keyword if hiding was intended. ContactDetailsView class is also used in a form when creating new contact and adding it to database. I am not sure if this is correct way, and the warning message confuses me a bit. Any advise about this? As I understand, first, a shared lock is set on A (I am talking just about table A now), then, after this lock is released, an exclusive lock is obtained to insert the data. The question is: is it possible, that another transaction will get the exclusive lock on table A, just before the current transaction takes its exclusive lok on A?

    I'm trying to disable logging of caching in production. Have succeeded in getting SQL to stop logging queries, but no luck with caching log entries. Example line in production log: CACHE (0.0ms) SELECT merchants.* FROM merchants WHERE merchants.id = 1 LIMIT 1 I do not want to disable all logging, since I want logger.debug statements to show up in the production log. Using rails 3.2.1 with Mysql and Apache. Any suggestions?

I understood it as this until I tried it: Either A) def protocol(port): if port == "443": if bool("https://"): return True elif bool("http://"): return True return False Or B) def protocol(port): if port == "443": return True + "https://" else: return True + "http://" Is this some sort of special case in Python, or am I completely misunderstanding how statements work?

    I need to get a WHERE clause to only evaluate certain statements. something like: WHERE field_a = field_b AND (CASE WHEN <PARAM>type</PARAM> = 5 THEN {field_c = 1 OR field_c = 2} WHEN <PARAM>type</PARAM> = 6 THEN {field_c = 3 OR field_c = 4} ELSE field_c = <PARAM>type</PARAM> so that when the Param type = 5, it only checks if field_c = 1 or 2.   • Any reason to clean up unused imports in Java, other than reducing clutter?

    Is there any good reason to avoid unused import statements in Java? As I understand it, they are there for the compiler, so lots of unused imports won't have any impacts on the compiled code. Is it just to reduce clutter and to avoid naming conflicts down the line? (I ask because Eclipse gives a warning about unused imports, which is kind of annoying when I'm developing code because I don't want to remove the imports until I'm pretty sure I'm done designing the class.)

Does there exist a method in the .NET Framework that will display an object formatted using DebuggerDisplayAttribute (or fall back to using .ToString() if no DebuggerDisplayAttribute is defined)?
