    Hi guys, I'm running on Windows 7 and I've a problem with my app at boot. Within my app I use some threads and external dll (sqlite3.dll, etc...). I've included these lines at first of my start.exe file: RegistryKey rkApp = Registry.CurrentUser.OpenSubKey("SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run", true); String p = System.Environment.CommandLine.Replace("vshost.",""); String pp = p.Remove(p.Length-1); rkApp.SetValue("MyAPP", pp); If I start my app manually from exe file (or with VisualStudio) works correctly. If I start my app on reboot, MyApp crashes after few seconds. Why I've this problem?

    So I have a function in unmanaged c++ that gets called when some text happens to have "arrived": #using <MyParser.dll> ... void dump_body(const unsigned char *Body, int BodyLen) { // Need to pass the body to DumpBody, but as what type? ... lMyParser::Parser::DumpBody(???); } DumpBody is a function defined in a C# DLL that should take one parameter of type? Body holds an array of characters (text) of length BodyLen. There's obviously some marshalling to be done here but I have no idea how. Please help.

I know ttf format is very very complicated to create, so i want to create fon file (raster bitmap font). I understand it can be created by create a dll and rename it from *.dll to *.fon, or something similiar. No code sample or any knonledge about it in the web!!!!   • Problem using a costum server control in a aspx

    Hi guys, i am having a issue. I already developed one class (my custom gridview) and i want use it on a .aspx That class is defined in app_code and compiled to the dll of the project. namespace MyCostumControls{  public class DropDownPagingGridView : GridView{ ... I already registered the control on the aspx page using <%@ Register Namespace="MyCostumControls" TagPrefix="ctrl" % and i can use in the page and works ok.. But i'm watching one problem. That class contains methods defined by me, than when i try to call them in code-behind sayd to me than they're not defined. In designed i don't see the reference to MyCostumControls, and when i try declare one field using protected global::MyCostumControls.MyCostumControls ddl_gv_errors, i cannot access to MyCostumControls namespace, Is because he's compiled to the project dll? I can access to all namespaces than are not contained in app_code. Solutions? Apreciate. Thanks

[DllImport(@"MyLibrary.dll", SetLastError = true)] public static unsafe extern int RegisterPerson([MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPTStr)]string szName) Not sure why this is not working. My C++ library is compiled as Multi Threaded DLL with MultiByte encoding. Any help would be appreciated. I saw this is a common problem online but no answers lead me to a solution for my problem.

  • Any way to make GetTypes() less brittle.

    I'm iterating through all the types in GAC, GAC_32 and GAC_MSIL looking for specific types, fundamentally to match those using clauses in my source code, so when I compile the source. I'll know exactly what assembly dll's to provide. I'm getting all the file names from each of those directory and applying GetTypes to each assembly in turn and comparing the returned types against my using list. But the problem I have is that GetTypes() keeps crapping out with an exception, when it can't load the types from a loaded assembly. Is their any way to make GetTypes() less brittle. For instance, when parsing this assembly on my box, {blbmmc, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35}, it craps out. Any suggestions welcome. I know this is a fairly lengthly process, but I figure i'll eventually use a subset of common assemblies to search, or possibly cache the list of types-assembly dll name at program start. Thanks.

    I have installed Adobe CS6 on Windows 8 and get the error "0xc000007b" every time I open open Adobe After Effects. All other Adobe software, including Photoshop and Premiere Pro, work perfectly. I have looked online extensively but have not found any solutions. What can I try/do to resolve this error?     I was looking for root kits following these instructions http://computersight.com/software/how-to-manually-remove-rootkit/ and saw this in my boot log: Loaded driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\awhk9fmc.SYS I tried to search for that filename in Google but there was absolutely nothing found. I tried to look at the file on the disk but could not find it. Nearly every other file is there. I even tried to boot in Windows 98 and mount the NTFS and see the file, but it still wasn't there. I ran a full scan with Microsoft Security Essentials but it found nothing. When I rebooted, I saw this line instead: Loaded driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\a6n163gl.SYS How can I remove this? How can I find out what it does? How can I find out when it was put in? How can I find out who wrote it?     I installed Windows 7 and Windows 8 in EFI mode on a hard disk some days ago. Today, the bootloader got missing/corrupted. I currently have the Windows 8 installer on a flash drive and tried using the Automatic Repair option to repair the bootloader but it didn't do anything. The Startup Repair option is also missing in the Windows 8 installer. How I can repair/recreate the EFI bootloader from the Command Prompt? BCDEDIT returns the following message: The requested system device cannot be found.

  • Repairing yum's repositories on a RHEL5.

    I am using RHEL5 and yum is missing many packages, such as apache, php, and all php libraries . I have added the rpmforge repository, but i am still missing these packages. This is an i686 machine and there might not be many i686 packages available, I think that if i force an i386 i'll have serious problems. How do I make sure I have a large number of compatible packages on a RHEL5 system? I didn't install this system, is it normal for RHEL5 to have virtually no useful packages in yum? How do RHEL5 administrators use yum without introducing conflicts with currently installed packages? Should I ditch yum and use apt? Thanks!

  • What's required to configure Ubuntu to use a specific DNS server?

    I've setup two Amazon EC2 instances, both running Ubuntu Server. One is configured as a DNS server running bind9, which will be used to allow EC2 instances to communicate with each other based on hostname rather than IP, since their private IPs may change. I think I have the DNS server setup correctly. I want to use the second EC2 instance to test the DNS server. Using Webmin, I've added the DNS server's private IP to the client's DNS Servers list and added the domain to the Search Domains list. I did have to edit /etc/dhcp3/dhclint.conf to make my changes stick. After reboot, I expected I'd be able to ping or nslookup the DNS server from the test client, but it can't seem to find the server. Is there something I'm missing? What's required to configure an Ubuntu client to use a DNS server? I just want to make sure I'm not missing something before I assume the server's the problem.

    I'm trying to connect to connect to OpenVPN server from my Ubuntu 11.10 machine. I use the following command to do it (under root user): openvpn --config /home/vladimir/client.ovpn Everything seems to be OK, it connects normally without any warnings and errors, but when I try to browse the internet I see that I still use my own IP address, so VPN connection doesn't work.   • Recovering/Rebuilding MySQL .FRM, .MY* files from IBDATA1

    I recently had an incident in which several MySQL files were wiped out (mostly from WordPress, but also a few of MySQL’s own files). The IBDATA1 file is unaffected, but several .frm are gone as are a few .myi and .myd files. So now I need to find out if there is a way to rebuild the missing files from IBDATA1. I tried Googling it, assuming that such an issue has come up before, and indeed there were numerous search results (including this question), but all of the ones I looked at were the opposite, about recovering from .frm and .my* files or somehow required these files. Is there a way to rebuild these files? I know I have a relatively recent backup (a .SQL file) if there isn’t, but I’m hoping that these are the kind of files that are rebuilt if missing or outdated.

    I am trying to get Apache Solr to work on Redhat6 and Tomcat6 (using these instructions), but get this error when browsing to the admin section, http://localhost:8080/solr-example/admin: HTTP Status 404 - missing core name in path type Status report message missing core name in path description The requested resource (missing core name in path) is not available. http://localhost:8080/solr-example loads fine, with a link to "Solr Admin." My setup is as follows: tomcat6: /etc/tomcat6 Solr: /app/solr/example I have a solr-example.xml in /etc/tomcat6/Catalina/localhost/, which reads: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Context docBase="/app/solr/example/apache-solr-3.4.0.war" debug="0" crossContext="true"> <Environment name="solr/home" type="java.lang.String" value="/app/solr/example" override="true"/> </Context> I don't see anything in the logs (/var/log/tomcat6) ... only entires in catalina.out are regarding the starting and stopping of tomcat6. My questions are: 1.What else do I need to do to get "Solr Admin" to work under Tomcat? 2.Where are these "cores" supposed to be specified? I see an entry in /app/solr/example/solr/solr.xml ? <solr persistent="false"> adminPath: RequestHandler path to manage cores.     Unfortunately all tutorials I have found online until now on how to setup software-raid-1 are outdated on ubuntu 12.40 My target is to setup it on a system with a secondary disk drive that is already running. Format is not an option! I am trying to follow and adapt from 11.10 to 12.04 the following tutorial: http://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-set-up-software-raid1-on-a-running-lvm-system-incl-grub2-configuration-ubuntu-11.10-p2 On the above tutorial there is a successful command which creates a raid-1 array by setting the first disk drive with the installed system as missing: mdadm --create /dev/md0 --level=1 --raid-disks=2 missing /dev/sdb1 But when the time comes to add the first main drive with the installed system on the raid-array with this command: mdadm --add /dev/md0 /dev/sda1 I receive an error message. The error message says that the device /dev/sda is (which makes sense) busy! Note: hardware raid solution is not available since the system is a laptop with two disk drives! Thank you

    Hi, We have several identical several servers in a hosting company. They run Windows 2003 R2 Std SP2 64bit. The servers are not in a domain. We have recently received a new server with the same configuration and hardware. However, the new server is different in some way. When we run "gpedit.msc /s" there are much less options in the tree than the other servers. Specifically we are missing the configuration of "Terminal Services". Many other items are missing under "Administrative templates" and "Windows components".   • Windows 7 .NET 3.5.1 - 2.0 Slightly Corrupted, How to Repair?

    My Windows 7 included .NET installation (3.5 to 2.0) appears very slightly and particularly corrupted and I am trying to fix it without reinstalling Windows or trying to revert to backups. Everything was working and then my hard drive started corrupting a few files and checkdisk found bad clusters so I imaged the drive to a new one. As soon as I booted on the new drive everything worked except programs which call the System.Net.NetworkInformation methods within .NET 3.5 to 2.0 (like Ping() and IsNetworkAvailable()), which immediately crash the app in which the calls are (those calls in .NET 4.0 works fine). Those methods are found inside System.dll, and I assume call native methods which I believe are inside winnsi.dll or iphlpapi.dll or something else (I've not found this yet); I assume it calls native methods because the exception which causes the crash is Fatal Execution Engine Error which people mention is usually related to calling native methods and marshaling data between them. A huge clue about the culprit is likely found in the fact that when I launch the exact same crashing application through a code profiler (which executes the exe and captures stats on which methods took the longest) the app works fine, no crash at all! How could running it within the profiler work and running it outside not work? That seems the key to the mystery. I've used procmon to catch all the registry, filesystem, and network events from the crashing execution and the profiler-run successful execution and compared the two outputs but didn't learn much (I see the moment at which the non-profiled app crashes, but up until then they behave the same, loaded the same modules, ). The only big difference seems to be that at the moment before the app crash the profiler-executed code creates 4-6 new threads and the directly executed code only creates 1-2. I have diffed the files/directories which seemed most relevant (the .NET stuff under Windows and Program Files) pre- and post- disk trouble and seen no changes where I didn't expect any (no obvious file corruption). I have diffed the software and system registry hives pre- and post- disk trouble and seen no changes which seemed relevant. I have created a new user account and cleaned up any environment variables in case environment was related. No change. I did "sfc /scannow" and it found no integrity problems. I tried "ngen update" to regenerate pre-compiled code in case I missed something that might be damaged and nothing changed. I assume I need to repair my .NET installation but because Windows 7 included .NET 3.5 - 2.0 you can't just re-run a .NET installer to redo it. I do not have access to the Windows disks to try to re-install Windows over itself (the computer has a recovery partition but it is unusable); also the drive uses a whole-disk encryption solution and re-installing would be difficult. I absolutely do not want to start from scratch here and install a fresh Windows, reinstall dozens of software packages, try and remember dozens of development-related customizations/etc. Given all that... does anyone have any helpful advice? I need .NET 3.5 - 2.0 working as I am a developer and need to build and test against it. Thanks! Quinxy

    I've been using Monit to monitor my Thin server and everything was working until I upgraded my Rails version from 2.3.4 to 2.3.14. Now when I try and start Thin using monit it gives me an unfound gem error: Missing the Rails 2.3.14 gem. Please `gem install -v=2.3.14 rails` I thought this may be a GEM PATH issue and also tried setting the GEM_HOME and PATH variables in the start command: check process thin3001 with pidfile /home/blahblah/apps/Vocab/shared/pids/thin.3001.pid start program = "/usr/bin/env PATH=/usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems GEM_HOME=/usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems /usr/bin/ruby /usr/bin/thin -C /etc/thin/vocab.yml start -o 3001" stop program = "/usr/bin/ruby /usr/bin/thin -C /etc/thin/vocab.yml stop -o 3001" if totalmem > 150.0 MB for 5 cycles then restart group thin It's strange because if I run the start command in the console it works fine, it's only within monit that I get the missing Gems error.

    I have simple rewrite rules as I just learned about them RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^dl/(.*)/.*$ dl/$1/index.php [L] RewriteRule ^index.php$ upload.js [L] both are working on Windows for url localhost/upload/dl/mkdji/index.php, but on Debian works only second rule for url www.domain.com/index.php, but not for www.domain.com/dl/oksoks/index.php After dl is some random string. Obviously I'm missing something regarding directory depth, but don't know what. file htacces is in localhost/upload and root of domain.com folders. What am I missing here?
