  • How can I set default seed for all identities within a SQL Server database?

    Is there a way to tell SQL server to use specific default seed value for IDENTITY columns - assuming the (to be run) CREATE TABLE statements do not specify one? I don't really care about altering existing data or altering the seed values for specific IDENTITY columns. I want the same seed for all newly created identity columns. Assume I cannot modify the individual CREATE TABLE statements in any way.

  • How to use enumeration types in C++? Apply within example.

    I do not understand how to use enumeration types. I understand what they are, but I don't quite get their purpose. I have made a program that inputs three sides of a triangle and outputs whether or not they are isosceles, scalene, or equilateral. I'm suppose to incorporate the enumeration type somewhere, but don't get where and how to use them.   • Can a SQL Server 2008 database support both a REST and SOAP web services within two different endpoints?

    Say you have a SQL Server 2008 database. You build a SOAP web service. You then deploy or publish this using Visual Studio 2010 in one website. Now, using the same database, you build a REST web service, in a different solution. You deploy this on another website. Can you consume the endpoints and/or .svc file of both the SOAP and REST web services, though they reference the same SQL Server 2008 database? I don't see why not, but before I go down this path and spend days I'd like to make sure. Also if there's a performance hit to the database if it is running both SOAP and REST at the same time--again, I don't see why it would matter, but I must make sure. Thanks.

  • Where does code within Script tags go in the resulting AS class?

    I was wondering what happens to the code contained in an <mx:Script> tag. If I define a function tehre, it just becomes a member function of the generated class. But I noticed that it seems OK for the compiler if I just write some (static) method calls there (specifically, I call Font.registerFont()). I feel kind of guilty for doing this, because I have no idea what's really happening and when the code gets executed.

  • Is there a way to apply a CSS class from within a style?

    I'm trying to be more modular in my CSS style sheets and was wondering if there is some feature like an include or apply that allows the author to apply a set of styles dynamically. Since I am having a hard time wording the question, perhaps an example will make more sense. Let's say, for example, I have the following CSS: .red {color:#e00b0b} #footer a {font-size:0.8em} h2 {font-size:1.4em; font-weight:bold;} In my page, let's say that I want both the footer links and h2 elements to use the special red color (there may be other locations I would like to use it as well). Ideally, I would like to do something like the following: .red {color:#e00b0b} #footer a {font-size:0.8em; apply-class:".red";} h2 {font-size:1.4em; font-weight:bold; apply-class:".red";} To me, this feels "modular" in a way because I can make modifications to the .red class without having to worry so much about where it is used, and other locations can use the styles in that class without worrying about, specifically, what they are. I understand that I have the following options and have included why, in my fairly inexperienced opinion, they are less-than-perfect: Add the color property to every element I want to be that color. Not ideal because, if I change the color, I have to update every rule to match the new color. Add the red class to every element I want to be red. Not ideal because it means that my HTML is dictating presentation. Create an additional rule that selects every element I want to be red and apply the color property to that. Not ideal because it is harder to find all of the rules that style a specific element, making maintenance more of a challenge Maybe I'm just being an ass and the following options are the only options and I should stick with them. I'm wondering, however, if the "ideal" (well, my ideal) method exists and, if so, what is the proper syntax? If it doesn't exist, option 3 above seems like my best bet. However, I would like to get confirmation.

If I would write all main css first time with semantic names . then what and how i should guideline/instruction to other developer to maintain css readability, validation . and to know quickly where other are adding their own css if required. Right now every one just go to down and write required css classes ot IDs at bottom. and most of the time they don't write semantic names.

    Apologies, I'm very new to jQuery. I am trying to apply jQuery to a div which could contain any number of p tags of varying length or none at all. Depending on the assembled p's this div needs to maintain a height of 45px. If the p's contained therein push the div to be higher than 45px then I need to add an anchor image which users can click allowing the div to slide up and reveal the div's contents.   • JQUERY - how to get updated value after ajax removes data from within it?

    I have a an element with thumbnails. I allow users to sort their display order (which fires off an update to the DB via ajax). I also allow them to delete images (which, after deletion, fires off a request to update the display order for all remaining images). My problem is with binding or live I think, but I don't know where to apply it. The array fired off upon delete contains ALL the ids for the images that were there on page load. The issue is that after they delete an image the array STILL contains the original ids (including the one that was deleted) so it is obviously not refreshing the value of the element after ajax has removed things from inside it. I need to tell it to go get the refreshed contents... From what I have been reading, this is normal but I don't understand how to tie it into my routine. I need to trigger the mass re-ordering after any deletion.     I'm working on a web application using mvc, we have already a service that does http binding, the client wants tcp binding for certain actions (not really sure why) but it's their requirement so i'm attempting to set up net.tcp binding, all references i am seeing to doing this involve a windows application and not a web application. I guess my question has 2 parts, first can you run httpbinding and net.tcp binding at the same time through the same service/project. secondly how would I consume the service through a webproject?
