• Hyper-V Manager right clicking on remote VM causes MMC error

  I have a Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Server with SP1 that I log into and use to manage virtual machines running on multiple HyperV servers on our domain. Sometimes when I right click on a remote VM the HyperV Manager will crash and display the following error message: If I use the Actions menu on the lower right it works just fine, but for some reason right clicking cause MMC to stop working.   Hi there, I have a ESX3i, build 207095 and i'm having a problem connecting to my VM's using the vmware remote console. On my PC always gives me an error about vmare-remotemks. I can do all of the tasks using VI client, but when a try to open remote console it breaks, the only thing that apears on the black screen is "unknown MKS Event". I can't find a solution to my problem, and i really need to be able to start a remote console from my PC. On my laptop the error doesn't occurs, both machines are Windows 7 x64. Thanks, JGanhão

• Bad certificate error with RabbitMQ using SSL

  I am trying to get RabbitMQ working with SSL on a couple of Gentoo servers. I get the following error in /var/log/rabbitmq/[email protected] when I try to connect to the management console using https: SSL: certify: ssl_connection.erl:1641:Fatal error: bad certificate I followed the instructions here: http://www.rabbitmq.com/ssl.html The annoying thing is that I have 2 cloned servers and it is working on one and not the other. As far as I can tell the machines are configured identically. I wrote a script to generate the certs etc. and have run it on both. I am not using client certificates. Anyone know how I can figure out whats wrong with my certificate(s)? I am using Erlang 15.2, RabbitMQ 2.7.9, OpenSSL 0.9.8k.

• Help make sense of a KillDisk error/log

  I have a hard drive that I've been trying to reformat. I tried reformatting it in the windows XP and 7 installers, and in an Ubuntu live cd with gparted. I tried using dd to 'zero' the drive as well with no success. Finally I ran across KillDisk after a search.   Today is SQL day for me :) I have a maintenance plan that is failing to run with the following error: Failed:(-1073548784) Executing the query "USE [SharedServices1_DB]" failed with the following error: "Database 'SharedServices1_DB' cannot be opened because it is offline.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly. where SharedServices1_DB is a database that is set to offline. I would like to exclude this database from the maintenance plan, but when the database is offline, it does not show up at all as a "specific database" in the maintenance plan task, and if I bring it online, it is already unchecked in the maintenance plan task. How can I exclude an offline database from a maintenance plan?

  Hi all, I've been struggling to upload an image from the user's computer and posted to our group page using the Facebook Graph API. I was able to send a post request to facebook with the image however, I'm getting this error back: ERROR: (#200) User must have accepted TOS. To some extent, I don't believe that I need the user to authorize himself as the photo is being uploaded to our group page.   Hi a friend of mine is asking about the request which can for example be found here: http://www.geoidee.ch/geodata/geoserver-2.0.0/logs/2010_11_23.request.log His original message: On a couple of hundred web sites worldwide, one of the 50 most popular "File not found" error 404 is caused by the following request: "GET http://66.196.81.202/error/vote HTTP/1.0" It originates from a user agent that purports to be an iPhone. The two requests that hit my servers appeared to originate near Frankfort, Germany. The IP address in the request is part of Yahoo although I doubt that Yahoo had any intentional part. fe1.buzz.vip.re1.yahoo.com The HTTP request has a host header 66.196.81.202 and a X-Forwarded-For of 96.6.99.16 and my IP address I expected to be able to do a Google search and find some kind of security bulletin on it, but I found nothing. • getting input/output error from NFS client on RHEL5

  i have two RHEL5 boxes on a private network together (192.168.2.0/24) and I am trying to export a file system from one to the other but I keep getting the following error: mount.nfs: Input/output error on the client side I see this output: mount: trying 192.168.2.101 prog 100003 vers 3 prot tcp port 2049 mount: trying 192.168.2.101 prog 100005 vers 3 prot tcp port 960 and on the server side I see this: Sep 20 14:14:32 omicron mountd[18739]: authenticated mount request from 192.168.2.87:635 for /srv/nfs/web (/srv/nfs/web) but that's all. I opened up iptables so that the whole 192.168.2.0/24 network is allowed to communicate freely but the public side is locked down to 22,80 etc.... any ideas?

  I'm getting the above mentioned error when backing up with ZRM, which is using mysqldump for backup. mysqldump --opt --extended-insert --single-transaction --create-options --default-character-set=utf8 --user=" " -p --all-databases "/nfs/backup/mysql01/dailyrun/20091216043001/backup.sql" mysqldump: Error 2020: Got packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' bytes when dumping table TICKET_ATTACHMENT at row: 2286 I have increased the size for 'max_allowed_packet' to be 1G in /etc/my.cnf which is the server setting and for the client side setting I've set it by running this command: mysql -u -p --max_allowed_packet=1G And I have verified that on the client and server side they are of the same value. This is to check the client side value according to this forum posting http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?35,75794,261640 mysql SELECT @@MAX_ALLOWED_PACKET - ; +----------------------+ | @@MAX_ALLOWED_PACKET | +----------------------+ | 1073741824 | +----------------------+ 1 row in set (0.00 sec) And this is the check the server value setting. mysql SHOW VARIABLES | max_allowed_packet | 1073741824 | I have ran out of ideas, and tried searching within expert exchange and googling for solutions but so far none has worked.   I deleted the /var/log/nginx/error.log file, and then created a new one using: sudo nano error.log Doinga ls -la shows that the error.log and access.log have the same permissions. When I try and start nginx I get the error: alert: could not open error log file: open() "/var/log/nginx/error.log" failed permission denited.

  I just updated the certificate on one of my sites due to the old one expiring. The new certificate verifies fine in Internet Explorer 9, Chrome, and Firefox 4 - but when trying to browse/check out the repository with TortoiseSVN, I get the following error: Error validating server certificate for https://xxx.xxx.com:443: Unknown certificate issuer.   I am trying to install a web service (written in FoxPro) onto a newly configured server. Part of the installation process was to install MSSoap 3.0 which seems to be successful. The server OS is Microsoft Server 2008 R2 (x64). I am now trying to create a virtual directoty at the command prompt using the SOAPVDIR.CMD script and I am getting the following error: CMD> SOAPVDIR.CMD CREATE CSLRosterService "C:\ROSTERWS" CMD> ERROR (0x80070002): Soap Toolkit 3 Isapi is not correctly registered. Does anyone know how I can correct this or what I am doing wrong?

• mod_jk fails to detect error state because JBoss gives 404, not 500

  Configuration: Apache + mod_jk, several workers on other machines (load balancing). When JBoss fails to deploy an application for example because of failed connection to the database, requests to /myapp/somepage generate 404. How do I configure JBoss to return 500 for everything under /myapp when the application failed to deploy? Additional info: Since 404 is not an "error state" code, mod_jk does not mark the worker as failed and continues to route the traffic there. Since there might be valid requests to this application also generating 404, I can not configure mod_jk to treat 404 as an "error state"
