This is really weird, does anyone seen this before? I'm using maven 2.2.1 BTW, the error return code 10 in windows mean "Environment is invalid.

• Android: Strange out of memory issue

  I am not sure where to start to explain this one. I have a list view with a couple image buttons on each row. When you click the list row, it launches a new activity. If you review some of my other posts, I have had to build my own tabs because of an issue w/ the camera layout. The activity that gets launched for result is a map. If I click on my button to launch the image preview (load an image off the sd card) the application returns from the activity back to the listview activity to the result handler to relaunch my new activity which is nothing more than an image widget. So here is the issue, the image preview on the list view is being done w/ the cursor & listadapter. This makes it pretty simple, but I am not sure how I can put a resized (i.e. smaller bit size not pixel) image as the src for the imgbutton on the fly. So I just resized the image that came off the phone camera. The issue is that I get an out of memory error when it tries to go back and re-launch the 2nd activity. ** My question : is there a way I can build the list adapter easily row by row, where I can resize on the fly (bit wise)? - this would be preferable as I also need to make some changes to the properties of the widgets/elements in each row as I am unable to select a row w/ touch screen b/c of focus issue. (I can use roller ball). ** I know I can do an out of band resize and save of my image, but that is not really what I want to do, but some sample code for that would be nice if that is your suggestion. As soon as I disabled the image on the listview it worked fine again. • Reasons for NSManagedObjectMergeError error on [NSManagedObjectContext save:]

  I have a application that combines threading and CoreData. I and using one global NSPersistentStoreCoordinator and a main NSManagedObjectContextModel. I have a process where I have to download 9 files simultaneously, so I created an object to handle the download (each individual download has its own object) and save it to the persistentStoreCoordinator. In the [NSURLConnection connectionDidFinishLoading:] method, I created a new NSManagedObject and attempt to save the data (which will also merge it with the main managedObjectContext). I think that it is failing due to multiple process trying to save to the persistentStoreCoordinator at the same time as the downloads are finishing around the same time. What is the easiest way to eliminate this error and still download the files independently? Thank you!

Is there any way to check it within the main service as i have tried work on it but if the windows service is stopped then there is no way i can check on it. • Secondary monitor bug: a problem in WPF or in the graphics driver?

  I have discovered a strange bug with my WPF application and I am trying to determine whether it is a problem with WPF or my graphics driver so that I can report it to the appropriate company. I have a Quadro FX 1700 with the latest drivers (197.54) on a Windows XP system, running a .NET 3.5 SP1 application. I have dual monitors, and when I maximize then minimize a child window of the main window on my primary monitor, the child window gets drawn on the secondary monitor as well. It appears in both places. I made a sample application (code is below) which induces this behavior. Start the application and ensure the main window is on your primary monitor. Double-click the main window. A green child window should appear. Click the green child window to maximize. Click the green child window to minimize. Can anyone else reproduce this problem? On my system the green child restores, but then it's drawn on both my primary and secondary monitors, rather than just the primary monitor. • Redirect with htaccess for images onto another server without redirect looping

  Hey guys, I currently have a host where my main site is hosted on. I have set up nginx on another server to mirror/cache files being requested if it doesn't have it already, in particular images and flv videos. For example: www.domain.com is my main site. www.domain.com/video/video.flv www.domain.com/images/1.png I would like to ask apache to redirect it to imgserv.domain.com (imgserv.domain.com points to another server IP) imgserv.domain.com/video/video.flv imgserv.domain.com/images/1.png Basically redirect everything with certain filetypes and preserving the structure of the URL, like flv etc. I tried something but I am getting a redirect looping error. Could someone help me out? Thank you!

  Hi. My main intention is to keep the functionality independent form the Javascript, to have it gracefully degradable. Maybe I am trying to go where I want the wrong way but the main idea is: there are some jQuery UI tabs and when the user presses a link, a new tab is added corresponding to that action $("#tabs").tabs('add', "/groups", "My Groups"); the controller identifies the AJAX request and renders only the partial for that tab if request.xhr? render :partial => "index_tab" end at this point I would like the Javascript file associated with the /groups/index action to be executed as well, meaning the index.js.erb file in the groups folder. because of the "only one render" rule I couldn't think of a nice way to do it and I am in need of a fast solution. (rsProcessingAborted) Cannot read the next data row for the data set DS_GRID_DATA. (rsErrorReadingNextDataRow) Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value '1,2,3,4' to data type int. Basically I have defined Parameters!RP_cll_typ_l1 as multivalued into my subreport as per ssrs multivalued parameter passing method. The value is going on sub report as '1,2,3,4' (not understandable by data set) It should be like as '1’,’2’,’3’,’4' or 1,2,3,4 How can I resolve this please help if any have solution? • [android] Screen Orientation Landscape back to Portrait not working

  Hello, I've racked my brain for hours over this issue. I have created a main.xml and designed one for the res/layout-land (landscape) format and another one for portrait in res/layout. When I rotate the emulator (ctrl-F11), my app rotates properly to landscape using the correct main.xml, but a subsequent rotation back to portrait just keeps the landscape mail.xml. This was done in a 2.0 AVD.. Out of despiration I downloaded the new Sample Code for Multiple Resolutions and had to create a new 2.1 AVD, to my surprise rotation with this app works correctly as expected. So I then decided to try my app on the 2.1 AVD and it works perfectly. So, is this a Bug in a 2.0 AVD or is there something special I need to be doing for < 2.1 SDK versions? This is driving me crazy because no where did anyone mention this issue. Thanks in advance

• Process: Unable to start service com.google.android.gms.checkin.CheckinService with Intent

  I'm trying to build a Google map application but keep receiving this in my LogCat. I have all the permissions and meta-data set in my manifest, but am still dumbfounded by this error. Have looked everywhere on SO for this specific error but found nothing relating to com.google.android.gms.checkin A little bit about my structural hierarchy. MainActivity extends ActionBarActivity with three tabs underneath actionbar. Each tab has it's own fragment. On the gMapFragment I create a GPSTrack object from my GPSTrack class which extends Service and implements LocationListener. The problem is that when I start the application I get this message: I have all my libraries imported properly and I even added the google-play-services.jar into my libs folder. I also installed Google Play Services APKs through CMD onto my emulator. Furthermore the LocationManager lm = = (LocationManager) mContext.getSystemService(LOCATION_SERVICE); in my GPSTrack class always returns null. Why is this and how can I fix these issues?   I'm having this weird problem, where including the phonegap.js file in my project causes the app to crash on both the android emulator and my phone. I got the latest file from GitHub, so I can't see why this isn't working. This happens even if I try to build the sample project that's included in the PhoneGap download... • Accessing original WordPress blog's DB from sub-blogs in network mode

  I'm helping with a university radio station website that runs WordPress and was recently switched over to Network (Multi-site/multi-user) mode by myself. The setup is as such: The parent site (www.stationID.com) runs a bunch of custom-built plugins to construct things like the show schedule calendar, the "Now Playing" widget, podcast list, et cetera. The new network websites ("wiki.stationID.com", "buddypress.stationID.com" for instance) run the same template as the parent site, but it stops after rendering the first section because the widgets from point 1 grab data from the main site's database that is not available to sub-blogs. My question is: how do I get data from the main site's tables on the sub-domain sub-blogs? A related question is: how do I set the $wpdb->prefix to be the same as the parent site on the child websites without it negatively effecting how the child website pulls data from its own database? Any help would be awesome, thanks!

  I'm trying to zoom in on a Google MapView on step in the oncreateMethod of my Activity.   I use echo in Upstart scripts to log things: script echo "main: some data" >> log end script post-start script echo "post-start: another data" >> log end script Now these two run in parallel, so in the logs I often see: main: post-start: some data another data This is not critical, so I won't employ proper synching, but thought I'd turn auto flush ON to at least reduce this effect. Is there an easy way to do that? Update: yes, flushing will not properly fix it, but I've seen it help such situations to some degree, and this is all I need in this case. It's just that I don't know how to do it in Shell

• UIScrollview setContentOffset immediate animation?

  Is there anyway to get the setContentOffset animation to happen immediately instead of waiting until the app returns to the main run loop? I tried setting the animation property to NO and nesting inside of an animation block but it still waits until returning to the main run loop. I've also tried using a sub method to perform the animation. My problem is I perform some heavy work after setting the contentOffset so the scroll view waits until this work is complete to animate the setting of the content offset so it appears to lag for a second.
