    I have two tables like this: Category: Id Name ------------------ 1 Cat1 2 Cat2 Feature: Id Name CategoryId -------------------------------- 1 F1 1 2 F2 1 3 F3 2 4 F4 2 5 F5 2 In my .Net classes, i have two POCO classes like this: public class Category { public int Id {get;set;} public int Name {get;set;} public IList<Feature> Features {get;set;} } public class Feature { public int Id {get;set;} public int CategoryId {get;set;} public int Name {get;set;} } I am using a stored proc that returns me a result set by joining these 2 tables. This is how my Stored Proc returns the result set. SELECT c.CategoryId, c.Name Category, f.FeatureId, f.Name Feature FROM Category c INNER JOIN Feature f ON c.CategoryId = f.CategoryId ORDER BY c.Name --Resultset produced by the above query CategoryId CategoryName FeatureId FeatureName --------------------------------------------------- 1 Cat1 1 F1 1 Cat1 2 F2 2 Cat2 3 F3 2 Cat2 4 F4 2 Cat2 5 F5 Now if i want to build the list of categories in my .Net code, i have to loop thru the result set and add features unless the category changes.   • Razor support of generic extension methods

    Hello, With regards to the Razor view engine, say I want to render Html.TextBoxFor<SomeModel>(i => i.Name), it doesn't seem that the inline syntax works as in: @Html.TextBoxFor<SomeModel>(i => i.Name) This doesn't seem to work because it interprets the generic as an HTML tag. I could use a code-block approach, but then what's the best approach to output the content? The HTML string returned from this method, do I response.write it, or is there a syntax for it, or what's the approach? Thanks.

  • Telerik chart not loading correctly in new window (ajax issue?)

    I have a page which contains user controls with Telerik Charts (grids also, but they work fine). From this page, the user can click on a button to be redirected to a "Printer-Friendly Version" type page, which opens a new window via javascript and goes through a slightly different view (for formatting and stuff), but the telerik code is all the same. The problem is, my Chart displays just fine in the original window, but the new window displays basically an empty chart with no data. This bug is only present in IE, and only applies to Charts. Grids work fine, for whatever reason. I'm thinking this is due to differences in script caching between browsers -- correct me if I'm wrong, I'm semi-new to client-directed web development. Anyway I read somewhere that Telerik has issues with loading data and/or js files when loaded via ajax, so maybe that's the problem? If so, how could I get around this? And if not, any ideas on what could be causing this issue? It's causing me a great deal of frustration, since a print preview page seems like it should be the easiest of jobs. Edit: The charts are being rendered as html (if somebody can explain how to render them as images, that would be awesome). And dev tools shows basically the same thing between chrome and IE. Whenever my web service goes back up ill WinMerge them and look for any peculiarities/differences between them. In the mean time, though, the "render as an image" concept sounds promising. That way I could just save the image from the first page, and insert it right into the print preview page, right?. And since it's a print-preview page, it's not going to need to be interactive or anything, so that'd work out nicely. Another (important) Edit: These are probably the culprit...   • Extending ClaimsIdentity in MVC3

    I've got my claims set-up with MVC3 using azure and everything is going well. What I need to do now is extend the Claims Identity that's in the current thread / http context and add my own information (DOB, Address.. that sort of stuff) so my question is - where is the best place to do this? any examples would be great.. I presume that when the user is authenticated id then have to go to the DB and pull back the relevant record for the user then add it to the custom Claims Identity object? cheers. ste.

  • Why is my form triggering the wrong controller action?

    This form has multiple submit buttons, when clicked, it calls a simple JavaScript function to change the value of a hidden input (function is called "setHidden". This worked before, after some other not relevant code, it has ceased working. Essentially, the action it is supposed to call is never called, instead it seems to default back to a previous URL.   • MVC3 View For Loop values initialization

    So I have a for loop in my View that is supposed to render out the input boxes. Now inside these input boxes I want to put lables that disappear when you click on them. This is all simple. And you're probably thinking "Of course that won't work. You're going to get a Null Reference Exception", and you would be correct. I might need to initialize them somewhere else and I don't realize it but I'm just not sure. I've tried the [DefaultValue("First Name")] route and that doesn't work. I'm probably thinking about this wrong, but my brain is already shot from trying to figure out how to wire up these events to the controller, so any help would be appreciated!

  • Extending / changing how Zend_Search_Lucene searches

    Hi, I am currently using Zend_Search_Lucene to index and search a number of documents currently at around a 1000 or so. What I would like to do is change how the engine scores hits on a document, from the current default. Zend_Search_Lucene scores on the frequency of number of hits within a document, so a document that has 10 matches of the word PHP will score higher than a document with only 3 matches of PHP. What I am trying to do is pass a number of key words and score depending on the hits of those keywords. e.g. I pass 5 key words say,PHP, MySQL, Javascript, HTML and CSS that I search against the index. One document has 3 matches to those key words and one document has all 4 matches, the 4 matches scores the highest. The number of instances of those words in the document do not concern me. Now I've had a quick look at Zend_Search_Lucene_Search_Similarity however I have to confess that I am not sure (or that bright) to know how to use this to achieve what I am after. Is what I want to do possible using Lucene or is there a better solution out there?

  • Forcing EditorFor to prefix input items on view with Class Name?

    I have an EditorFor: <%: Html.EditorFor(model => model.Client, "ClientTemplate", new { editing = false })%> This will bind coming down to the view fine (as expected) but will not bind bind back when the model gets posted. This is due to the form id's not being prefixed with "Client." Usually in this situation i just pass in model and then bind the inputs to model.Client.PropertyName in the Template but this is not an option in this case as the template is used on two different viewmodels (that have client on). Any suggestions on getting this to bind properly? Many thanks, Kohan.

    I am having a model and I am using ajax.post. I can see that the model binding isn`t being done for the arraylists in my model, though binding done for the properties of int or string type. Why is that so? My code is as below.     With the new Zend_Application/Zend_Application_Bootstrap classes I'm confused as to where I should be applying my custom routes. For example, at the moment I have one route: protected function _initRouter() { $router = new Zend_Controller_Router_Rewrite; $route = new Zend_Controller_Router_Route('news/:id', array('controller' => 'news', 'action' => 'view')); $router->addRoute('postArchive', $route); } This method is in my Zend_Application_Bootstrap_Bootstrap and is definitely run. The route is also applied in $router. As I see it I could be doing two things wrong - either the wrong place to add these routes, or not adding to the correct router. Can anyone point me in the right direction with this?

I register my custom view engine in Global.asax : RegisterViewEngines(ViewEngines.Engines); AreaRegistration.RegisterAllAreas(); RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); When I browsed my admin site, it cant find the views.. I know its because of my custom view engine.. But how can you register new custom view engine without affecting the view engine of areas?

Is there a better way to iterate through the nameValueCollection AllKeys? Since he is not authenticated, method return RedirectToRoute result (redirects to login page). What do you do with it? How do you handle it on client side and how do you handle it in controller?

EDIT: I have changed the BaseControllerFactory to use Structuremap. But I get an exception on the line return (Controller)ObjectFactory.GetInstance( controllerType ); Any hint?

    All, I am using the following command to retrieve the domain name of my server. $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] This seems to return the IP address instead of domain name like www.example.com. I looked at PHPInfo and it also lists an IP address for HTTP_HOST instead of Domain name. What do I need to change to make the domain name appear instead of IP? Thanks
