  • FTP Connection established...Connection timed out problem with all my sites and FTP programs?

    Just few hours ago FileZilla was working fine. Then, suddenly I started to get this error: Status: Resolving address of ftp.readtypechinese.com Status: Connecting to 69.175.14.60:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Error: Connection timed out Error: Could not connect to server And it happens with all my sites: Status: Resolving address of edasich.dreamhost.com Status: Connecting to 173.236.223.223:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Error: Connection timed out Error: Could not connect to server I'm using FileZilla 3.5.0 and Ubuntu 11.10. Any suggestions to fix this? (I already tried Passive mode and it doesn't work). EDIT: Ocasionally, the log goes beyond the ...waiting for welcome message: Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Response: 220 DreamHost FTP Server Command: USER aleche23 Error: Connection timed out Error: Could not connect to server But the connection gets timed out again.   • mobile broadband quick connect..how to?

    Hello all, I have a Reliance broadband + mobile broadband connection. It connects fine, but the only problem is it takes more than 2 -3 mins to get the connection started. If I plug in the USB datacard, the network manager applet dothes not show up the mobile broadband connection immediately. It takes a good 2-3 mins to detect the connection before I can select Reliance connection from the dropdown list. Is there any way of getting a shortcut of that connection on the desktop or on the panel? Thanks, Sayantan

    My question, at the bottom line, is what is the appropriate(best) way to manage our connection towards MySQL db with C#. Well, currently I'm working on some C# (winforms type) <- MySQL application and I've been looking at Server Connections in MySQL Administrator, been witness of execution of my mysql_queries, connection opens an closes, ... an so on! In my C# code I'm working like this and this is an example: public void InsertInto(string qs_insert) { try { conn = new MySqlConnection(cs); conn.Open(); cmd = new MySqlCommand(); cmd.Connection = conn; cmd.CommandText = qs_insert; cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); } catch (MySqlException ex) { MessageBox.Show(ex.ToString()); } finally { if (conn != null) { conn.Close(); } } } Meaning, every time I want to insert something in db table I call this table and pass insert query string to this method. Connection is established, opened, query executed, connection closed. So, we could conclude that this is the way I manage MySQL connection. For me and my point of view, currently, this works and its enough for my requirements. Well, you have Java & Hibernate, C# & Entity Framework and I'm doing this :-/ and it's confusing me. Should I use MySQL with Entity Framework? What is the best way for collaboration between C# and MySQL?   • Cannot establish ssh connection to computer on local network

    I've just (re)installed ubuntu 11.10 on my main pc, and the connection times out every time I try to ssh connect to my laptop (over the local network) to retrieve the files I backed up there. The connection times out every time I try to connect. I can establish a connection in the other direction without issue. Here's the verbose output I get when I try to connect: ovangle@ruby-EP43-DS3:~$ ssh -v [email protected] OpenSSH_5.8p1 Debian-7ubuntu1, OpenSSL 1.0.0e 6 Sep 2011 debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config debug1: Applying options for * debug2: ssh_connect: needpriv 0 debug1: Connecting to 10.1.1.4 [10.1.1.4] port 22. debug1: connect to address 10.1.1.4 port 22: Connection timed out ssh: connect to host 10.1.1.4 port 22: Connection timed out ssh is installed on both machines, and I've tried deleting '~/.ssh/known_hosts' on both machines, still nada. I've changed the sshd logging on the laptop to VERBOSE and restarted the daemon (because I wasn't getting any relevant syslog entries otherwise), and this is the log for the most recent connection attempt. EDIT: posted wrong logs last time. They just showed that there was a connection received, they weren't actually the sshd logs (which were in auth.log as I recently discovered). Unfortunately, that log is filling up with extremely weird error messages and it gives me no information about the connection.     So I'm trying to connect to my database at the specified location, and the connection is established as long as the db at the same location specified at DataSource field, but what if I tried to distribute my application, the file path will change and will lead to errors I want to avoid.     My application written in C# makes use of the MessageQueue class in .NET for communicating messages with another remote application and the MessageQueue should always be "connected" (heartbeat present) with the remote messageQueue under all circumstances. If it is not "connected", then it signals that something is wrong and my application will need to perform some actions such as updating an event log. Is there a method in the MessageQueue class that can be used to detecting such breaks in connection?

    When working with NHibernate and Sql Compact in a Windows Form application I am wondering what is the best practice for managing connections. With SQL CE I have read that you should keep your connection open vs closing it as one would typically do with standard SQL. If that is the case and your using a IoC, would you make your repositories lifetime be singletons so they exist forever or dispose of them after you perform a "Unit of Work". Also is there a way to determine the number of connections open to Sql CE?

  • Java Socket Connection is flooding network OR resulting in high ping

    i have a little problem with my java socket code. I'm writing an android client application which is sending data to a java multithreaded socket server on my pc through direct(!) wireless connection. It works fine but i want to improve it for mobile applications as it is very power consuming by now. When i remove two special lines in my code, the cpu usage of my mobile device (htc one x) is totally okay but then my connection seems to have high ping rates or something like that... Here is a server code snippet where i receive the clients data: while(true) { try { .... Object obj = in.readObject(); if(obj != null) { Class clazz = obj.getClass(); String className = clazz.getName(); if(className.equals("java.lang.String")) { String cmd = (String)obj; if(cmd.equals("dc")) { System.out.println("Client "+id+" disconnected!"); Server.connectedClients[id-1] = false; break; } if(cmd.substring(0,1).equals("!")) { robot.keyRelease(PlayerEnum.getKey(cmd,id)); } else { robot.keyPress(PlayerEnum.getKey(cmd,id)); } } } } catch .... Heres the client part, where i send my data in a while loop: private void networking() { try { if(client != null) { .... out.writeObject(sendQueue.poll()); .... } } catch .... when i write it this why, i send data everytime the while loop gets executed.. when sendQueue is empty, a null "Object" will be send. this results in "high" network traffic and in "high" cpu usage. BUT: all send comments are received nearly immediately. when i change the code to following: while(true) ... if(sendQueue.peek() != null) { out.writeObject(sendQueue.poll()); } ... the cpu usage is totally okay but i'm getting some laggs.. the commands do not arrive fast enough.. as i said, it works fine (besides cpu usage) if i'm sending data(with that null objects) every while execution. but i'm sure that this is very rough coding style because i'm kind of flooding the network. any hints? what am i doing wrong??
