    Hi, I know this exact question was asked here, but the answer didn't work for what I needed to do so I figured I'd give some example code and explain a bit... $(document).keypress( function (event) { // Pressing Up or Right: Advance to next video if (event.keyCode == 40 || event.keyCode == 39) { event.preventDefault(); $(".current").next().click(); } // Pressing Down or Left: Back to previous video else if (event.keyCode == 38 || event.keyCode == 37) { event.preventDefault(); $(".current").prev().click(); } } ); It basically disables the arrow keys to use them for something else, but doing: $(document).keypress(function () { }); doesn't enable the default function again... I need it to scroll the page without having to create a scroll function for it... Any ideas? Thanks, Matt

  • Why does ffmpeg stop randomly in the middle of a process?

    ffmpeg feels like its taking a long time. I then look at my output file and i see it stops between 6 and 8mbs. A fully encoded file is about 14mb. Why does ffmpeg stop? My code locks up on StandardOutput.ReadToEnd();. I had to kill the process (after seeing it not move for more then 10 seconds when i see it update every second previously) then i get the results of stdout and err. stdout is "" stderr is below. The output msg shows the filesize ended. I also see a drop in my CPU usage when it stops. I copyed the argument from visual studios. CD to the same working directory and ran the cmd (bin/ffmpeg) and pasted the argument.   • jQuery prevent.default stops rest of code working

    Hey all I have this code where I am using jQuery to navigate to the next page, because I want some effects to take place before that happens. The problem is, that everything after the prevent.Default(); doesn't seem to work! $("a").click(function(event){ event.preventDefault(); $(".content-center").animate({height: "0px"}, 500); navigate($(this).attr('href')); }); I need things to happen in that order, so that the animation happens and once it's complete - load the next page...   • File size and mime-type before upload

    Hi, I've scavenged on every single topic on this forum to try and find an answer before I posted this. Most people say you should simply use SWFUpload, some others mention Activex, and it keeps going. I know this is do-able, as Google does it with gMail when you try to upload a file that's bigger than 25mb, or executable. My question is, how can I determine the file size and mime-type before the file actually hits my server. I primarily thought it was an impossible task, but Google proves me wrong. Could anyone give me a definitive answer on how to accomplish such task? Thanks

  • Portable way of finding total disk size in Java (pre java 6)

    I need to find the total size of a drive in Java 5 (or 1.5, whatever). I know that Java 6 has a new method in java.io.File, but I need it to work in Java 5. Apache Commons IO has org.apache.commons.io.FileSystemUtils to provide the free disk space, but not the total disk space. I realize this is OS dependant and will need to depend on messy command line invocation. I'm fine with it working on "most" systems, i.e. windows/linux/macosx. Preferably I'd like to use an existing library rather than write my own variants. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    Converting a C++ lib to ANSI C and it seems like though ANSI C doesn't support default values for function variables or am I mistaken? What I want is something like int funcName(int foo, bar* = NULL); Also, is function overloading possible in ANSI C? Would need const char* foo_property(foo_t* /* this */, int /* property_number*/); const char* foo_property(foo_t* /* this */, const char* /* key */, int /* iter */); Could of course just name them differently but being used to C++ I kinda used to function overloading.

    Maybe this has an obvious solution that I'm overlooking, but I can't seem to find the correct parameter to put in to make this happen. Using the Google Translate widget on a site, I need to set the default language that the user sees when entering the site, even though the site is english. function googleTranslateElementInit() { new google.translate.TranslateElement({ pageLanguage: 'en' }, 'google_translate_element'); } I've tried adding: defaultLanguage: 'fr' and tried: targetLanguage: 'fr' I did find some nice jQuery solutions, but didn't want to bypass this if it was an easy fix.     I'm pulling a lot of text from a MS SQL Server database. I'm not getting all the text (which includes some html. The text is stored perfectly on the database. However, when I run the query to get the data It will only pull part of the text. I pull the data using odbc_exec and store using $variable = odbc_result($runquery,"body"). if i display the content with odbc_result_all($runquery) i get part of the content. if I use echo $body; i get part of the content then some garbage and part of the text from the begining. very strange response. Is there a size limit? Any ideas what I'm missing here?

  • Apache2 mod_proxy and post-multipart size

    Hi, I have Apache2 configured to proxy all traffic directed to a specific virtual host to a local tomcat instance. All is good and fine but for multipart posts larger than ~100kb. Such posts fail on the tomcat end with an exception like SocketTimeoutException. If I connect directly to Tomcat (which listens on a port != 80) then all posts are handled just fine.   • OSX: Selecting default application for all unknown and different file types (extensions)

    I work in cluster computing and am using Mac OS X 10.6. I send off hundreds of computing jobs a day, and each one comes back with with a different extension. For example, svmGeneSelect.o12345 which is the std output of my svmGeneSelect job which is job number 12345. I don't control the extensions. All files are plain text. I want OSX to open any file extension that it hasn't seen before with my favorite text editor when I click on it. Or even better set up file association defaults for extension patterns ie textEdit for extensions matching *.o*. I do NOT want to create file associations for individual files since this extension will only ever exist once, and I do not want to go through the process of selecting the application to use for each file.     With default parameters introduced in C# 4.0 one might be tempted to abandon the old approach of providing method overloads to simulate default parameters. However, you must take in consideration that both techniques are not interchangeable since they show different behaviors in certain scenarios. For me the most relevant difference is that default parameters are a compile time feature while method overloading is a runtime feature. To illustrate these concepts let’s take a look at a complete, although a bit long, example. The use of default parameters is also discouraged by Microsoft in public API’s as stated in (CA1026: Default parameters should not be used) code analysis rule.

  • Exchange 2003 automated mailbox size report

    I have a question if I may. I have been looking for a while for something that can report user mailbox sizes and percentage used against their quota or something that can warn me when a mailbox is getting close to the quota. I know the user receives a warning but how can I send that same warning a centralized mailbox so we can be pro-active in our support. Either a script or an application that can do this will be helpful. Unfortunately my scripting skills are useless for something this complex. Any ideas of what can be used will be appreciated.

    I have a Windows XP x64 install in VMware Fusion. The amount of space that the VM reports as used (C:) is ~20GB. However, the amount of space the VM is taking up on my disk is 30GB. Why the inconsistency? I do not have autoprotect enabled, nor do I have any snapshots I'm aware of. I have defragmented the drive and used Drive Cleanup from the VMware settings.

    I just installed Windows 7 and I want all users signing in to the computer to see the Language Bar customized with the following three languages: "English (American)" "French (Standard)" "Chinese (Simplified PRC)" I am running the following four lines of code at log on in order to change the registry such that each user will see the language bar, and then have access to the three keyboard layouts mentioned above. reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\CTF\LangBar" /v ShowStatus /t REG_DWORD /d 4 /f reg add "HKCU\Keyboard Layout\Preload" /v 2 /d 0000040c reg add "HKCU\Keyboard Layout\Preload" /v 3 /d 00000c0a reg add "HKCU\Keyboard Layout\Preload" /v 4 /d 00000804 The above works fine, but with one small/major inconvenience: the user has to log off and then log back on in order for these changes to take effect and see the language bar, as described above. The question becomes: How can I force these changes to take effect so that users don't have to log off and then log back in to see the language bar. This has to be done automatically when users log in.
