  • Printing Booklet Page Size in Adobe Reader 4-in-1

    So I have a 70 page pdf document that I'm trying to condense to a small booklet. I tried creating a formula to manually to perform it but it got ugly fast. 35,36,34,37,17,54,16,55,33,38,32,39,15,56,14,57,31,40,30,41,13,58,12,59 29,42,28,43,11,60,10,61,27,44,26,45,9,62,8,63,25,46,24,47,7,64,6,65 23,48,22,49,5,66,4,67,21,50,20,51,3,68,2,69,19,52,18,53,1,70 Once I print the booklet I should be able to cut the sheets in half and set the bottom half behind the top and staple it for a simple book. Which means Page 1 should have pages 35,36,17,54,34,37,16,55 Page 2 should have pages 33,38,15,56,32,39,14,57 And several pages later Page 9 should have pages 19,52,1,70,18,53 But manually doing this is a headache and it seems like the booklet function should contain functionality that can perform this. I'm using a commercial Konica Minolta C452

    Social Reader Application has made the process of sharing in Facebook easy but it looks like whatever we read is being displayed in our Facebook’s page. How to avoid this sharing? In the recent days, everyone’s Facebook Page is being flooded with various news from all the Social Reader Applications we have enabled. Even though this is a good idea to share the current news to everyone, it still seems to have taken away our privacy of what content we actually read. To avoid displaying the news on our Facebook page: 1. If you want the feeds to be displayed in your page but not to be shown to public or friends, just select from the options that are listed when you give permission for the Social Reader when you first read a feed. 2. Select Account Settings from the drop down menu on the top right corner of your FB page. Select Apps Tab which is available in the left side of the page. Here you can change the App Settings or completely delete the App. 3. You can also block Social Reader and other applications’ feeds that are read by your friends. In the right corner of the feed, click the drop-down icon and select “Hide all by ‘Application’” option. By selecting this, you would not be able to see any feeds from your friends too. 4. If you are intrigued by the feeds, you can just copy the title in your search engine and then read directly from their sites. This will not list the feed in your Facebook page.

    I need to gather some statistics in my software and i am trying to make it fast and correct, which is not easy (for me!) first my code so far with two classes, a StatsService and a StatsHarvester public class StatsService { private Map<String, Long> stats = new HashMap<String, Long>(1000); public void notify ( String key ) { Long value = 1l; synchronized (stats) { if (stats.containsKey(key)) { value = stats.get(key) + 1; } stats.put(key, value); } } public Map<String, Long> getStats ( ) { Map<String, Long> copy; synchronized (stats) { copy = new HashMap<String, Long>(stats); stats.clear(); } return copy; } } this is my second class, a harvester which collects the stats from time to time and writes them to a database. public class StatsHarvester implements Runnable { private StatsService statsService; private Thread t; public void init ( ) { t = new Thread(this); t.start(); } public synchronized void run ( ) { while (true) { try { wait(5 * 60 * 1000); // 5 minutes collectAndSave(); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } private void collectAndSave ( ) { Map<String, Long> stats = statsService.getStats(); // do something like: // saveRecords(stats); } } At runtime it will have about 30 concurrent running threads each calling notify(key) about 100 times. Only one StatsHarvester is calling statsService.getStats() So i have many writers and only one reader. it would be nice to have accurate stats but i don't care if some records are lost on high concurrency. The reader should run every 5 Minutes or whatever is reasonable. Writing should be as fast as possible. Reading should be fast but if it locks for about 300ms every 5 minutes, its fine. I've read many docs (Java concurrency in practice, effective java and so on), but i have the strong feeling that i need your advice to get it right. I hope i stated my problem clear and short enough to get valuable help.

    I really need help here. I'm pretty new to iOS/Objective-C so sorry if the problem resolution is obvious or if my code is terrible. Be easy on me!! :-) I'm struggling to integrate ZBarSDK for reading QR Codes into an iPad app i'm building. If I use ZBarReaderController (of which there are plenty of tutorials and guides on implementing), it works fine. However I want to make the camera come up in a UIView as opposed to the fullscreen camera. Now I have gotten as far as making the camera view (readerView) come up in the UIView (ZBarReaderView) as expected, but I get an error when it scans a code. The error does not come up until a code is scanned making me believe this is either delegate related or something else.   • Acrobat Reader ActiveX in WebBrowser stealing focus [C#]

    I'm using webBrowser.Navigate(url) control to display page. I noticed this action steals focus from current control (grid) and than I have problem to focus grid back (tired myGrid.Focus, .Select etc...) This is really annoying behaviour of browser... Does anyone knows how to prevent focus stealing by Browser or (if not) hot to force to focus control back ? EDIT: I've also tried webBrowser.DocumentCompleted event to focus back to grid EDIT 2 Good case to test this is openning PDF files webBrowser.Navigate(@"C:\TEMP\test.pdf") I believe this is ActiveX issue. On first glance it looks that this is not problem with focusing control but loosing entire Form focus... EDIT 3 I tried another approach: Form keyPress event: I thought I can capture form's keyPress and move focus from WebBrowser / AdobeReader ActiveX to my control. But surprisingly event is not fired! Looks Reader taken all control and there is no way to do anything programically until you do mouse click on (at least) form's caption Any advice (s) ?

  • Printing PDFs Server-side using Acrobat Reader from ASP.NET

    Hi, I have been presented with a problem which requires me to print PDF files from a server as part of an ASP.NET web service. The problem is further complicated by the fact that the PDF files I have to print can ONLY be printed using Adobe Reader (they were created using Adobe LiveCycle and have some strange protection in them). This piece of code seems to do the trick in the Visual Studio development web server, but doesn't do anything when the site's running in IIS. I'm assuming this is probably some sort of permissions issue!? I know this is a FAR from ideal thing to be trying to do, but I haven't really got much choice! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!   • Is there a fingerprint reader api/sdk?

    I need to read the user's fingerprint from my application. What I really want is a simple SDK that works with a lot of inexpensive fingerprint readers but I can deal with something that works only with one specific model if that model is cheap and available worldwide. And it has to be royalty-free, I can pay for a development license but if I have to pay for each installation I just can't use it. What I'm doing has no relation to login or encryption, so the software included with the reader will probably be useless to me.

How can I write interfaces for these structures in JNA?
