    Hello, I have switched to using emacs-ess for my R code development and it is working great. I would like to be able to write some small R code I am using for debugging my R script into the scratch buffer, and be able to execute the scratch buffer code in the R process buffer. I've found how I could change the scratch buffer's mode to text by putting the following in the .emacs file: (setq initial-major-mode 'text-mode) Is there a similar statement I can put in my .emacs file that would make the scratch buffer have the ess-mode? I tried the following which results in an error about wrong type argument: (setq initial-major-mode 'ess-mode)

How can I fix this? Or in other words, how can I make a javascript function execute in the order I write it on the page...

Using Solaris RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), one can give a non-root user permissions to execute those commands, but the commands still fail internally. Example: $pfexec /opt/11.1.0/crs/bin/crs_stop SomeArg CRS-0259: Owner of the resource does not belong to the group. Is there a complete RBAC solution for Oracle RAC or does the executor need to be root?   • Python doesn't work properly when I execute a script after using Right Click >> Command Prompt Here

    This is a weird bug. I know it's something funky going on with my PATH variable, but no idea how to fix it. If I have a script C:\Test\test.py and I execute it from within IDLE, it works fine. If I open up Command Prompt using Runcmd.exe and navigate manually it works fine. But if I use Windows 7's convenient Right Click on folder Command Prompt Here then type test.py it fails with import errors. I also cannot just type "python" to reach a python shell session if I use the latter method above. Any ideas?

Of course, the ugly way is: execAll : function(callBack) { asynch1(function() { asynch2(function() { ... asynchN(function() { callBack(); }) }) }); } But I know there are better ways to do it. Intuitively I would detect when all call back has been called with a counter to call the final callback.     I have a job which is calling 10 other jobs using sp_start_job. The job is having 10 steps, each step calling each sub jobs, When i execute the main job, i can see it started with step 1 and in a few secods it shows 'finished successfully' But the jobs take long time time, and when i see the log mechanism i have put inside , it shows the all the 10 steps are running simultaniously at the back, till it finishes after few hours. My requirement is, it should finish step 1 first and then only step2 should start. aNY HELP PLS ?

I am getting the following error in my VBScripts: C:\temp\vbs\script.vbs(19, 53) Microsoft VBScript compilation error: Expected statement' For a line of code that looks like this: wdoc.Application.Selection.Find.Execute Replace:=wdReplaceAll This is interfacing with Microsft Word in Office 2007 to conduct a search and replace. Index 53 point directly to the := part of the assignment. Since this type of syntax doesn't work on my machine and I am using it from several websites, I was wondering if the cscript.exe I use is out of date. Am I not calling cscript properly?

I have the resizing code working OK, but cannot get the actual code to execute reliably at the right time. However, every so often the script doesn't execute.     Hi all, just wondering if anyone could suggest why I might be getting an error? I'm currently trying to execute a macro in a workbook by calling the Application.Run method that the interop exposes. It's currently throwing the following COM Exception: {System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800A03EC): Cannot run the macro Macro1'. The macro may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled. I've put the containing workbook in a trusted location, set all of the security settings to their minimum values, and trusted programmatic access to my object model. I'm entirely out of ideas and Google's failed me so far! Has anyone done this, or can you suggest anything which I could try? Many thanks!
