2 google analytics profiles for 2 sections of the same site

Ive got a website which for the most part is a portfolio, there is another section of the site mysite.com/micro-site which ranks extremely well for it chosen term / topic, and brings in lots of traffic, but actually has little to do with the core business. It was really made as a piece of content - in the same way sites like this are - http://chrome.com/campaigns/rollit For the main site i use 1 Google analytics profile and set of tags, for the micro site i have a completely different analytics profile and set of tags. The main reason ive done this is because the traffic stats and insights for the micro site are essentially just noise, its nice to have the traffic but they dont help when reading analytics reports, so if they were combined my analytics reports would be a mess. Is there any disadvantage / negatives of doing this ?

Will Tracking Subdomains as Single Entity with Google Analytics Help SEO? [closed]

Possible Duplicate: Does Google Analytics data affect SEO? We have two subdomains, one for our blog and one for our ecommerce store. The blog serves to bring traffic and the store is how we monetize the site. We have them designed to appear as one large site, but I know google sees them as two sites. Here is how the subdomains look: www.example.com (store) blog.example.com (blog) I believe I can configure analytics to use subdomain tracking as explained here: http://support.google.com/googleanalytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=55524 But my question is whether this will cause google to see our 2 subdomains as one larger domain for SEO purposes. In other words, is there any relationship to how you configure google analytics and how google indexes and ranks your website(s) and pages? Is there anything I need to do in anaytics or webmaster tools to make google aware that these two subdomains work together as one website? Thanks! Sam

No Sound in HTML5 and Google Chrome after update to 13.10

After upgrading to Ubuntu 13.10 i have no sound for HTML5 players in Google Chrome Browser. Firefox works. Flash Players are working. No sound on Youtube when using HTML5. No sound on vimeo (They have html5 player as standard). When I open the soundapplication, google doesn't show up when I try to play a html5 video. But it shows up, when playing a Flash Video. Youtube showing horizontal lines when full screen in google chrome

First, im new in ubuntu so please bear with me. My google chrome shows strange behavior when playing youtube videos in full screen mode. There will be some horizontal white lines, which is exactly like when you playing the game without the vsync. I've checked firefox and the videos working perfectly in there. I also tried to play videos from my HDD using VLC player and its working fine. It seems the problem is in the google chrome alone. My version of ubuntu is 13.04, my laptop is asus n46vz and i use the latest release of google chrome. I've tried to ask google, but it seems he has no answer. Thanks for your time :D

Chromium and Google Chrome downloading

Well, I have sincerely enjoyed having Google Chrome on my linux machine, and have never had any problems until recently. I found that Google Chrome will simply not allow redirected downloads to start. I can download from direct links, but not pages that redirect and "Start in 3 seconds..." I immediately assumed it was the webpage itself, so I refreshed many times. I then restarted the browser, and after another failed attempt, my computer. After that point, I suspected my internet provider was to blame. I tried the redirection link in an alternative browser (Midori), and it worked perfectly fine. I decided it must be the version of Chrome that Google put out, so I quickly installed Chromium, and to my dismay, ran across the same problem. I can live with copying and pasting the url into Midori for redirected links, but I'd like the convenience of staying in my main browser. Thank you for any advice in advance. c:

I use Xubuntu 12.04. I uninstalled Firefox and now use Google Chrome version 19.xxx. To solve this problem, I tried: galternatives the "default apps" under settings and sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser Neither of these worked. Does anybody have an alternative solution for this? -- Solution: I used the "sudo gedit /usr/share/applications/defaults.list" tip from ??? and searched for firefox in the whole document! Everytime I found "firefox" I replaced it with "google-chrome.desktop". I also used the "default apps" menu to change it to google-chrome. And now it works.. I hope it helps some other ;-)

Can add-ons have registered names in Google Chrome add-ons? I created a Youtube add-on and would like to add the Youtube term in my add-on name to better gain attention from users. I want to use it in the purpose of "fair use". Mozilla Add-ons are loose in restrictions about names but I see that there are not many add-ons containing Youtube or Facebook inside Chrome Market. Does that mean Chrome editors do not allow Registered terms inside the add-on names and should this be avoided?

Google indexing wrong domain that does not work

Can anyone tell me why Google indexes a site http://0.3c.7aae.static.theplanet.com instead of the actual domain name (my domain was registered with webmaster tools). The aforementioned link was linking to my site, but has now become a broken link. Initially I tried 301 directs, but nothing worked. The hosting company cannot explain why. Leaving me wondering what to do? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thks

I've got a site that's showing a 9% CTR for a phrase in Google Webmaster Tools, but the average position for my site is 14th (this includes 7 local results for this phrase). I was a little confused as to what the CTR actually meant, is it : for each person who searches for that phrase 9% of them click my site. or for each person who actually sees my site in the search results 9% of them click through (bearing in mind 14th is high on page 2 when the local listings are used).

check when a page was first seen by google

Is there a way to see when a page was first published, by checking when it was first cahced by google (obviously its not 100% fool proof because there is a couple of days delay in some cases but it will give you a good idea.) The only other way i could think of checking it published date is if the page / post had a publicly viable time stamp on it, but in the case im looking for it, it dosnt have a publicly visible time stamp.

Do you prefer playing classic games rather than the newer ones? Then get ready for some classic goodness with the JC-Tetris extension for Google Chrome. JC-Tetris in Action When you click on your new “JC-Tetris Toolbar Button” a new mini-Chrome window will open with the game displayed inside. This could be very convenient for those who would like or need to pause the game, minimize the window, and finish the game later. All that is needed to play are the four “Arrow Keys & the Space Bar”. Note: The text was small when the window first opened during our test so we used the “Ctrl +” keyboard shortcut twice to enlarge it. You may or may not experience similar text size results. Like any Tetris game things start out “quietly enough” but this one speeds up quickly, so be prepared! Notice that you do get a warning of what is waiting to drop onto the game board on the left side. Whenever you complete a game you will see this small window asking if you would like to enter a name for the score…you can easily ignore/bypass the window by clicking “Cancel”. ok first I'm not sure if this is right stackexchange site to ask but I'm not sure if there is better one as question is quite general When I visit one site, and if this site runs google adsense campaign, I can see its ads on other sites. I suppose this is cookie from this site and than it's showing ads using the cookie However, I removed this specific cookie and cleared cache, and I can still see this same ad showing on other sites running adsense My question is, is there is something wrong with google chrome, is there a possibility that Google stores data within google chrome itself? If not, how else they could trace which ads to show?

API access to a manually-created Google Map

I have a number of public custom Google Maps created via http://maps.google.com/ - obviously associated with my google account. Can I access these maps via the Google Maps javascript api? The api doesn't appear to work with the manually created maps located on maps.google.com from what I can tell? And if not, is there another way to store overlay data (markers, etc) that the javascript api can grab and load into the map on the client's browser? Am thinking a service like dabbleDB, except that I don't think they offer write access via javascript (this would be necessary for the user adding markers to the map, for example) Obviously I could create a db layer on my server, but am looking for a 'cloud' solution that removes the strain from my databases!!

Google Maps 3.0 - Sometimes after removing markers, they stay around...

Sometimes when I remove markers they stay around in a "ghost" fashion -- they are clickable but there's no more icon. This is not every time and usually only happens when I remove more than one at a time. Here's my code for removing markers: for(var i in markers) { google.maps.event.clearListeners(markers[i], "click"); markers[i].setMap(null); markers[i] = null; delete markers[i]; } The only way to guarantee that they get removed 100% of the time is to move the map to another position. Then when I move it back they are gone 100% of the time. Thanks for your help.

Why Google skips page title

I have no idea why this is happening. An example http://www.londonofficespace.com/ofdj17062004934429t.htm Title tag is: Unfurnished Office Space Wimbledon – Serviced Office on Lombard Road SW19 But is indexed as: Lombard Road – SW19 - London Office Space If you look in the source code and search for this portion ‘Lombard Road – SW19’ You then find that it's next to an office image alt=’Lombard Road – SW19’. The only thing I could think of is that the spider somehow ‘skips’ our title tag and grabs this bit, and then inserts the name of the site (but WHY?) Is there anything I can do with this? or is this a Google behaviour?

Google Webmaster Tools is showing duplicate URLs based on page title differences

I have 700+ title tag duplicates showing in WMT. Every first link in that picture is as duplicate link of second one. I don't know from where the first link got indexed by Google when that link doesn't exist in the site. It's showing the title of every page as link. Original link: http://www.sitename.com/job/407/Swedish-plus-Any-other-Nordic-Language-Customer-Service-Representative-Dublin-Ireland. Duplicate link: http://www.sitename.com/job/407/Swedish-plus-Any-other-Nordic-Language-Customer-Service-Representative-Dublin-Ireland-Ireland. How can this happen? I have checked entire site I didn't find where the second version is linked. I have no images linked to with duplicated version of URL.

Customizing Google Sites look and feel

I find the site layout and theming capabilities in Google Sites (found in the Manage Site screen) very limited; for instance, I do not seem to be able to place the horizontal navigation buttons directly to the right of the logo and to customize their style, as well as to use the standard trick of making a horizontally stretchable background image of a box with rounded corners by splitting it into three parts and replicating the middle one, etc. Am I missing something? Are there any advanced settings available? Thanks.
