  • Not allowing next jqueryui.show() animation to start without finishing previous one

    Im using jquery &jquery UI. $.each(data, function(count,item) { showItem(item); // Dont continue without showItem finishing }); function showItem(item) { $('#div-container').prepend(renderItem(item)); $("#div-container div.block:first").show('blind',{},500,function(){}); } Works, but when there are 3 items in data, it animates all 3 in one go. I need this done one-by-one. How do I tell .show() to execute the next show() after the previous one is completed ? Or do I specify this in each() ?

    Fiddle Full Screen Example I use jQuery dialog to open tables. Some of them have a large amount of text and they tend to be too long and go way off the screen. How can I make the dialog wider if the table is too long like the first one in the fiddle? I've tried width:'auto' but it seems to just occupy the entire screen.     I've got several script.aculo.us Ajax.Autocomplete controls on a page and when the drop down div is rendered it's always stuck behind the other text boxes on the page, no matter what I do with zIndex and positioning. The problem occurs in IE and FF. Anyone else run into this? Am I missing something, or is this just life with this control?

    Is there a way to make emacs pull autocompletions of ruby methods the way Eclipse and NetBeans do? That is if I type File. and press CTRL-space in Eclipse I will get a list of File methods. Same with variables. I have installed autocomplete plugin, ruby-mode, rinari and cedet, but so far it will complete local variable and method names, but will not native ones.

    I am using the following code as part of an autocomplete script to avoid hammering the server with every keystroke: var that = this; textInput.bind("keyup", function() { clearTimeout(that.timer); that.timer = setTimeout (that.doStuff(), 2000); }); Unfortunately, this does not clear the old timers. They still all execute. Does anyone know what I'm missing? Thanks!

When I use netbeans. I do nothing, but the autocomplete function works well.

My question is can I get the same functioanlity in .NET somewhere without a control. In other words I want something like string[] ProgressivePartialMatch( string[] Strings, string MatchText ) and so I want the strings back that would have showed up in the auto complete so to speak
