In Eclipse I used to be able to select a line by clicking the line number. I don't know exactly when it stopped working. Is this controlled by a Preference?
When I type in a nonexistent command it says "Command not found." and then waits for about 5 seconds before showing the prompt again.
How do I fix that?
I'm using Fedora.
I'm currently trying to run the following command from within a shell script.
/usr/bin/mysql -u username -ppassword -h localhost database
It works perfectly fine when executed manually, and not from within a script. When I try to execute a script that contains that command, I get the following error:
ERROR 1045 (28000) at line 3: Access denied…
I use MusicBrainz Picard to manage the ID3 tags on my MP3 collection and iTunes for playing them and managing my iPod. I have Picard set to remove the Composer tag from any files that don't also contain the word "Classical" in the Genre tag.
I've run Picard and it has removed the Composer tag from many of my files. However, iTunes keeps…
We are using Fogbugz on our server to do customer support emails. Occasionally we get errors coming back when sending emails which say:
550 relay not permitted
This seems to happen at random though, sometimes sending an email to a person works, next time to the same person it'll bounce back.
I've tried setting up reverse DNS with the…
I am familiar with using both Versions and Cornerstone on Mac - they are fantastic and incredibly simple to use... but I don't want to always rely on being able to borrow my girlfriend's MacBook so need to find an alternative for my Windows machine.
Can anyone please recommend a good subversion client? I have experimented using Tortoise…
I've just taken over the administration of a Windows 2008 web server from a previous employee on a temporary basis. I need to change the Admin password as soon as I can but I've noticed that quite a few of the services also run under this account. So:
Is there a quick way to find out
which services will be affected by
me changing the…
I've published an ebook in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. I sell this ebook DRM free and take what I consider a friendlier/less obtrusive approach of using a service to "stamp" the customer's name and email address onto each page of the ebook as a way to discourage piracy.
I would like to take this same approach for selling the ebook in…
I have several distribution lists in Outlook 2003 that I need to move to Gmail. While transferring contacts in the main folder is fairly easy—all one does is export to CSV and import—it's not as easy with the distribution lists.
I can't (don't know how to) copy the contacts from the lists to the main contact folder so they can be…
I am maintaining a large number of wordpress installs on a production server, and we are looking to deploy InfiniteWP for managing these installs. I am looking for a way to script the distribution of the plugin folder to all of these installs.
On server wp-prod, all sites are stored in /srv//site/
The plugin needs to be copied…
Hi,
I use the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit to install images and applications using a Lite-touch installation method. I would like to automatically add the icons to the "superbar" after installation so the users will be more inclined to use the improved task bar, rather than continuing to use desktop icons.
I understand…
I'm looking for a supplier for hosting a Virtual server, running Windows Server 2008 (R2 ideally) and .NET 4 to run an internet facing ASP.NET web application.
I'd also like to be able to remote desktop onto it, and install other apps as necessary, including other websites as and when.
I'm based in the UK, so a UK based…
My dad uses Skype to make calls to Vietnam PSTN, but finds that the rates are a little on the pricey side. It's probably not relevant, but he's living in Thailand right now. Is there an application similar to Skype, which is cheaper for calling Vietnam?
The answer may well be no, since maybe the international telecom…
I need an easy way to do system stability tests. I have come to rely on Prime95 which does a fantastic job of proving stability (or instability) very quickly; but it requires an OS installed.
I would like something like Prime95 that stresses both CPU and RAM (maybe PCI-Ex bus also?) but runs in a nice bootable binary…
I have an Ubuntu Server running KVM. I'd like to get the benefits of ZFS so I was thinking of installing a virtual machine under KVM running Nexenta (or NexentaStor), allowing that virtual machine to have raw access to a couple of physical hard disks, and then having it share its file system with NFS so that Ubuntu…
For about 6 months now I have been having this weird problem where Windows 7 fails to fully boot correctly. What happens is this.
Starting Windows shows up on the screen.
Then 3 out of 4 times nothing else happens, no Windows Flag animation, just nothing occurs.
After 3 or 4 restarts repeating steps 1-2 above,…
When attempting to validate my site with the W3C validator, it returns the error, "Don't know how to decode Content-Encoding 'none'". Firebug confirms that my server is sending the header, "Content-Encoding: none".
But I can't find any directive in apache2.conf or in my vhost that sets the Content-Encoding header.…
I was trying to migrate a Win7 OS from a HDD to a SSD.
I've created 2 partition with 1024KB offset, with diskpart: 100MB System Reserved and a 60GB for C:.
I've cloned their contents using Easeus Disk Copy.
I've loaded the Windows 7 Boot DVD, and wanted to use diskpart to drop the letter for the System…
I'm using Windows Server 2003. I have the FTP services installed, router set to DMZ, and currently Anonymous logins allowed. (I know, security risk, but there's nothing important on there and not worried at the moment)
So here's the thing... I can ftp to my computer, list directory, get files etc, BUT only…
In several applications, the Save and Load dialog windows are just not showing. And in notepad (which obviously handles the return code) is reporting an out of memory issue, which I'm sure is not the case; I think it's assuming it's out of memory as it can't get the window handle. In any case, there's…
SharePoint MOSS 2007 on 64 bit OS and SQL. Added a new Web Front End to our farm, all sites seem to work fine - but now we've noticed that the search service has completely stopped working. It works if I change my host file to point to the original WFE, but if I use the NLB IP or the IP of the new…
There's plenty of references to this error on Goggle, and even a question here with the same title, but it seems that "access denied by server while mounting" is a catch-all error. I've tried suggestions that others have used to fix this problem, but they did not work in my case.
I'm trying to…

Not sure if this is the right site to ask this, but here it goes:
Let's say I'd like to share a couple of private files with a few friends. The size of these are quite large, so I've figured the best route to distribute these is via torrent.
So, on my home PC I create a torrent and start…
I've looked into mobile 3G, but the download limits seem to be very low; the best I've seen is 10GB (from Orange). Ideally, I could go for something like ADSL, but the problem is that I'd need BT land-line, and isn't the minimum contract 12 months? Are there any other options I haven't…
