  • openvpn: after changing to server mode, client does not create TUN device

    - by lurscher
i had a previously working configuration with the config files used in a previous question However, i've changed this now to the following configuration using server mode, everything on the logs seem fine, however the client doesn't create any tun interface, so i don't have anything to connect to, presumably, i need to add or push some route commands, but i don't have any idea at this point what i need to do. I am posting all my relevant configuration files server.conf: dev tun server 10.8.117.0 255.255.255.0 ifconfig-pool-persist ipp.txt tls-server dh /home/lurscher/keys/dh1024.pem ca /home/lurscher/keys/ca.crt cert /home/lurscher/keys/vpnCh8TestServer.crt key /home/lurscher/keys/vpnCh8TestServer.key status openvpn-status.log log openvpn.log comp-lzo verb 3 and client.conf: dev tun remote my.server.com tls-client ca /home/chuckq/keys/ca.crt cert /home/chuckq/keys/vpnCh8TestClient.crt key /home/chuckq/keys/vpnCh8TestClient.key ns-cert-type server ; port 1194 ; user nobody ; group nogroup status openvpn-status.log log openvpn.log comp-lzo verb 3 the server ifconfig shows a tun device: tun0 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 inet addr:10.8.117.1 P-t-P:10.8.117.2 Mask:255.255.255.255 UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:100 RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B) However the client ifconfig does not show any tun interface! $ ifconfig tun0 tun0 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 POINTOPOINT NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:100 RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B) the client log says: Tue May 17 23:27:09 2011 OpenVPN 2.1.0 i686-pc-linux-gnu [SSL] [LZO2] [EPOLL] [PKCS11] [MH] [PF_INET6] [eurephia] built on Jul 12 2010 Tue May 17 23:27:09 2011 IMPORTANT: OpenVPN's default port number is now 1194, based on an official port number assignment by IANA. • test filenames for regex patterns in bash

I'm not sure exactly how the code should be written but I want to test a file/folder for naming patterns, something like: if [ -d $i ] && [ regex([0-9].,$i) { do something } I want it to check if the file/folder is a directory and that the name of it is a number (i.e. 1 or 101 or 10007)...

  • Email server can send internal, but messages never arrive at external recipients

    - by Chase Florell
I'm running MailEnable on my server, and have been for many years. Recently we had an attack on our server, and I was able to close the hole. Since then, our mail server doesn't seem to be sending mail out. If I send an email from myself to another account hosted on the server, the email arrives as expected. If I send an email from my gmail account to my business account, the email also arrives as expected The problem comes when I send from my business account to an external domain I tried the following Gmail.com Hotmail.com Shaw.ca When I send to any of the above The message leaves my client as expected, The logs appear to accept and forward on the message The SMTP outbound que is empty The message never arrives I have checked our domain with mxtoolbox.com senderbase.org And neither of them are reporting any problems with our domain. I have ensured that port 25 is open (along with the other standard ports) Here is one of the log entries from the SMTP connector 11/05/13 12:10:00 SMTP-IN 494C0AF55CD0400FB90FD5E6525BC885.MAI 1312 127.0.0.1 220 mx1.example.com ESMTP MailEnable Service, Version: 6.81--6.81 ready at 11/05/13 12:10:00 0 0 11/05/13 12:10:00 SMTP-IN 494C0AF55CD0400FB90FD5E6525BC885.MAI 1312 127.0.0.1 EHLO EHLO ASSP.nospam 250-mx1.example.com [127.0.0.1], this server offers 6 extensions 159 18 11/05/13 12:10:00 SMTP-IN 494C0AF55CD0400FB90FD5E6525BC885.MAI 1312 127.0.0.1 EHLO EHLO ASSP.nospam 250-mx1.example.com [127.0.0.1], this server offers 6 extensions 159 18 11/05/13 12:10:01 SMTP-IN 494C0AF55CD0400FB90FD5E6525BC885.MAI 1312 127.0.0.1 AUTH AUTH LOGIN 334 VXNlcm5hbWU6 18 12 11/05/13 12:10:01 SMTP-IN 494C0AF55CD0400FB90FD5E6525BC885.MAI 1312 127.0.0.1 AUTH {blank} 334 UGFzc3dvcmQ6 18 26 [email protected] 11/05/13 12:10:01 SMTP-IN 494C0AF55CD0400FB90FD5E6525BC885.MAI 1312 127.0.0.1 AUTH Y29sb25lbGZhY2U= 235 Authenticated 19 18 [email protected] 11/05/13 12:10:01 SMTP-IN 494C0AF55CD0400FB90FD5E6525BC885.MAI 1312 127.0.0.1 MAIL MAIL FROM:<[email protected]> 250 Requested mail action okay, completed 43 31 [email protected] 11/05/13 12:10:01 SMTP-IN 494C0AF55CD0400FB90FD5E6525BC885.MAI 1312 127.0.0.1 RCPT RCPT TO:<[email protected]> 250 Requested mail action okay, completed 43 35 [email protected] 11/05/13 12:10:01 SMTP-IN 494C0AF55CD0400FB90FD5E6525BC885.MAI 1312 127.0.0.1 DATA DATA 354 Start mail input; end with <CRLF>.<CRLF> 46 6 [email protected] Here are the headers of the sent message X-Assp-Version: 1.7.5.7(1.0.07) on ASSP.nospam X-Assp-ID: ASSP.nospam 78601-04523 X-Assp-Intended-For: [email protected] X-Assp-Envelope-From: [email protected] Received: from [10.10.1.101] ([68.147.245.149] helo=[10.10.1.101]) with IPv4:587 by ASSP.nospam; 5 Nov 2013 12:10:00 -0700 From: Chase Florell <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Subject: Test Message Message-Id: <[email protected]> Date: Tue, 5 Nov 2013 12:10:18 -0700 To: Chase Florell <[email protected]> Mime-Version: 1.0 (Mac OS X Mail 7.0 \(1816\)) X-Mailer: Apple Mail (2.1816) . I can actually extract more information just viewing the RAW file. What is the best ( and preferably easiest) way to just view all the contents of the pcap file? • Corosync :: Restarting some resources after Lan connectivity issue

    - by moebius_eye
    I am currently looking into corosync to build a two-node cluster. So, I've got it working fine, and it does what I want to do, which is: Lost connectivity between the two nodes gives the first node '10node' both Failover Wan IPs. (aka resources WanCluster100 and WanCluster101 ) '11node' does nothing. He "thinks" he still has his Failover Wan IP. (aka WanCluster101) But it doesn't do this: '11node' should restart the WanCluster101 resource when the connectivity with the other node is back. This is to prevent a condition where node10 simply dies (and thus does not get 11node's Failover Wan IP), resulting in a situation where none of the nodes have 10node's failover IP because 10node is down 11node has "given back" his failover Wan IP. Here's the current configuration I'm working on. node 10sch \ attributes standby="off" node 11sch \ attributes standby="off" primitive LanCluster100 ocf:heartbeat:IPaddr2 \ params ip="172.25.0.100" cidr_netmask="32" nic="eth3" \ op monitor interval="10s" \ meta is-managed="true" target-role="Started" primitive LanCluster101 ocf:heartbeat:IPaddr2 \ params ip="172.25.0.101" cidr_netmask="32" nic="eth3" \ op monitor interval="10s" \ meta is-managed="true" target-role="Started" primitive Ping100 ocf:pacemaker:ping \ params host_list="192.0.2.1" multiplier="500" dampen="15s" \ op monitor interval="5s" \ meta target-role="Started" primitive Ping101 ocf:pacemaker:ping \ params host_list="192.0.2.1" multiplier="500" dampen="15s" \ op monitor interval="5s" \ meta target-role="Started" primitive WanCluster100 ocf:heartbeat:IPaddr2 \ params ip="192.0.2.100" cidr_netmask="32" nic="eth2" \ op monitor interval="10s" \ meta target-role="Started" primitive WanCluster101 ocf:heartbeat:IPaddr2 \ params ip="192.0.2.101" cidr_netmask="32" nic="eth2" \ op monitor interval="10s" \ meta target-role="Started" primitive Website0 ocf:heartbeat:apache \ params configfile="/etc/apache2/apache2.conf" options="-DSSL" \ operations $id="Website-one" \ op start interval="0" timeout="40" \ op stop interval="0" timeout="60" \ op monitor interval="10" timeout="120" start-delay="0" statusurl="http://127.0.0.1/server-status/" \ meta target-role="Started" primitive Website1 ocf:heartbeat:apache \ params configfile="/etc/apache2/apache2.conf.1" options="-DSSL" \ operations $id="Website-two" \ op start interval="0" timeout="40" \ op stop interval="0" timeout="60" \ op monitor interval="10" timeout="120" start-delay="0" statusurl="http://127.0.0.1/server-status/" \ meta target-role="Started" group All100 WanCluster100 LanCluster100 group All101 WanCluster101 LanCluster101 location AlwaysPing100WithNode10 Ping100 \ rule $id="AlWaysPing100WithNode10-rule" inf: #uname eq 10sch location AlwaysPing101WithNode11 Ping101 \ rule $id="AlWaysPing101WithNode11-rule" inf: #uname eq 11sch location NeverLan100WithNode11 LanCluster100 \ rule $id="RAND1083308" -inf: #uname eq 11sch location NeverPing100WithNode11 Ping100 \ rule $id="NeverPing100WithNode11-rule" -inf: #uname eq 11sch location NeverPing101WithNode10 Ping101 \ rule $id="NeverPing101WithNode10-rule" -inf: #uname eq 10sch location Website0NeedsConnectivity Website0 \ rule $id="Website0NeedsConnectivity-rule" -inf: not_defined pingd or pingd lte 0 location Website1NeedsConnectivity Website1 \ rule $id="Website1NeedsConnectivity-rule" -inf: not_defined pingd or pingd lte 0 colocation Never -inf: LanCluster101 LanCluster100 colocation Never2 -inf: WanCluster100 LanCluster101 colocation NeverBothWebsitesTogether -inf: Website0 Website1 property $id="cib-bootstrap-options" \ dc-version="1.1.7-ee0730e13d124c3d58f00016c3376a1de5323cff" \ cluster-infrastructure="openais" \ expected-quorum-votes="2" \ no-quorum-policy="ignore" \ stonith-enabled="false" \ last-lrm-refresh="1408954702" \ maintenance-mode="false" rsc_defaults $id="rsc-options" \ resource-stickiness="100" \ migration-threshold="3" I also have a less important question concerning this line: colocation NeverBothLans -inf: LanCluster101 LanCluster100 How do I tell it that this collocation only applies to '11node'.

  • How to dynamically reference a "partial template" in MS Word?

    - by scunliffe
I want to make use of an "external reference" in Word. (for anyone that knows AutoCAD, I want XREF abilities in Word) Essentially I have a custom "header" that I want included in a whole pile of documents... that all reference a single file... such that if my address, logo, tagline, phone, fax or email changes, I update the one file, and all of the other 101 files that use it automatically update when I next open/use them. I'm using Office 2007 if that makes any difference.

  • What is the netmask equivalent on the verision of route for the Mac

    - by Wes Reing
In order to create some special routes for debugging I used the following command on my linux server: sudo route add -net 10.78.0.0 netmask 255.255.0.0 gw 10.101.1.1 which works, and sets up the routes I need. But when I run the same command on my Mac I get: route: bad address: netmask I'm guessing that the version of route that is included in OS X requires a different format but I'm at a loss to figure it out.

Not sure if I put correct title but here is my problem: Local (home network) IIS 7, default web site bind to any IP on port 81, Anonymous Auth disabled, Windows Auth enabled If I go to 192.168.1.101:81/ I get asked for username and password. If I go to server:81/ nothing is being asked regardless whether connecting from local or another machine on the network. Why is that? Am I doing something wrong?

  • Will running CSF & Bastille cause any conflicts?

    - by MatW
I'm taking my first steps into the world of un-managed servers, and have confused myself whilst reading through the 101 tutorials on server hardening that Google spews out! The most recent advice I have been given is to install both CSF and Bastille on my server (used to serve a consumer-facing ecommerce site and act as the business' email server), but my understanding was that both of these tools were an abstraction layer above netfilter / iptables. Will installing both packages cause any conflicts, or do they play well together?

  • c++ optimize array of ints

    - by a432511
I have a 2D lookup table of int16_t. int16_t my_array[37][73] = {{**DATA HERE**}} I have a mixture of values that range from just above the range of int8_t to just below the range of int8_t and some of the values repeat themselves. I am trying to reduce the size of this lookup table. What I have done so far is split each int16_t value into two int8_t values to visualize the wasted bytes. int8_t part_1 = original_value >> 4; int8_t part_2 = original_value & 0x0000FFFF; // If the upper 4 bits of the original_value were empty if(part_1 == 0) wasted_bytes_count++; I can easily remove the zero value int8_t that are wasting a byte of space and I can also remove the duplicate values, but my question is how do I do remove those values while retaining the ability to lookup based on the two indices? I contemplated translating this into a 1D array and adding a number following each duplicated value that would represent the number of duplicates that were removed, but I am struggling with how I would then identify what is a lookup value and what is a duplicate count. Also, it is further complicated by stripping out the zero int8_t values that were wasted bytes. EDIT: This array is stored in ROM already. RAM is even more limited than ROM so it is already stored in ROM. EDIT: I am going to post a bounty for this question as soon as I can. I need a complete answer of how to store the information AND retrieve it. It does not need to be a 2D array as long as I can get the same values. EDIT: Adding the actual array below: - by Sampath
Application Architecture I am having a single ruby on rails application code running with multiple instances (ie. each client having identical sub domains) running on a multiple dedicated server using phusion passenger + nginx. sub domains setup done using vhost option in nginx passenger module. For Example server 1 serving 1 - 100 client with identical sub domains www.client1.product.com upto www.client100.product.com server 2 serving 101 - 200 client with identical sub domains www.client101.product.com upto www.client200.product.com server 3 serving 201 - 300 client with identical sub domains www.client201.product.com upto www.client300.product.com What my question is i need to centrally manage all my N dedicated servers using an gui tool I am looking for Web GUI tool to manage tasks like 1) backup all mysql databases automatically from all dedicated servers and send it to an some FTP backup drive 2) back files and folders from all dedicated servers and send it to an some FTP backup drive 3) need to manage firewall (CSF http://configserver.com/cp/csf.html) centrally for all dedicated servers 4) look to see server load , bandwidth used in graphical manner for all N no of dedicated servers Note: I am prefer to looking for an open source solution

  • GDD-BR 2010 [2F] Storage, Bigquery and Prediction APIs

GDD-BR 2010 [2F] Storage, Bigquery and Prediction APIs Speaker: Patrick Chanezon Track: Cloud Computing Time slot: F [15:30 - 16:15] Room: 2 Level: 101 Google is expanding our storage products by introducing Google Storage for Developers. It offers a RESTful API for storing and accessing data at Google. Developers can take advantage of the performance and reliability of Google's storage infrastructure, as well as the advanced security and sharing capabilities. We will demonstrate key functionality of the product as well as customer use cases. Google relies heavily on data analysis and has developed many tools to understand large datasets. Two of these tools are now available on a limited sign-up basis to developers: (1) BigQuery: interactive analysis of very large data sets and (2) Prediction API: make informed predictions from your data. We will demonstrate their use and give instructions on how to get access. From: GoogleDevelopers Views: 1 0 ratings Time: 39:27 More in Science & Technology

  • DirectCompute Lectures

    - by Daniel Moth
Previously I shared resources to get you started with DirectCompute, for taking advantage of GPGPUs in an a way that doesn't tie you to a hardware vendor (e.g. nvidia, amd). I just stumbled upon and had to share a lecture series on channel9 on DirectCompute! Here are direct links to the episodes that are up there now: DirectCompute Expert Roundtable Discussion DirectCompute Lecture Series 101- Introduction to DirectCompute DirectCompute Lecture Series 110- Memory Patterns DirectCompute Lecture Series 120- Basics of DirectCompute Application Development DirectCompute Lecture Series 210- GPU Optimizations and Performance DirectCompute Lecture Series 230- GPU Accelerated Physics DirectCompute Lecture Series 250- Integration with the Graphics Pipeline Having watched these I recommend them all, but if you only want to watch a few, I suggest #2, #3, #4 and #5. Also, you should download the "WMV (High)" so you can see the code clearly and be able to Ctrl+Shift+G for fast playback… TIP: To subscribe to channel9 GPU content, use this RSS feed. • Battling Emacs Pinky?

    - by haziz
My problem is not so much emacs pinky as much as having to work with multiple machines, across 3 operating systems, both desktop and laptop, with differing keyboard layouts and different locations for Ctrl and Alt\Meta keys so I often have to pause and think about where is the Ctrl key on this machine. How do you deal with varying keyboard layouts, between Mac keyboards (mostly the laptops) and PC keyboards (mostly 101 keys in my case, yes the original PC keyboard)? I have turned the Caps lock Key into a Ctrl key (losing the Caps lock function completely rather than swapping with Ctrl) on most of them but still find myself hunting for the original Ctrl labeled key most of the time. How do you deal with this keyboard confusion? Suggestions, ideas and feedback welcome.

Content builds from 101 level introductory material to 200-300 level coverage, but we hit some advanced bits (e.g. MVC 2 features, jQuery templating, IIS 7 features, etc.) that advanced developers may not yet have seen. We start with a lap around ASP.NET...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? We already have over 80 articles in several categories including Silverlight. Take a look: here.
