Hi,
how can I install the nVidia drivers for their graphics cards on a SLES11 system? I can only find HOWTOs for OpenSuse and they don't seem to work on SLES11.
I have a server running IIS and Plesk. There is a problem every day now in which the memory usage of PleskControlPanel.exe and w3wp.exe slowly increases. And at some point all of the sites hosted on the server go down.
Restarting Plesk through its panel will reset its memory usage for a while, and restarting IIS will make it last even longer, but…
I understand this is an open ended question and not quite sure how to add this to community wiki, if that is appropriate.
I am doing a little research on where small companies would go on the internet to get answers for technology related questions. Could be around sales, servers, programming, etc.
Clearly superuser.com, serverfault.com, and…
After trying to clone my primary drive, which requires a reboot to proceed, BitLocker detected that the boot sector had changed and required the recovery keys.
Not a good situation to be in on Sunday evening when it is your IT-department who hold the keys.
After talking with the guys at IT, I have tree suspects on why BitLocker locked me out:…
My excel macros are no longer working as designed.
Last week they worked as expected, this week a different result. I even tried a two year old version, it did not work the way it used to.
Guy's conclusion an Office / Excel update changed the macro behaviour. Am I alone in this conclusion? If so I'll take a different troubleshooting…
I have a non-domain machine that I use with our company's domain resources regularly. I upgraded to Windows 8, and the "Change a password" option went away from the Ctrl-Alt-Del window.
Can't seem to google anything about this subject, or find a way to access that password change dialog.
I tried running the .reg file from…
I have a single .flac file that encompasses multiple tracks comprising a music album along with the corresponding .cue file. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 with VLC player, and am trying to get VLC player to show the individual tracks and allow me to use the previous and next controls to move back and forth between tracks. The…
I have an ABIT KN9 motherboard. It has one PCI-e x16 slot, three PCI-e x4 slots and two legacy PCI. My problem is with the legacy PCI (which I shall just call "PCI".) I currently have an Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT (a low end card) installed in the x16 slot and a TV card in PCI #1; the x4 slots are unused, as is PCI #2. I plan…

I know this question has been asked many times (here and on TechNet), and the answer is usually "use RDP". But apparently, RDP is now the only option, and it's what I'm using.
My screen is an LCD TV with a resolution of 1360x768. Unfortunately, this resolution is apparently not supported; the closest I can get in a…
I backed up my internal hard drive (C:) using SyncBack onto an external (USB) hard drive with maximum compression. I then performed a clean install of Windows Vista onto the computer.
I forgot to copy the SyncBack logs before the clean install. And now when ever I try to restore a directory, the RAR/ZIP files…
Ok, here's the scenario:
Up until a few weeks ago, none of us noticed anything wrong with the corporate website. People were using it without complaint. Then, a client complained that a specific page on the site was timing out for him, and only when he committed a POST action on a form filled with data.
I…

I have 2 web servers with a load balancer in front of them.
They both have mounted a nfs share, so that they can share some common files, like images uploaded from the cms and some run time generated files.
Is nfs robust? Are there any specific weaknesses I should now about?
I know it does not support…
