  • WPF Radiobutton equivalent

    What is the WPF equivalent for WinForms radio button CheckedChanged? I have your basic 2 radio button set up, where when one is selected a textbox is enabled and when the other is selected it is disabled. For the time being I was using RadioButton_Checked, except, I set IsChecked true for one button in the xaml. When I reference the textbox in that Checked method it throws NullReferenceException... Let me know if you need code.

  • jQuery onkeyup event in textarea that does not fires when nothing change.

    I was thinking to a function that check the key value pressed, and accept only the most common characters, canc, enter, ... because i need it only for basic ascii character set (not ñ, c, chinese chars, ...). Or function that after every keyup checks if value has changed. But really jQuery doesn't have an event handler for this situation? Oh, it should be cross-borwser.

    I'm setting up an SSO for Active Directory users through a website that runs on an Apache (Apache2 on SLES 11.1), and when testing with Firefox it all works fine. But when I try to open the website in Internet Explorer 8 (Windows 7), all I get is "Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. My application uses a database that I'm currently storing in SQL Server. This works fine while I'm coding since I created the database manually on my computer. I see that VS2008 has created an .exe in my bin/debug folder, but how do I ensure that any new users (that doesn't already have the database) doing a fresh install gets the database also?

  • Binding a wpf listbox to a combobox

    Hi there, I have created a very basic wpf application that I want to use to record time entries against different projects. I havent used mvvm for this as I think its an overkill. I have a form that contains a combobox and a listbox. I have created a basic entity model like this What I am trying to do is bind the combobox to Project and whenever I select an item from the combobox it updates the listview with the available tasks associated with that project. This is my xaml so far. I dont have any code behind as I have simply clicked on that Data menu and then datasources and dragged and dropped the items over. The application loads ok and the combobox is been populated however nothing is displaying in the listbox.   • Ubuntu software stack to mimic Active Directory auth

    I'm going to have an Ubuntu 11.10 box in a customer's data center running a custom webapp. The customer will not have ssh access to the box, but will need authentication and authorization to access the webapp. The customer needs to have the option of either pointing the webapp at something that we've installed locally on the machine, or to use an Active Directory server that they have. I plan on using a standard "users belong to groups; groups have sets of permissions; the webapp requires certain permissions to respond" auth setup. What software stack can I install locally that will allow an easy switch to and from an Active Directory server, while keeping the configuration as simple as possible (both for me and the end customer)? I would like to use as much off-the-shelf software for this as possible; I do not want to be in the business of keeping user passwords secure. I could see handling the user/group/permission relationships myself if there is not a good out-of-the-box solution (but that seems highly unlikely). I will accept answers in the form of links to "here is what you need" pages, but not "here is what Kerberos does" unless that page also tells me if it's required for my use case (essentially, I know that AD can speak Kerberos, but I can't tell if I need it to, or if I can just use LDAP, or...).

    Hi everybody. I'm working with gwtai to integrate a java applet into my gwt - project. Basic communication from my main application to the applet (such as invoking simple methods that return int or boolean values) works. But the main reason why I need to integrate this applet is, that I need it to connect to another server and receive a answer and pass it to my gwt-application. So there's one basic method in the applet: public String SendAndReceive(String host, int sendPort, int receivePort, String query) that connects to the server, receives an answer and returns this answer as a string. When I now try to invoke this method like this: applet.SendAndReceive("0.0.0.0", 9099, 2000, "show streams;"); I constantly run into following error (full error message at the end): com.google.gwt.core.client.JavaScriptException: (String): Error calling method on NPObject! [plugin exception: java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission * read,write)] I couldn't find a solution (for gwtai is a quite uncommon topic), what I found out (and what the Exception let's one assume) is, that there's a security problem - maybe because I'm connecting to another server. I also read something about browser's Single Origin Policy, what would point in the same direction...up to now I have never worked with java applets. So if someone has a solution or a hint I would be very thankful. If more code is helpful I can give.     Wondering if someone can help me with the following. I have updated my Linksys router with TomatoVPN and used the following config: Interface Type:TAP Protocol:UDP Port:1195 Firewall Custom Authorization Mode:Static Key I have then inserted the static key generated in OpenVPN saved and started the service. connect.ovpn. # Use the following to have your client computer send all traffic through your router # (remote gateway) remote (entered my DNS/DHCP servers external IP address here) port 1195 dev tap secret static.key.txt proto udp comp-lzo route-gateway 192.168.1.1 redirect-gateway float I've then placed my static key in a file in the same directory as your connect.ovpn (static.key.txt) Now OpenVPN is installed on a laptop that I use at home. I have plugged in the laptop to my home connection and started connect.ovpn The Local Area Connection is connected as 'Home Network 3' - and when I start OpenVPN it is connected as 'Local Area Connection 2' and this is showing as 'Unidentified Network' and it appears there is no network access. TAP-Win32 Adapter V9 appears to be the adaptors name and the IP and DNS properties are set to automatic. If I open up the OpenVPN GUI it shows an error message saying "Connecting to connect has failed". Looking at the error message behind this pop-up one line says "TCP/UDP Socket bind failed on local address [undef]:1195 Address already in use [WSAEADDRINUSE] Could anyone possibly help me further with this please?

  • How to arrange models, views, controllers in a Kohana 3 project

    I'm looking at how to set up a mid-sized web application with Kohana 3. I have implemented MVC patterns in the past but never worked against a "formalized" MVC framework so I'm still getting my head around the terminology - toying around with basic examples, building views and templates, and so on. I'm progressing fairly well but I want to set up a real-world web project (one of my own that I've been planning for quite some time now) as a learning object. I learn best by example, but example-based documentation is a bit sparse for Kohana 3 right now - they say so themselves on the site. While I'm not worried about getting into the framework soon enough, I'm a bit concerned about arranging a healthily structured code base from the start - i.e. how to split up controllers, how to name them, and how to separate the functionality into the appropriate models. My application could, in its core, be described as a business directory with a main businesses table. Businesses can be listed by category and by street name. Each business has a detail page. Business owners can log in and edit their business's entry. Businesses can post offers into an offers table. I know this is not very detailed, but I don't want to cram too much information into this question. I'll be more than happy to go into more detail if needed. Supposing I have all the basic functionality worked out and in place already - list all businesses, edit business, list businesses by street name, create offer logged in as business, and so on, and I'm just looking for how to fit the functionality into a MVC pattern and into a Kohana application structure that can be easily extended: Do you know real-life, publicly accessible examples of "database-heavy" applications like directories, online communities... with a log-in area built on Kohana 3 where I could take a peek how they do it? Are there conventions or best practices on how to structure an extendable login area for end users in a Kohana project that is not only able to handle a business directory page, but further products on separate pages as well? Do you know application structuring HOWTOs or best practices for Kohana 3 not mentioned in the user guide and the inofficial Wiki? Have you built something similar and could give me some recommendations?

  • Youtube video processing on iPhone

    Hey In my iPhone app, I want to load a video from youtube, perform some basic image processing on it and display it to the user. I am using openCV to do my image processing, and I know I can use it for grabbing all of the frames from the video as well (cvRetrieveFrame). My only problem is that cvRetrieveFrame expects to get its source of type CvCapture* which can be created either by a camera source or by a file name. How can I set a youtube video file as the source for CvCapture*? Thanks,

  • How can I map a Windows group login to the dbo schema in a database?

    I have a database for which I want to restrict access to 3 named individuals. I thought I could do the following: Create a local Windows group on the database server and add the named individuals to it. Create a Windows login in SQL Server mapped to the local Windows group. Map the login to the "dbo" schema in the database, so that the users can access all objects without having to qualify them with the schema name. When I try to do step 3, I get the following error: Msg 15353, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 An entity of type database cannot be owned by a role, a group, an approle, or by principals mapped to certificates or asymmetric keys. I have tried to do this via the IDE, the sp_changedbowner sproc, and the ALTER AUTHORIZATION command, and I get the same error each time. After searching MSDN and Google, I find that this restriction is by design. Great, that's useful. Can anyone tell me: Why this restriction exists? It seems very arbitrary. More importantly, can I accomplish my requirement some other way? Other info that might be pertinent: The server is fully up to date with service packs and hotfixes. All objects in the database are owned by the "dbo" schema, and it's not feasible to change that. The database is running in compatibility level 80, and it's not feasible to change that to 90 yet. I am free to make any other changes (within reason, depending on what they are).
