healthy DLL reference broken after compile multi-project solution

Hi. I have a solution with multiple class libraries. When I compile each individual library (and the web site by itself) compilation always succeeds. But, when I compile the solution as a whole, one of the library references fails with a little yellow exclamation mark next to the failed library. I am guessing this has to do with the build order? Can somebody suggest what i have to do to resolve this? Thanks in advance.

Singleton again, but with multi-thread and Objective-C

I know Singleton pattern has been discussed so much. But because I'm not fully understand the memory management mechanism in Objective-C, so when I combined Singleton implementation with multithreading, I got a big error and cost me a whole day to resolve it. I had a singleton object, let's call it ObjectX. I declared an object inside ObjectX that will detach a new thread, let's call that object objectWillSpawnNewThread, when I called [[ObjectX sharedInstance].objectWillSpawnNewThread startNewThread]; The new thread could not be executed correctly, and finally I found out that I should not declare the object objectWillSpawnNewThread inside the singleton class. Here are my questions: How does Objective-C allocate static object in the memory? Where does Objective-C allocate them(Main thread stack or somewhere else)? Why would it be failed if we spawn a new thread inside the singleton object? I had searched the Objective-C language [ObjC.pdf] and Objective-C memory management document, maybe I missed something, but I currently I could not find any helpful information.

Does mutex guarantee to execute thread in order of arriving? that is, if, thread 2 and thread 3 arrive is waiting while thread 1 is in critical section what exactly happen after thread 1 exit critical section if thread 2 arrive at mutex lock before thread 3, thread 2 will be allowed to enter critical section before thread 3 ? or race condition will be occurred?

sqlite on iphone can open db but not prepare statements

I'm brand new to using sqlite so I may have missed something basic. I've created a database and copied it into my app's document's directory. I'm able to open it but when I make a call to sqlite3_prepare_v2 I receive SQLITE_ERROR, "SQL error or missing database". here's my code: sqlite3 *database; if(sqlite3_open([dbPath UTF8String], &database) == SQLITE_OK) { sqlite3_stmt *compiledStatement; NSString *sqlStatement = @"select * from dbname"; int result = sqlite3_prepare_v2(database, [sqlStatement UTF8String], -1, &compiledStatement, nil); ... } the same sql statement works in the terminal. Greetings all, Please refer to image at : http://i48.tinypic.com/316qb78.jpg We are developing an application to extract cell edges from MRC images from electron microscope. MRC file format stores volumetric pixel data (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voxel) and we simply use 3D char array(char***) to load and store data (gray scale values) from a MRC file. As shown in the image,there are 3 viewers to display XY,YZ and ZX planes respectively. Scrollbars on the top of the viewers use to change the image slice along an axis. Here is the steps we do when user changes the scrollbar position. 1) get the new scrollbar value.(this is the selected slice) 2) for the relavant plane (YZ,XY or ZX), generate (char* slice;) array for the selected slice by reading 3D char array (char***) 3) Create a new QImage* (Format_RGB888) and set pixel values by reading 'slice' (using img-setPixel(x,y,c);) 4) This new QImage* is painted in the paintEvent() method. We are going to execute "edge-detection" process in a seperate thread since it is an intensive process.During this process we need to draw detected curve (set of pixels) on top of above QImage*.(as a layer).This means we need to call drawPoint() methods outside the QT thread. Is it the best wayto use QImage for this case? What is the best way to execute QT drawing methods from another thread? thanks in advance,

I have an invoice that contains over 100 lines of product that I am trying to print. This single invoice should take over 3 pages, but when printed, the content flows off the footer and the next page is the following invoice. I am using divs instead of tables, and I can't understand why the long invoices will not print on multiple pages. Any ideas?

I prepared all my dimension tables and my fact table, primary keys etc. The source is a 'flat' (item level) table and my problem is now how to split it up and get it from one into the respective tables. Core Data multi-threading

My app starts by presenting a tableview whose datasource is a Core Data SQLite store. When the app starts, a secondary thread with its own store controller and context is created to obtain updates from the web for data in the store. However, any resulting changes to the store are not notified to the fetchedresults controller (I presume because it has its own coordinator) and consequently the table is not updated with store changes. What would be the most efficient way to refresh the context on the main thread? I am considering tracking the objectIDs of any objects changed on the secondary thread, sending those to the main thread when the secondary thread completes and invoking "[context refreshObject:....] Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is some editor of latex that managed the labels for a multifile document?. I tried with TexMaker and LED, and they offers me suggestions about the labels present in the actual document and in the "Master" document but not the labels present in other files of the structure. I made a script to find those other labels but it will be real good that the suggestions covers all the file structure automatically. Finally i tried with Vim and Latex-Suite, this extension has that posibility but i have problem configuring the grep program despite having followed all the instructions found in their website and in the help files, :(. the structure is like this: document.tex mystyle.sty mybibliography.bib tex/file1.tex tex/file2.tex tex/... img/img1.png img/img2.png . . .

Difficulty setting ArrayList to java.sql.Blob to save in DB using hibernate

I'm trying to save a java ArrayList in a database (H2) by setting it as a blob, for retrieval later. If this is a bad approach, please say - I haven't been able to find much information on this area. I have a column of type Blob in the database, and Hibernate maps to this with java.sql.Blob. When I try to run it on XP the result is a bit different from the others. I was just wondering in order to execute QueueUserWorkItem properly do I need a dual CPU system? The XP I tried to test on had .Net 3.5 installed. Inputs most welcome.

Ideal Multi-Developer Lamp Stack?

I would like to build an 'ideal' lamp development stack. Dual Server (Virtualised, ESX) Apache / PHP on one, Databases (MySQL, PgSQL, etc) on the other. User (Developer) Manageable mini environments, or instance. Each developer instance shares the top level config (available modules and default config etc) A developer should have control over their apache and php version for each project. A developer might be able to change minor settings, ie magicquotes on for legacy code. Each project would determine its database provider in its code The idea is that it is one administrate-able server that I can control, and provide globally configured things like APC, Memcached, XDebug etc. Then by moving into subsets for each project, i can allow my users to quickly control their environments for various projects. Essentially I'm proposing the typical system of a developer running their own stack on their own machine, but centralised. In this way I'd hope to avoid problems like Cross OS code problems, database inconsistencies, slightly different installs producing bugs etc. I'm happy to manage this in custom builds from source, but if at all possible it would be great to have a large portion of it managed with some sort of package management. We typically use CentOS, so yum? Has anyone ever built anything like this before? Is there something turnkey that is similar to what I have described? Are there any useful guides I should be reading in order to build something like this?

Connecting to external MySQL DB from a web server not running MySQL

While I've been working with MySQL for years, this is the first time I've run across this very newbie-esq issue. Due to a client demand, I must host their website files (PHP) on a IIS server that is not running MySQL (instead, they are running MSSQL). However, I have developed the site using a MySQL database which is located on an external host (Rackspace Cloud). Obviously, my mysql_connect function is now bombing because MySQL is not running on localhost. Question: Is it even possible to hit an external MySQL database if localhost is not running MySQL? Atomikos with Hibernate will exhaust db connections

I am testing an application (Spring 2.5, Hibernate 3.5.0 Beta, Atomikos 3.6.2, and Postgreql 8.4.2) with the configuration for the DAO listed below. The problem that I see is that the pool of 10 connections with the dataSource gets exhausted after the 10's transaction. I know 'hibernate.connection.release_mode' has no effect unless the session is obtained with openSession rather then using a contextual session. I am wandering if anyone has found a way to instruct atomikos code to release connections after any transaction. Java Swt Text (SWT.MULTI) append text without scroll

I have a Java SWT GUI with a multiline Text control. I want to append lines of text to the Text control without affecting the position of the cursor within the text box. In particular, the user should be able to scroll and select text at the top of the Text control while new text lines are appended to the bottom. Is this possible?

I have created an C++ solution in VS2008. The first project contains the model. The second projects is the view. The problem is that i don't get make references to my model classes defined in the first project. The message error is : Error 1 fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'utils/GeradorSistematicoDeAlturaDoPlanoDeCorteStrategy.h': No such file or directory c:\Users\user\Programação em C++\Simulacao\Simulacao_Testes\src\Teste1.cpp 3 Simulacao_Testes Is there any configuration in VS2008 that makes to be made in order to, from the my view (second project) project, i do make references to the first project, the model?
