  • Configuring Seam for Glassfish

    Hi all, I am still migrating to Glassfish instead of Jetty for our application servers and am running into some problems. The application starts up fine, the database tables are created by hibernate and data is imported by my database importer, so Seam is alive, running and well. It appears that Seam is not properly bound to any JSF lifecycle as I'm getting no active application scope: INFO: Initializing filter:     Is there a way to untar a file with multiple tars inside? It's suppose to just untar everything inside including untarring the tars inside the tar... With windows it does it, quite annoying I can't figure it out on linux...   • Create Music Playlists in Windows 7 Media Center

    One of the new features in Windows 7 Media Center is the ability to easily create music playlists without using Media Player. Today we’ll take a closer look at how to create them directly in Media Center. Create Manual Playlists Open Windows Media Center and select the Music Library. From within the Music Library, choose playlists from the top menu.   Then select Create Playlist. Give your new playlist a name, and select Next. Choose Music Library and select Next.    Select “songs” from the top menu, choose the songs for your playlist from your library, and select Next when finished. You can also click Select All to add all songs to your playlist, or clear all to remove them. Note: you can also sort by artist, album, genre, etc. from the top menu.   Now you can review and edit your playlist. Click the up and down pointers to move songs up and down in the playlist, or “X” to remove them. You can also go back and add additional songs by selecting Add More. Click Create when you are finished.   Auto Playlists Windows Media Center also allows you to create six different auto playlists. These are dynamic playlists based on pre-defined criteria. Auto Playlists include All Music, Music added in the last month, Music auto rated at 5 stars, Music played in the last month, Music played the most, and Music rated 4 or 5 stars. These Auto Playlists will change dynamically as your library and listening habits change. Your new music playlists can be found under playlists in the music library. Select play playlist to start the music. Now kick back and enjoy the music from your playlist. Conclusion While earlier versions of WMC allowed you to create playlists, you had to do it through Windows Media Player. This is a nice new feature for music lovers who use WMC and prefer to do everything with a remote. Do you already have playlists that you’ve created in Windows Media Player? Windows Media Center can play those too. If your playlists are in the default Music folder, Media Center will detect them automatically and add them to your Music Library. Plus, any playlists you create in Media Center are also available for Media Player.     Hi, I'm trying to pick up Svn.NET (http://www.pumacode.org/projects/svndotnet/) library for use in my Mono project. I tried compiling its mockapp - svnmockapp project (http://www.pumacode.org/projects/svndotnet/browser/trunk/SvnMockApp) , I am able to get the references right and get it compiled right. I understand that it references 2 other modules libapr (libapr-1.so.0) and svn_client (libsvn_client-1.so.0) , by which I've created PumaCode.SvnDotNet.dll.config in /bin/Debug . That is all I've done to tried to try to get the mockapp at least outputting something to show that it is indeed interfacing SVN. Nevertheless, it is not working. Commands that are entered that doesn't interface SVN works fine: $ mono SvnTest.exe -usage Usage: SvnTest <subcommand> [options] Short Options: ~?.V Subcommands: add, checkout[co], status[st], update[up] For help on subcommands, use the -?/--help subcommand option. Hello World sample app This is the static web page we will work with: Let's assume the following: The Hello World web page is running on server http://appserver.company.com:1234/ The Hello World web page path is: http://appserver.company.com:1234/helloworld/ Initial Pagelet Producer setup Let's assume that the Pagelet Producer server is running on http://pageletserver.company.com:8889/pagelets/ First let's check that Pagelet Producer is up and running. In order to do that we just need to access the following URL: http://pageletserver.company.com:8889/pagelets/ And this is what should be returned: Now you can access Pagelet Producer administration screens using this URL: http://pageletserver.company.com:8889/pagelets/admin This is how the UI looks: Now if you connect to the internet via proxy server, you need to configure proxy in Pagelet Producer settings.     I am in the process of converting a large J2EE app from EJB 2 to EJB 3 (all stateless session beans, using glassfish 2.1.1), and running out of ideas. The first EJB I converted (let's call it Foo) ran without major problems (it was the only one in its ejb-module and I could completely replace the deployment descriptor with annotations) and the app ran fine. But after converting the second one (let's call it Bar, one of several in a different ejb-module) there is a weird combination of problems: The app deploys without errors (nothing in the logs either) There is an error when looking up Bar via JNDI When looking at the JNDI tree in the glassfish admin console, Bar is not present at all.     I want to do TCP Hole Punching (NAT Traversal) in C#. It can be done with a rendevouzs server if needed. I found http://sharpstunt.codeplex.com/ but can not get this to work. Ideally i need some method which i give a PortNumber (int) as parameter that after a call to this method is available ("Port Forwarded") at the NAT. It would be also ok if the methode just returns some port number which is then available at the NAT. Has anybody done this in C# ? Can you give me working examples for sharpstunt or something else?   • Is this error caused by a 64-bit library being accessed by a Java program running in a 32-bit JVM?

    I'm trying to create a simple Java app that uses JNI to call some native functions. I've followed the examples in the JNI Programming Guide and can't seem to get them to work. I have the following Hello World program, written in Java: class HelloWorld { private native void print(); public static void main(String [] args) { new HelloWorld().print(); } static { System.load("/home/mike/Desktop/libHelloWorld.so"); } } I compile it using javac HelloWorld.java, just like normal. Then I run javah -jni HelloWorld, and finally the following: gcc34 -shared -fpic -o libHelloWorld.so -I/<path to JDK>/include -I/<path to JDK>/include/linux HelloWorld.c gcc34 is the name of the GCC program on my machine here at work (I don't control that) and I obviously place the real path to the JDK in that command. When I run my program, using the standard java HelloWorld, I get an error saying the following: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /home/mike/Desktop/libHelloWorld.so: /home/mike/Desktop/libHelloWorld.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 (Possible causes: architecture word width mismatch) at java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary0(ClassLoader.java:1778) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:1674) at java.lang.Runtime.load0(Runtime.java:770) at java.lang.System.load(System.java:1003) at HelloWorld.<clinit>(HelloWorld.java:8) Could not find the main class: HelloWorld. Program will exit. I know I'm running a 32-bit JVM (and unfortunately, as of right now, I'm not allowed to get a 64-bit JVM). I tried telling GCC to compile in 32-bit mode using the "-m32" option, but we don't have (and again, can't get) what we need for that. Does this sound like a 32/64-bit conflict or something else?

    Ah, confusion. I'm trying to install a python library called lxml as needed by a python script. I've been through numerous SU quesitons and answers. I haven't been able to make much progress. (Which is 2.6.1) In Library/, there is: which are the lxml libaries I need, it appears, as well as requests. And whereis python gives me /usr/bin/python What do I do? How do I get python to use these libraries. And which python?

    I'm trying to generate a jasperReport, but I receive this: net.sf.jasperreports.engine.util.JRFontNotFoundException: Font 'Times New Roman' is not available to the JVM. See the Javadoc for more details. After searching on the net, I found that I need to add a jar to the classpath with the font. So, I create a jar file with the ttf files and now I want to add this as a dependency to my pom file. So: I installed the file : mvn install:install-file -Dfile=tf.jar -DgroupId=tf -DartifactId=tf -Dversion=1.0.0 -Dpackaging=jar and in my pom, I added these lines: <dependency> <groupId>tf</groupId> <artifactId>tf</artifactId> <version>1.0.0</version> </dependency> but I receive this: Dependency 'tf:tf:1.0.0' not found less I checked the repository folder and the jar file is there, in ... tf\tf\1.0.0\ What I'm doing wrong?

The visual cues include histograms, spark lines, and various other graph types. The idea is that the user is able to narrow their data via these various visual views. My question is thus - aside from the Google Charts API, does there exist a JavaScript way of presenting a Venn Diagram? Requirement: no Flash. Canvas is acceptable.

  • Sometimes Xcode appears to ignore target build settings?

    Hi all, I've created a iPhone static library project with two targets like this Project -- Library (Device) target -- Library (simulator) target The device target has the SDK set to the device so it produces an armv6/7 library and the simulator target is set to the simulator SDK so it produces an i386 library. The issue I'm having is that the SDK settings on the targets keep getting overridden by the XCode active target setting. i.e. if I build the device target, but the XCode window is showing the active SDK as being the simlulator, XCode will build a simulator library instead of a device library, ignoring the settings of the target. Although it will put it into the *-iphoneos/ directory in the build directories! I originally had the same issue with another static library project, and after a lot of playing around got everything to work correctly. i.e. The targets ignore the XCode active SDK because they have their own specifications of what to build. The problem is that I don't know what made it work in that project and I have not been able to reproduce the issue in it either. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? ciao Derek

    I need to send files securely from Adobe Air. In any other language, my first thought would be sftp/scp, but I don't see any libraries to do that in Flex. I'm new to flex, so I'm not sure where to look for code examples and repos. It looks like the raw socket interface is available, so I could write one if no good examples exist. Of course, I'm trying to avoid that.
