  Below are the only instructions i managed to find from google on how to install the android NDK, it is written as if we all run Linux and presumes we all understand what these obscure tools are. My comments and questions appear in Italics if somone who knows unix and windows would translate for google that would be great! Android NDK Installation Introduction: Please read docs/OVERVIEW.TXT to understand what the Android NDK is and is not. This file gives instructions on how to properly setup your NDK. I. Requirements: The Android NDK currently requires a Linux, OS X or Windows host operating system. Windows users will need to install Cygwin (http://www.cygwin.com) to use it. Note that running the NDK under MSys is not supported. You will need to have the Android SDK and its dependencies installed. The NDK cannot generate final application packages (.apk files), only the shared library files that can go into them. IMPORTANT: The Android NDK can only be used to target system images using the Cupcake (1.5) or later releases of the platform. This is due to subtle toolchain and ABI related changed that make it incompatible with 1.0 and 1.1 system images. The NDK requires GNU Make 3.81 or later being available on your development system. Earlier versions of GNU Make might work but have not been tested. You can check this by running 'make -v' from the command-line. The output should look like: GNU Make 3.81 Copyright (C) 2006 Free Software Foundation, Inc. ... On certain systems, GNU Make might be available through a different command like 'gmake' or 'gnumake'. For these systems, replace 'make' by the appropriate command when invoking the NDK build system as described in the documentation. Great some strange thing called gnu make.. if your not going to tell me what it does maybe you then at least you could give me a URL to it? The NDK also requires a Nawk or GNU Awk executable being available on your development system. Note that the original 'awk' program doesn't implement the 'match' and 'substr' functions used by the NDK build system. Ok another tool, with 1 of 2 possible names, but not the third... and again where should i download this?? On Windows, you will need to install a recent release of Cygwin to use the NDK. See http://www.cygwin.com for instructions. Woohoo a URL! download took about a day because these install instructions do not specify what parts to download. II. Preparing your installation prebuilt cross-toolchain binaries: After installing and unarchiving the NDK, you will need to run the following command from the root folder: build/host-setup.sh hello? windows dont run nothing but .exe .com or .dll, just tell me how you want me to run it.. This will test your setup and make sure the NDK can work properly. Nothing is said about where any of these things need to be installed to (what directory)

• Looking for help with a design for a simple C# calendar app.

  As a personal project, I'm putting together a C# WPF calendar. I'm stuck on coding the calendar screen - specifically, the 5x7 grid of days. I've first tried to code it using elements like Panels, Labels, and Buttons. I've decided that was too cumbersome. I've then decided to use GDI to draw the calendar myself. I now have a wonderful layout - but I'm not sure how to handle interactive regions of the calendar. (Say, Previous/Next month, clicking on any particular day...) After rendering the calendar screen, should I be creating button objects for all those tasks, and assigning onClick handlers to them? Or is there an alternative solution? • Help using Horner's rule and Hash Functions in JAVA?

  I am trying to use Horner's rule to convert words to integers. I understand how it works and how if the word is long, it may cause an overflow. My ultimate goal is to use the converted integer in a hash function h(x)=x mod tableSize. My book suggests, because of the overflow, you could "apply the mod operator after computing each parenthesized expression in Horner's rule." I don't exactly understand what they mean by this. Say the expression looks like this: ((14*32+15)*32+20)*32+5 Do I take the mod tableSize after each parenthesized expression and add them together? What would it look like with this hash function and this example of Horner's rule?

  I have several posts on a website; all these posts are chat conversations of this type: AD: Hey! BC: What's up? AD: Nothing BC: Okay They're marked up as simple paragraphs surrounded by <p> tags. Using the javascript replace function, I want all instances of "AD" in the beginning of a conversation (ie, all instances of "AD" at the starting of a line followed by a ":") to be surrounded by <strong> tags, but only if the instance isn't already surrounded by a <strong> tag. What regex should I use to accomplish this? Am I trying to do what this advises against? • ASP.NET RadioButtonList help. If I set a selectedItem, that item doesn't react to SelectedIndexChang

  Hi Guys, I have a RadioButtonList on my web form. I have tried two different means to set the selected item. I have tried in the markup, and in code, like the Page_Load event. It sets and displays correctly. My problem is that the selected radio button no longer responds to the SelectedIndexChanged event. The other items works as expected and if I remove the code that sets the selectedItem, then the radio button works as expected. Is there any way I can set a radio button through code, and it still behaves as I would expect. I am guessing, if u force a button to be selected, then it doesn't change. • MS SQL : Can you help me with this query?

  I want to run a diagnostic report on our MS SQL 2008 database server. I am looping through all of the databases, and then for each database, I want to look at each table. But, when I go to look at each table (with tbl_cursor), it always picks up the tables in the database 'master'.   I'm trying to run a unix regEXP on every log file in a 1.12 GB directory, then replace the matched pattern with ''. Test run on a 4 meg file is took about 10 minutes, but worked. Obviously something is murdering performance by several orders of magnitude. Find: ^(?!.*155[0-2][0-9]{4}\s.*).*$ -- NOTE: match any line NOT starting 155[0-2]NNNN where in is a number 0-9. Replace with: ''. Is there some justifiable reason for my regExp to take this long to replace matching text, or is the program I am using (this is windows / a program called "grepWin") most likely poorly optimized? Thanks. UPDATE: I am noticing that searching for ^(155[0-2]).$ takes ~7 seconds in a 5.6 MB file with 77 matches. Adding the Negative Lookahead Assertion, ?=, so that the regExp becomes ^(?!155[0-2]).$ is causing it to take at least 5-10 minutes; granted, there will be thousands and thousands of matches. Should the negative lookahead assertion be extremely detrimental to performance, and/or a large quantity of matches?

  Long story short, I'm making a platform game. I'm not old enough to have taken Calculus yet, so I know not of derivatives or integrals, but I know of them. The desired behavior is for my character to automagically jump when there is a block to either side of him that is above the one he's standing on; for instance, stairs. This way the player can just hold left / right to climb stairs, instead of having to spam the jump key too. The issue is with the way I've implemented jumping; I've decided to go mario-style, and allow the player to hold 'jump' longer to jump higher. To do so, I have a 'jump' variable which is added to the player's Y velocity. The jump variable increases to a set value when the 'jump' key is pressed, and decreases very quickly once the 'jump' key is released, but decreases less quickly so long as you hold the 'jump' key down, thus providing continuous acceleration up as long as you hold 'jump.' This also makes for a nice, flowing jump, rather than a visually jarring, abrupt acceleration. So, in order to account for variable stair height, I want to be able to calculate exactly what value the 'jump' variable should get in order to jump exactly to the height of the stair; preferably no more, no less, though slightly more is permissible. This way the character can jump up steep or shallow flights of stairs without it looking weird or being slow. There are essentially 5 variables in play: h -the height the character needs to jump to reach the stair top<br> j -the jump acceleration variable<br> v -the vertical velocity of the character<br> p -the vertical position of the character<br> d -initial vertical position of the player minus final position<br> Each timestep:<br> j -= 1.5; //the jump variable's deceleration<br> v -= j; //the jump value's influence on vertical speed<br> v *= 0.95; //friction on the vertical speed<br> v += 1; //gravity<br> p += v; //add the vertical speed to the vertical position<br> v-initial is known to be zero<br> v-final is known to be zero<br> p-initial is known<br> p-final is known<br> d is known to be p-initial minus p-final<br> j-final is known to be zero<br> j-initial is unknown<br> Given all of these facts, how can I make an equation that will solve for j? tl;dr How do I Calculus? I configured settings.xml correctly (i guess so...) true http username password 12.34.56.78 8080 But still I am error message like... if i dont configure userid/password gets correct error message which is HTTP response code 407 - saying authentication required. But If I configure correct/incorrect proxy authentication it always prints below error message.... • jQuery selector help - Can I generate a selector from clicking on an element?

  Hi All, I have jQuery, FireFox, Firebug, IE, and IE developer toolbar. When I am examing a page with either FireBug or IE Dev toolbar, I am able to click on an element and it shows me in the dom where the element is etc... Is there anyway to transform that selection into a valid jQuery selector? I know I can use ID, classes, and element relative to other elements etc... but what about when I am looking at some random table cell that doesn't have a class or id etc.. Can I generate a selector on the fly like that? I thought for sure there was. Any thoughts or ideas are always appreciated Thanks, ~ck in San Diego

• Trying to debug a plugin in tuxguitar, need help building the project in Eclipse.

  I am not too familiar with java / eclipse but I am trying to debug a plugin in TuxGuitar. The plugin is the gtp plugin which allows reading of guitar pro files. I have imported the main project, TuxGuitar, and the TuxGuitar-gtp plugin. I have all build dependencies configured and the project builds. However, when I debug the app, the plugin is not available. The documentation says plugins are loaded from the share/plugins folder and they are jar files. I tried exporting the gtp plugin as a jar into the share/plugins folder, but it still does not load when I debug. Is there some sort of configuration I need to do in Eclipse? Thanks!

• What free tools or strategies can help debug a multi-threading corruption bug?

  I have a client server application with multi-threading. The server side is failing with a std::list getting corrupted resulting in a SEGV. I suspect that there is some kind of cross thread timing issue going on where the two threads are updating the std::list at the same time and causing it to be corrupted. Please suggest free tools to track this down or strategies that might be helpful.
