    In a Windows Server 2003 environment with a self hosted .Net 3.5/WCF application, how can an application report its status to a BigIP Local Traffic Manager? Example: One of my services errors. My custom WCF application hosting software (written because Windows Server 2008 is not yet available and I'm using WCF TCP bindings) detects this and wants to report itself as down until it can recover the errant service. It needs to report itself as down to the BigIP LTM so that it is no longer sent client originated requests.

  • Problems connecting to MS Dynamics AX 2009 Application Object Server

    I've got a funny problem connecting to an AOS server. I got a domain network containing a (VM) Server running the Application Object Server (AOS). Client computer A) can connect to the AOS without problems and work. When client computer B) tries to connect, all I get is this error message: Logon Error Connection with the Application Object Server could not be established. The event log of Client B) does not contain any messages about this. Firewalls are off on all three computers (by GP). Tcp/ip from cliebt B) to the AOS server does run fine. Both clients run the same OS (win 7 RC), sit on the same subnet, next to each other. Yesterday it all worked, today just one computer can connect. Any ideas what might cause this problem, how to resolve it, or how to debug it?

    Our application uses a XML configuation file. I thought that it would be nice to distribute some small, lightweight XML editor with our application that the user can use to edit the config file. Features should be: Small and lightweight (ideally, a small .exe that does not require installation), free, with license terms that permit distributing it with a commercial application, understands XML schemas (auto-completion, show validation errors). Does anyone know of such an editor?

  • DirectX application doesn't work over Remote Desktop

    I have a WPF application which has a DirectX component within it. This component does not work over Remote Desktop--it just shows a corrupted image. The application works fine when not using Remote Desktop. In trying to debug the problem I installed the February 2010 DirectX SDK. Now, when I run the program on the computer with the SDK and Remote Desktop to it from a separate computer, the component works just fine. However the opposite does not work--trying to use the application over Remote Desktop when it is running on the computer without the DirectX SDK (it has the original problem with the corrupted image). I have already compared the loaded DLLs (using Process Explorer) between running the application on my SDK machine and non-SDK machine. They both are loading the same DLL versions. What else could be causing this behavior?

  • creating a Grails application in IntelliJ IDEA 9.0.x fails to prompt for "create-app"

    When I create a Grails application in IntelliJ 9 on Snow Leopard I am not prompted to create an application. IntelliJ finished the wizard and creates an empty project that is not a Grails application. I have tried two different Apple computers (MacBook Pro and Mac Pro) it does not work on either. The same steps on a Linux system results in a prompt to "create-app" and a Grails application. I have already tried the steps in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/470882/intellij-idea-setup-on-os-x Is there a specific place that Grails needs to be installed? Has anyone else seen this behavior? Thanks

    I am using Struts-1. I have developed a struts-based web application. I am using struts tags in my JSP pages supplied in struts-taglib.jar by inserting the following lines in the JSP file: <%@ taglib prefix="html" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-html" %> <%@ taglib prefix="logic" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-logic" %> <%@ taglib prefix="bean" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-bean" %> Now the application is working fine when I run it on my localsystem but when I deploy it on a server, it shows the following exception: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: The absolute uri: http://struts.apache.org/tags-html cannot be resolved in either web.xml or the jar files deployed with this application From the above exception, it seems that the application hasn't found the struts-taglib.jar file. But I have put the struts-taglib.jar in /WEB-INF/lib directory. Then where is the problem?

    Hi I have an Android application with version 1.6 I take the wallpaper and show it on my application. (I do that programatically by calling getWallpaper() on the Activity) When this is installed on a 2.1 phone, that has live wallpaper, the live wallpaper is not returned by getWallpaper() , because it just returns a Drawable, and live wallpaper probably is another thing. So the question is, is it possible to show a live wallpaper on the background of a 1.6 application? How? Thanks

    We have a Powerbuilder 10 application that is using .Net COM assemblies. We are trying to embed the manifest in the PB application (to invoke COM assemblies without registration). The merged manifest file has added sections for dependecies on the .Net COM assemblies. We have tries various tools to inject the new manifest with different results - using GenMan32 to inject truncates the application from 6MB to 45KB. - using ResourceTuner, the file size looks okay, but trying to launch application gives "Fatal Disk Error". Any suggestions on invoked .Net ComEnabled assembly from PB without registration?

    I am writing silverlight 3 application which is working on network. It works like client-server application. There is WinForm application for server and silverlight application for client. I use TcpListener on server and connect from client to it with Socket. In local network it works fine, but when I try to use it from internet it don't connect to server. I use IP address on local network and real IP with port number for internet version. I get error 10013 AccessDenied. Port number is correct and access policy exist. Firewall is turned of. Where is the problem? Thanks.

  • Deployed Qt5 Application Doesn't Print or Show Print Dialog

    I'm experiencing Qt4 to Qt5 troubles. In my application when the user clicks the print button two things should happen, one is that a PDF gets written to disk (which still works fine in the new version, so I know that some of the printing functions are working properly) and the other is that a QPrintDialog should exec() and then send to a connected printer. I see the dialog when I launch from my development machine. The application launches on the deployed machine, but the QPrintDialog never shows and the document never prints. I am including print support. QT += core gui network webkitwidgets widgets printsupport I have been using Process Explorer to see what DLLs the application uses on my development machine, and I believe that everything is present. My application bundle includes: {myAppPath}\MyApp[MyApp.exe, Qt5PrintSupport.dll, ...] {myAppPath}\plugins\printsupport\windowsprintersupport.dll {myAppPath}\plugins\imageformats[ qgif.dll, qico.dll,qjpeg.dll, qmng.dll, qtga.dll, qtiff.dll, qwbmp.dll ] The following is the relevant code snippet: void PrintableForm::printFile() { //Writes the PDF to disk in every environment pdfCopy(); //Paper Copy only works on my dev machine QPrinter paperPrinter; QPrintDialog printDialog(&paperPrinter,this); if( printDialog.exec() == QDialog::Accepted ) { view->print(&paperPrinter); } this->accept(); } My first thought is that the relevant DLLs are not being found come print time, and that means that my application file system is incorrect, but I have not found anything that shows me a different file structure.     Hi All, In my work place, we have several classic ASP and ASP.NET application. All these application though doing different works are integrated through a single sign on mode, which is handled by one main application. The main application is in classic ASP and verifies the userid and password initially and then stores the UserID in a session variable, which is then used by all other ASP and ASP.NET page as a valid Authenticated user. (For DOT NET pages we use session bridging) Is this how authentication is done is classic ASP? (I dont know classic ASP much) From the time I was introduced to this setup, I started to worry whether this setup is flawless? Is there any better way to handle the same ? Will it be possible to authenticate for both classic asp and DOT NET in the same login page? Thanks in advance for you answer Raja

    We just deployed the latest Citrix XenApp 6 onto Server 2008 R2, and we'd like to run an application usage report. I've googled around, but all the how-to's seem to be aimed at XenApp 5 and lower, when apparently it was much easier. I came across this Citrix expert thread: http://forums.citrix.com/thread.jspa?threadID=265554 Which gives a powershell command, Get-XAApplicationReport, but when I run that on our Citrix Server in PS2 it says it's not recognized. Do I need to register the Citrix commands in PS some how? Is there a better way to generate the application usage report?

  • Android: How to copy a SQLite database from one application to another

    I have a lite version of an application that uses a SQLite database. I want to copy that database over to the full version of the application when the user installs the full version. I have written some code to perform the file copy, but the lite database file always comes up as unreadable. The file is there and I can point to it, but I can't read it to perform the copy. In the Android documentation, we read: You can save files directly on the device's internal storage. By default, files saved to the internal storage are private to your application and other applications cannot access them (nor can the user). Note the words, "by default". Is there a way that I can override that default and make the SQLite file readable by my other application? Thank you.

  • Trouble virtualizing application under Windows 7

    Hi, I'm trying to virtualize an application for Windows 7 but am running into trouble: Application will run fine in Windows 7 if installed in the base. When it is virtualized, it will run on XP, but not on Windows 7. I have tried this in three ways: Captured on XP with ThinApp 4.0 Captured on XP with ThinApp 4.5 Captured on Windows 7 with ThinApp 4.5 Even when captured on Windows 7, it will not run on Windows 7 but will run on XP. When captured with a rival product, Altiris SVS, the virtualized app runs fine on Windows 7. Any idea what could cause this behaviour? Looking at the trace file, you see that they are different right from the start when comparing Windows 7 and XP tracefiles. What could cause it to go in completely different directions? (And why does the tracefile on Windows 7 say: Operating System Unknown? Does everybody have that on Windows 7 even with 4.5?) The error message is: "Object variable or with block variable not set".

  • android.app.Application subclass, onTerminate is not being called

    From the documentation for android.app.Application: "Base class for those who need to maintain global application state" I am using my own subclass to maintain an object that I'm using to query a server. Also from the documentation: "onTerminate() Called when the application is stopping." However, onTerminate() in my class is never called. I press the back button while viewing my main activity, and everything seems to shut down. My main Activity's onDestroy() method is called and isFinishing() returns true, but my android.app.Application's onTerminate() method is never called. Why is this? What am I missing? Is there something that is keeping it open?

  • Facebook iframe application redirects to local server

    I am using FaceBook application inside iframe. But when I try to access it using url like http://apps.facebook.com/myapp, it immediately redirects me to my lhttp://localhost:8080 application, which I intended to keep in frame. I assume that my local application should stay in frame, while the general container would be FB site itself, but something is wrong. Any hints?
