  I've got an NSMutableArray filled with objects of type "GameObject". GameObject has a number of properties, one of which being "gameObjectType" . "gameObjectType" is of type GameObjectTypeEnum. I want to be able to filter this NSMutableArray so only GameObjects of a certain type are returned. I've got the following in place, but it's giving me a "BAD ACCESS" error: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"gameObjectType = %@", gameObjectType]; return [gameObjects filteredArrayUsingPredicate:predicate]; Is it possible to pass a "custom" type (ie, this enum I've defined) into the predicateWithFormat call?

• Using Large Arrays in VB.NET

  I want to extract large amounts of data from Excel, manipulate it and put it back. I have found the best way to do this is to extract the data from an Excel Range in to a large array, change the contents on the array and write it back to the Excel Range. I am now rewriting the application using VB.NET 2008/2010 and wish to take advantage of any new features. Currently I have to loop through the contents of the array to find elements with certain values; also sorting large arrays is cumbersome. I am looking to use the new features, including LINQ to manipulate the data in my array. Does anybody have any advice on the easiest ways to filter / query, sort etc. data in a large array. Also what are the reasonable limits to the size of the array? ~Many Thanks

  How would I translate this into LINQ? Say I have A parent table (Say, customers), and child (addresses). I want to return all of the Parents who have addresses in California, and just the california address. (but I want to do it in LINQ and get an object graph of Entity objects) Here's the old fashioned way: SELECT c.blah, a.blah FROM Customer c INNER JOIN Address a on c.CustomerId = a.CustomerId where a.State = 'CA' The problem I'm having with LINQ is that i need an object graph of concrete Entity types (and it can't be lazy loaded.   Is it possible to step into a linq query? I have a linq to entity framework 4 query in it's simplest form: List = List.Where(f => f.Value.ToString().ToLowerInvariant().Contains(filter.ToLowerInvariant())); It's a query against an Entity Framework DbContext and I'm having trouble seeing why it works for something like: List searching for 001 yields no results against the following list Test001 Test002 Test003 Test004 However any other search yields results (Such as t00 or Test) I was hoping to figure out a way to see the resulting sql but it appears that I need Intellitrace, which I don't currently have or possibly stepping through the query itself and see each iteration build itself.

  I am building a note taking app for myself with tag filtering functions, but am having an issue when trying to grab notes with the tags. The tag filter needs to use AND not IN, because it will help better narrow down what I am looking for. My tables are configured like this: + notes note_id | note_title | note_uid + tags tag_id | tag_title + notes_tags nt_id | nt_note_id | nt_tag_id The notes_tags table keeps track of all notes' tags. I am not worried about returning any information about tags, so here is an example LEFT JOIN I am using currently to only get notes with only 1 tag. SELECT * FROM notes_tags LEFT JOIN notes ON note_id = nt_note_id WHERE note_uid IN ( 1 ) AND nt_tag_id = 10 This query runs perfect, it grabs all of the notes with that single tag. However, I am having issues "pinpointing" my notes using a query like this: SELECT * FROM notes_tags LEFT JOIN notes ON note_id = nt_note_id WHERE note_uid IN ( 1 ) AND nt_tag_id = 10 AND nt_tag_id = 11 What am I doing wrong with the syntax?

  i have a mini blog app, and a 'timeline' . there i want to be displayed all the posts from all the friends of a user, plus the posts of that user himself. For that, i have to make some kind of a 'join' between the results of two queries (queries on the same table) , so that the final result will be the combination of the user - posesor of the account, and all his friends. My query looks like this: blog = New.objects.filter(created_by = following,created_by = request.user) By that ',' i wanted to make a 'join' -i found something like this on a doc- but this method is not correct- i'm getting an error. • LINQ to Entites: Doing a count over one-to-many relationships

  I have a couple of tables where there are one to many relationships. Let's say I have a Country table, a State table with a FK to Country, and a City table with a FK to State. I'd like to be able to create a count of all Cities for a given country, and also a count of cities based on a filter - something like: foreach( var country in Model.Country ) { total = country.State.All().City.All().Count() ; filtered = country.State.All().City.Any(c=>c.field == value).Count(); } Obviously, this doesn't work - is there any way to do this?

• Creating AVI files in OpenCV

  Hello. I have been trying to create an application using OpenCV and Visual Studio 2008, to capture images from a webcam, apply a filter to them, and then write them to an AVI file. Everything works, except creating the AVI file. The problem is that it works on my computer, but it doesn't work on my colleague's computer. The reason for that (I think) is that he does not have the necessary video encoders for OpenCV to use. The cvCreateVideoWriter function does not return NULL, but I end up with a 0kb file on the disk.

  What I'm looking for is something like materialized views in front-end that shows my data in diffident ways without full recalculation. let's say I have stock watcher with many front-end views and dashborads some based on aggregation, order by or just filter with different criteria defined realtime by user. Now, I receive online record updates from some webservice and it's not like "data warehouse" every single record can be updated any time and it actually happens every second.   Here is the situation dealing with a vb.net website, I have students who will be enrolled into a course. The student grid view has many columns like client_no, student_name, date_of_birth, address, etc. There are over 100000 students so I will need to filter the student grid view to find the correct student to enroll in the course. Once they are found, the user selects them and somehow moves them to the enrolled grid view. If a student drops out then they would be removed from the enrolled grid view. This process needs to be easy to understand and use. Are there any examples available or other suggestions on how to do this?

  so, i've found a way to bind a label to a property on current Control i give it a name: <UserControl x:Class="WpfGridtest.GridControl" x:Name="GridControlControl1"> and than bind to property of this control: <Label Content="{Binding ElementName=GridControlControl1, Path=Filter}"></Label> I can see the default value i put in that property. I am guessing that this isn't working because i am binding to String property which doesn't implement INotifyPropertyChanged?? is there some other type i should be using for this property instead of String auto notify my label of changes, or am i going about this the wrong way?

  I have a database which is synchronized against an external web source twice a day. This web source contains a bunch of entries, which have names and some extra information about these names. Some of these names are silly and I want to rename them when inserting them into my own database. To rename these silly names, I have a standard dictionary as such: RENAME_TABLE = { "Wsird" : "Weird", ... } As you can see, this is where UTF-8 comes into play. This is the function which performs renaming of all the problematic entries: def rename_all_entries(): all_keys = RENAME_TABLE.keys() entries = Entry.objects.filter(name__in=all_keys) for entry in entries: entry.name = RENAME_TABLE[entry.name] entry.save() So it tries to find the old name in RENAME_TABLE and renames the entry if found. However, I get a KeyError exception when using RENAME_TABLE[entry.name]. Now I'm lost, what do I do? I have... # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- ...in the top of the Python file.

"2002-11-28T14:00:00Z" I want to just display the time portion. For which I would have to apply filter date: 'hh:mm a' I tried ng-model="labor.start_time | date: 'hh:mm a'" Please let me know how i can show only time portion in input box showin time only. I cant use span tag as the time a user can change so have to show in input tag. Thanks
