• compiling c code in windows xp

  i have c code that was compiled on windows NT with microsoft visual studio 6.0. I am migrating this code to a new machine using windows xp. What ide is suitable for this? I dont think ms visual 6.0 has been designed for xp...can i just use visual studio c++ to compile c code and keep the same functionality?

The release option doesn't work as the application does not function correctly when build in release (not sure why).   i have a web application that export CSV and i logged in as admin but what happened during the exportation the IE opens a new tab and export the CSV but what happens next when you click any of the link on the web app you will automatically logout!   This simple query throws the "Ambiguous column name TaskID" error on one db-server only. This is ridiculous. We tested this with the same database structure on different servers and different versions of ms sql (2005/2008), and it's only THIS particular client's server that throws the error. I'm actually frustrated.
