• to print local xml file through NSData?

  hi, i want to take some xml data from local path,and to parse,but when i use following code NSLog returns(content) different texts which is differed from xml file, how can i get exact xml data to check ,it consists correct xml data or not? any help please? when i parse , it returns nothing..i have saved the file as .xml and copied to local resource folder? • Django/Python best practice template_dict

  Hi, After just been coding for about 6-9 months. I probably changed my coding style a number of times after reading some code or read best practices. But one thing I haven't yet come a cross is a good why to populate the template_dict. As of now I pass the template_dict across a number of methods (that changes/modifies it) and returns is. The result is that every methods takes template_dict as first argument and the returns it and this in my eyes doesn't seems to be the best solution. An idea is to have a method that handles all the changes. But I'm curios if there's a best practice for this? Or is it "do what you feel like"-type of thing? The 2 things I think is pretty ugly is to send as an argument and return it in all methods. And the just the var name is written xxx number of times in the code :) ..fredrik

  I am using JAX-WS. I am connecting to .NET webservice that requires authentication. I first call the Authentication.asmx so that I can be authenticated. The call returns me a LoginResult that contains a cookie name. Then I call another webservice and I need to somehow pass this cookie or a cookie name. and I don't know how. • Neither IE or Firefox respects the control values that are output

  I'm writing a survey designer asp.net mvc. It has buttons to move questions up and down. The buttons post the whole form back and the affected questions are swapped on the server. When the form returns the only thing that is changed are the values for each survey question. Both firefox and IE seem to ignore this change. Nothing is persisted to the database (until save) and url doesn't change so the post just returns the same view but I've stepped through my code to ensure the sequence of values being rendered in the view reflects the swap which is ok. However "view - source" doesn't show the change suggesting caching issue (maybe auto complete). I've tried autocomplete="off" in my form. Response.Cache.SetNoStore(); in my global.asax [System.Web.Mvc.OutputCache(NoStore = true, Duration = 0, VaryByParam = "*")] before my controller and the following in my page header NOTHING!!! This must be real common. Anyone got a clue?

• How does this ruby custom accessor work

  So the method below in class_eval dynamically creates accessors for attributes defined at runtime. It can be used, for example, to create configuration objects with attributes read from a config file (and unknown until runtime). I understanding all of it except for the else branch. If I am correct the else branch returns the attribute value (val[0]) if there is one value passed in *val. However the way its written I would expect it to return an array (val) if there is more then one value passed in *var. In particular, if I have something like the following: value = 5 then from reading the code I would expect "#{@value}" to be [=,5]. However "#{@value}" returns 5 and not the array [=,5]. • Issue with multipart upload in servlet on seam

  I created a servlet wich works fine when deployed in a separate war file, but I intend to use it as part of a seam application. I use commons-fileupload but the iterator (see snippet) returns false (only when included in the seam-app). • Query Results Not Expected

  I've been a CF developer for 15 years and I've never run into anything this strange or frustrating. I've pulled my hair out for hours, googled, abstracted, simplified, prayed and done it all in reverse. Can you help me? A cffunction takes one string argument and from that string I build an array of "phrases" to run a query with, attempting to match a location name in my database. For example, the string "the republic of boulder" would produce the array: ["the","republic","of","boulder","the republic","the republic of","the republic of boulder","republic of","republic of boulder","of boulder"]. Another cffunction uses the aforementioned cffunction and runs a cfquery. A query based on the previously given example would be... select locationid, locationname, locationaliasname from vwLocationsWithAlias where LocationName in ('the','the republic','the republic of','republic','republic of','republic of boulder','of','of boulder','boulder') or LocationAliasName in ('the','the republic','the republic of','republic','republic of','republic of boulder','of','of boulder','boulder') This returns 2 records... locationid - locationname - locationalias 99 - 'Boulder' - 'the republic' 68 - 'Boulder' - NULL This is good. Works fine and dandy. HOWEVER... if the string is changed to "the republic", resulting in the phrases array ["the","republic","the republic"] which is then used to produce the query... select locationid, locationname, locationaliasname from vwLocationsWithAlias where LocationName in ('the','the republic','republic') or LocationAliasName in ('the','the republic','republic') This returns 0 records. Say what?! OK, just to make sure I'm not involuntarily HIGH I run that very same query in my SQL console against the same database in the cf datasource. 1 RECORD! locationid - locationname - locationalias 99 - 'Boulder' - 'the republic' I can even hard-code that sql within the same cffunction and get that one result, but never from the dynamically generated SQL. I can get my location phrases from another cffunction of a different name that returns hard-coded array values and those work, but never if the array is dynamically built. I've tried removing cfqueryparams, triple-checking my datatypes, datasource setups, etc., etc., etc. NO DICE WTF!? Is this an obscure bug? Am I losing my mind? I've tried everything I can think of and others (including Ray Camden) can think of. ColdFusion 8 (with all the latest hotfixes) SQL Server 2005 (with all the greatest service packs) Windows 2003 Server (with all the latest updates, service packs and nightly MS voodoo)

• [PHP] DOMDocument load on a page returning 400 Bad Request status

  Hiya, I'm trying to use the Last.fm API for an application I'm creating, but am having some problems with validation. If an API request gives an error it returns a code and message in the response XML like this: <lfm status="failed"> <error code="6">No user with that name</error> </lfm> However, the request also returns an HTTP status of 400 (or in some cases 403) which DOMDocument considers an error and so then refuses to parse the XML. Is there any way round this, so that I can retrieve the error code and message? Thanks Pete

• Different NSTimeZone names being returned

  I've noticed that on some devices the NSTimeZone's name method for a particular timezone can return different values. When testing the Brisbane time zone, my device returns @"Australia/Brisbane" whereas another user's device returns "Etc/GMT-10". Both iPhone's are running 3.1.2. The Date and Time Programming Guide for Cocoa states that: timeZoneWithName: The name passed to this method may be in any of the formats understood by the system, for example EST, Etc/GMT-2, America/Argentina/Buenos_Aires, Europe/Monaco, or US/Pacific, as shown in the following code fragment. I'd just like to know what could determine which value is used? The device? The language?

• MC75 using symbol.imaging.device libraries for program

  UPDATE: I found another library in the Windows Mobile - CameraCaptureDialog - this did the job - never did figure out the zero length available devices... Hi all, I have a .net application running on a symbol mc75 (motorola) using the scanner. I am now trying to add functionality for the camera and I am running into issues. To find the 'devices' you are supposed to use the library's 'available devices' function. With the barcode it is symbol.barcode.devices.availabledevices and it returns two items (you can scan from the scanner or using the camera device) However, when I do the camera library it does not find any devices - symbol.imaging.devices.availabledevices returns 0 I can take a picture using the software on the mc75, so I know the functionality is there, I just can't figure out how to get to it programmatically.... Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help!

• ResolveURL not resolving in a user control

  I'm trying to use ResolveUrl() to set some paths in the code behind of a custom ASP.NET user control. The user control contains a navigation menu. I'm loading it on a page that's loading a master page. When I call ResolveUrl("~") in my user control it returns "~" instead of the root of the site. When I call it in a page I get the root path as expected. I've stepped through with the debugger and confirmed, ResolveUrl("~") returns "~" in my user control code behind. Is there some other way I should be calling the function in my user control code behind to get the root path of the site?

• How to create a simple server/client application using boost.asio?

  I was going over the examples of boost.asio and I am wondering why there isn't an example of a simple server/client example that prints a string on the server and then returns a response to the client. I tried to modify the echo server but I can't really figure out what I'm doing at all. Can anyone find me a template of a client and a template of a server? I would like to eventually create a server/client application that receives binary data and just returns an acknowledgment back to the client that the data is received.

  Hi again. I am using the next instructions to get some registers from my Database. Create the needed models (from the params module): $obj_paramtype_model = new Params_Model_DbTable_Paramtype(); $obj_param_model = new Params_Model_DbTable_Param(); Getting the available locales from the database // This returns a Zend_Db_Table_Row_Abstract class object $obj_paramtype = $obj_paramtype_model->getParamtypeByValue('available_locales'); // This is a query used to add conditions to the next sentence. This is executed from the Params_Model_DbTable_Param instance class, that depends from Params_Model_DbTable_Paramtype class (reference map and dependentTables arrays are fine in both classes) $obj_select = $this->select()->where('deleted_at IS NULL')->order('name'); // Execute the next query, applying the select restrictions. This returns a Zend_Db_Table_Rowset_Abstract class object. Zend_Registry::get('log')->debug($obj_params_rowset); I have a profiler for all my DB executions from Zend. If I execute the SQL Queries in some MySQL Client, the results are as expected. But the Zend Firebug log writer displays as NULL the column values with latin characters (ñ). In other words, the external SQL client shows es_CO | Español de Colombia and en_US | English of United States but the Query results from Zend displays (and returns) es_CO | null and en_US | English of United States. I've deleted the ñ character from Español de Colombia and the query results are just fine in my Zend Log Firebug screen, and in the final Zend Form element. The MySQL database, tables and columns are in UTF-8 - utf8_unicode_ci collation. All my zend framework pages are in UTF-8 charset. I'm using XAMPP 1.7.1 (PHP 5.2.9, Apache at port 90 and MySQL 5.1.33-community) running on Windows 7 Ultimate; Zend Framework 1.10.1. I'm sorry if there is so much information, but I don't really know why could that happen, so I tryed to provide as much related information as I could to help to find some answer.

I'm messing with assembly for the first time and just trying to return the first character of the array in the dl register. • Webdav -- GET on a directory

  I am beginning to build a tool that uses WebDAV. I am having trouble wrapping my head around something here. I think I am missing something conceptual. I can use PUT's to add files to the server. I can use GET's to read files from the server, but when I try to use GET on a directory I get a 403:Forbidden. I am using basic authentication. My code in MacRuby is as follows Net::HTTP.start('localhost') do |http| res = Net::HTTP::Get.new('http://localhost/webdav/') res.basic_auth 'jcannatti', 'webdav' http.request res end this returns <Net::HTTPForbidden 403 Forbidden readbody=true> however this Net::HTTP.start('localhost') do |http| res = Net::HTTP::Put.new('http://localhost/webdav/gorilla.txt') res.body = "testetsetest" res.basic_auth 'jcannatti', 'webdav' http.request res end returns <Net::HTTPCreated 201 Created readbody=true> What should happen when calling a GET on a WebDAV directory when everything is working correctly? thanks

• TreeMap randomly stops properly returning values

  I have the following TreeMap: TreeMap<String, Integer> distances = new TreeMap<String, Integer>(); and it contains both strings, "Face" and "Foo", with appropriate values, such that: System.out.println(distances); Yields: {Face=12, Foo=2} However, distances.get(Face) returns null, even though distances.get(Foo) properly returns 2. Previously, distances.get(Face) worked, but for some reason, it stopped working. Note I print out the map right before calling get() for both keys, so I haven't accidentally changed Face's value to null. Has anyone else ever encountered this problem? Is there anything I can do? I'm having a terrible time simply trying to figure out how to debug this problem.

• Floor function returning EXC_BAD_ACCESS

  The cod that I am using contains these snippets of code. I am calling ThetaG_JD with the argument 2455343.50000 which is just a sample Julian date. Every time I run the program, I receive a EXC_BAD_ACCESS on the indicated line. • How do I get the name of the newest file via the Terminal?

  I'm trying to create a macro for Keyboard Maestro for OS X doing the following: Get name of newest file in a directory on my disk based on date created; Paste the text "newest file: " plus the name of the newest file. One of its options is to "Execute a shell script", so I thought that would do it for 1. After Googling around a bit I came up with this: cd /path/to/directory/ ls -t | head -n1 This sorts it right, and returns the first filename. However, it also seems to includes a line break, which I do not want. As for 2: I can output the text "newest file: " with a different action in the app, and paste the filename behind that. But I'm wondering if you can't return "random text" + the outcome of the ls command. So my question is: can I do this only using the ls command? And how do I get just the name of the latest file without any linebreaks or returns?

  hi, I am having an issue with parsing XML with JQuery when there is a node with an option node <preferences><dashboard> <report id="si_pg_vw" order="0"> <header> <data> <option type="reportname" value="Page View"/> </data> </header> </report> the following code in firebug returns no children $reportElement.find("data")[0] however if I change option to any other value ("option2", "test" etc) then the line above returns one child which is correct. • Return a dynamic string from std::exception's `what`

  I'm convinced at this point that I should be creating subclasses of std::exception for all my exception throwing needs. Now I'm looking at how to override the what method. The situation that I'm facing, it would be really handy if the string what returns be dynamic. Some pieces of code parse an XML file for example, and adding a position or line number to the error message is useful to me. What I'd like to know: what returns a const char *, which implies any catcher is likely not going to free the string. So I need some other place to store the result, but where would that be? (I need thread-safety.) what also includes throw() in its signature. While I can prevent my what from throwing anything, it seems to me that this method really isn't intended for anything too dynamic. If what is not the right place, then where should I be doing this instead?

  I'm trying to create a regex that matches the inverse of a certain string type (so, strings not ending in ".js", for example). According to the documentation, that should be the expression #rx"(?!\\.js$)", but it doesn't seem to work. To test it out, I have this function: (define (match-test regex) (map (lambda (text) (regexp-match? regex text)) '("foo.js" "bar.css" "baz.html" "mumble.gif" "foobar"))) (match-test #rx"\\.js$") returns (#t #f #f #f #f) as expected, but (match-test #rx"(?!\\.js$)") returns (#t #t #t #t #t), where I would expect (#f #t #t #t #t). What am I doing wrong, and how do I actually get a regex in Racket to express the idea "match anything which does not contain [x]"?

I've been pouring over the documentation looking for anything regarding the text() function and how it operates when Password mode is on, however I have not found anything. Does anybody know how this is done?
