• Creating custom ribbon with SQL Server linked Access application

  I'm just learning about creating custom ribbons in Access 2010, but I'm running into an issue. The Access application I'm working with is connected to a SQL Server backend (connected, not just linked tables). As I understand it, the USysRibbons table needs to exist in the Access application itself, and not in a connected SQL Server. How does one go about creating a table in an Access application that is already linked to a SQL Server? I tried creating the table in a blank database and then importing it into the Access application without any luck.

I am able to use the Category.entry_set but I want to be able to do Category.blogentry_set but it is not available. If this is not available,then I need another method to get all ExtEntryrelated to one particular Category Thanks

  I'm having success when I use this code to get a string from an array called "fileList": cell.timeBeganLabel.text = [[[self.fileList objectAtIndex:[indexPath row]] lastPathComponent] stringByDeletingPathExtension]; so I expected the same code to generate the same string as a key for me in this: NSDictionary *stats = [thisRecordingsStats objectForKey:[[[self.fileList objectAtIndex:[indexPath row]] lastPathComponent] stringByDeletingPathExtension]]; cell.durationLabel.text = [stats objectForKey:@"duration"]; or this: NSDictionary *stats = [thisRecordingsStats objectForKey:@"%@",[[[self.fileList objectAtIndex:[indexPath row]] lastPathComponent] stringByDeletingPathExtension]]; Both build without error, and the log shows my data is there: but I'm getting a blank UILabel. Have I not written the dynamic key generator correctly?

• Jquery Accordion and multiple slideshows

  I've been using a lot of slideshows recently on my sites and one thing thats puzzled me is using more than one slideshow per page. I'm currently working on my own site, experimenting with Jquery Accordion. I've managed to adopt a very simple javascript slideshow, see below: http://dvpwebdesign.com/test/accordion/blank.html However i'm unable to either incorporate or use a different multiple slideshow plugin. I dont need slideshow navigation, so the The Cycle plugin works really well and i know you can use multiple slideshows. But if i either use Cycle alongside the current javascript slideshow, or only use the Cycle slideshow to avoid any possible conflict, the Accordion menu stops working. I just cant see what i am doing wrong, can anyone help?

• Sorting related objects in the Django Admin form interface

  I am looking to sort the related objects that show up when editing an object using the admin form. So for example, I would like to take the following object: class Person(models.Model): first_name = models.CharField( ... ) last_name = models.CharField( ... ) hero = models.ForeignKey( 'self', null=True, blank=True ) and edit the first name, last name and hero using the admin interface. I want to sort the objects as they show up in the drop down by last name, first name (ascending). How do I do that? Context I'm using Django v1.1. I started by looking for help in the django admin docs, but didn't find the solution As you can see in the example, the foreign key is pointing to itself, but I expect it would be the same as pointing to a different model object. Bonus points for being able to filter the related objects, too (eg~ only allow selecting a hero with the same first name)

• how to handle large dataset like sproutcore

  Hello all, I really don't have any substantial code to show here, actually, that's kinda why I am writing: I looked at the SproutCore demo, especially the Collection demo, on http://demo.sproutcore.com/sample_controls/, and am amazed by its loading 200,000 records to the page so easily. I tried using Rails to provide 200,000 records and in a completely blank HTML page with <% @projects.each do |p| % <%= p.title % <% end % that freezes the browser for seconds on my m1530 laptop with 4gb ram and t7700 256gb ssd. Yet the sproutcore demo does not freeze and takes less than 3 seconds to load. What do you think the one technique they are using to enable this is? Thanks!

• Wait window in a windows application

  I basically need to show a wait window to the user. For this i have put two seperate window forms in the application. the first form is the main form with a button. The second one is a empty one with just a label text. On click of the button in Form1 i do the below Form2 f = new Form2(); f.Show(); Thread.Sleep(2000); f.Close(); My idea here is to show the wait window to the user for 2 second. But when i do this the Form 2 is not completely loaded because of which the label in it is blank. Please let me know your inputs on this.

  Hey, I got a user table containing 15+ million records and while doing the registration function i wish to check whether the username already exist. I did indexing for username column and when i run the query "select count(uid) from users where username='webdev'" ,. hmmm, its keep on loading blank screen finally hanged up. I'm doing this in my localhost with php 5 & mysql 5. So suggest me some technique to handle this situation. Is that mongodb is good alternative for handling this process in our local machine? • errorPage directive works, but error-page in web.xml doesn't?

  I get jsp exceptions causing a forward to my error page when I put this at the top of my JSPs... <%@ page errorPage="/error.page" %> but when I try to do it globally with web.xml like so: <error-page> <exception-type>java.lang.Throwable</exception-type> <location>/error.page</location> </error-page> I just get a blank page... I've also tried putting /error.jsp in the location element.. but no love with that either.. I am triggering an exception with a jsp that just contains this: <%if(true)throw new RuntimeException("test exception");%> I do see the exception in the console from tomcat but I just can't get that error page to show without a directive on every jsp... am I missing something simple here?

  I'm trying to get my script to use url session id instead of cookies. The following page is not picking up the variable in the url as the session id. I must be missing something. • Failure when adding images to a thumbnail gallery

  morning all, I've been browsing around trying to work out what I've done wrong when trying to add a thumbnail to a gallery view, but can't work out what on earth it might be. I'm trying to use the following code to stick a thumbnail onto a blank view: UIImageView *any = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(a,b,70,60)]; any.image = [UIImage imageNamed:selectedThumbPath]; any.tag = 0; [self.view addSubview:any]; In the above example: a = 165 b = 150 selectedThumbPath = the full path to a thumbnail ie. /users/Cleverbum/library etc I'm pulling my hair out, there are no error messages, and no clues as to why it's not drawing anything. What's worse is that this is one of the only parts of the code i've not changed!

• Problem installing wordpress child themes.

  Hi, I've tried to install either the Fusion or Thematic child themes for my blog. My Wordpress directory is located at myblog/wordpress while my domain is just myblog (example). Everything works fine with both basic themes or the parent Fusion or Thematic themes. When I install a child theme for either framework, I can view the preview and select 'activate.' However, after that my entire site crashes. I can't even view the wordpress admin panel. I've had to restore my database from my hosting provider just to get my blog working. All that I'm able to see is my favicon icon and a blank page. I've tried to deactivate all plugins and this doesn't help either. I really want to use the Hybrid News child template. Any thoughts on what might be happening? thanks so much!

  We are trying to create a site definition that includes a wiki page. Basically we are trying to figure out how to replicate the same process that happens when a user chooses to create a new page in a blank site, and the system says something along the lines of: "In order to create wiki pages on this site, there must be a default wiki page library and site assets library. Would you like to create those document libraries now?" When the user chooses yes, the system provisions those libraries as well as a few "howto" wiki pages. If anyone knows how to trigger that roll-out though code or CAML, we would appreciate the help.

  hi, when I add the tag script to load an external javascript file, my page is not longer displayed. • Transform LINQ Dataset into a Matrix for export

  Hi folks, I've got a data table with columns in which include Item, Category and Value (and others, but those are the only relevant ones for this problem) that I access via LINQ in a C# ASP.Net MVC app. I want to transform these into a matrix and output that as a CSV file to pull into Excel as matrix with the items down the side, the categories across the top and the values in the row cells. However, I don't know how many, or what, categories there will be in this table, nor will there always be a record for each item/category combination. I've written this by looping round, getting my "master category" list, then looking again for each item, filling in either blank or Value, depending on whether the item/category record exists, but as there are currently 27000 records in the table, this isn't as fast as I'd like. Is there a slicker and faster way I can do this, maybe via LINQ (firing into a quicker SQL statement so the DB server can do the leg-work), or will any method essentially come back to what I am doing? • Create web page launcher, losing focus

  I have created a php webpage. I now want to create a launcher application in android phone, it simply opens the browser with the url "http://<mywebsite>/m". I use uri intent to launch the browser in onCreate function. public void onCreate(...) { .... startActivity(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, new Uri(http://<mywebsite>/m))); ... } I execute this program in my G1 phone (Cyan Mod 5). However, when I click the "Home" key, and then re-enter my application through Task list, I lose focus for my last started browser, and the screen blank Any suggestion?! • Compiling error with API 10

  I was following the basic tutorials on developers.android.com and came by creating the activity named DisplayMessageActivity. It is a blank activity with all the specifications given as shown in the tutorial. FYI, I am using Min SDK = API 8, Target SDK = API 16, Compile with = API 10 The next thing is that there are two errors: "The method getActionBar() is undefined for the type DisplayMessageActivity "home cannot be resolved or is not a field" I tried changing the API to 14 which called for another problem, it wants the minimum API to be 11. That solves these problems, but the main problem is so many devices still use Gingerbread or maybe FroYo. Can't I write for them? Do I have to go higher? How to write for them?

• Reading in a file - Warning Message in R

  I have a file that has 22268 rows BY 2521 columns. When I try to read in the file using this line of code: file <- read.table(textfile, skip=2, header=TRUE, sep="\t", fill=TRUE, blank.lines.skip=FALSE) I get the following error: Warning message: In scan(file, what, nmax, sep, dec, quote, skip, nlines, na.strings, : number of items read is not a multiple of the number of columns I also used this command to see what rows had an incorrect number of columns: x <-count.fields("train.gct", sep="\t", skip=2) which(x != 2521) and got back a list of about 20 rows that were incorrect. Is there a way to fill these rows with NA values? I thought that is what the "fill" parameter does in the read.table function, but it doesn't appear so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
