• How to save a Stored Procedure ?

  Hello, I've been playing today with stored procedures. I'm stoned that I picked the basic of it up so easily. (I'll also try triggers very soon). Now, I'd like to know how to save my SPROC under the stored procedure folder (Programmability - Stored Procedure) so that I can access it by name (eventually from my C# application). So far, when I press the save icon, I'm proposed to save the whole query. That's not what I want. Thanks for helping

• Perl Term::ReadKey don't wait for newline

  In a perl script, I'm trying to accept input without blocking and without echoing the characters entered (The script is producing output and I want to have 'hotkeys' to alter its behaviour). I got as far as using use Term::ReadKey; ReadMode( "cbreak", STDIN ); if($input = ReadKey($pause_time, STDIN)){ #process input } But once the user types anything then the script stops until a newline is entered. I'd like the input to be processed per-character, without waiting for a newline.

  int* test( ) { int a = 5; int* b = &a; return b; } Will the result of test be a bad pointer? As far as I know a should be deleted and then b would become a messed up pointer, right? How about more complicated things, not an int pointer but the same with a class with 20 members or so?

  I come from a Java background and have been using C# for the last year - So far the API docs I use are at MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms132397.aspx). I tend to use the lightweight C# docs. What annoys me about that is that I don't see one page with details of the class, a list of members, a list of methods and properties like I would with a Java API definition. Is this possible?

• How can I set a connection time out manually?

  I use connect(socketfd, (struct sockaddr*)&remoteAddr, sizeof(remoteAddr)) to connect my iPhone to a computer (over WIFI) and it works fine so far. However if the computer is out of reach, my iPhone tries to establish a connection for more than a min. Is there a posibility to set the time manually out to a new value, e.g. 15 sec?

I know of this question: How to replace new lines with tab characters - but it does produce an tab on end instead of new line.   Are Zend_Db_Select's where() method, when including the optional value to quite into, and Zend_Db_Adapte's quoteInto() methods basically the same as far as escaping SQL? In other words, are these two pieces of quote identical and equally secure? $select->where($this->getAdapter()->quoteInto('id = ?', 3)); $select->where(id = ?, 3); Thanks!

  That is when you have any jar file attached to you your class path. then as far as i know any class from the jar is loaded for the first time when, when you create any object of that type. or If you are accessing any static member or method of that class. or when you load that by using Class.forName() method.   Hi, I guess it has to do something with string being a reference type but I dont get why simply string.Replace("X","Y") does not work? Why I need to do `string A=stringB.Replace("X","Y") I thought it is just a method to be done on specified instance? Thanks for explanation EDIT: Thank you so far. • Install python 2.6 in CentOS

  I have a shell that runs CentOS For a project I'm doing I need python 2.5+ but centOS is pretty dependent on 2.4 From what I've read a number of things will break if you upgrade to 2.5 I wan't to install 2.5 separately from 2.4 but I'm not sure how to do it. So far I've downloaded the source tarball, untarred it and did a ./configure --prefix=/opt which is where I want it to end up. can I now just make, make install ? or is there more?

  Hey everybody, I'm looking for a more robust and fully featured GUI SVN manager for Mac than what is built into XCode (which works, but only as long as you don't need anything beyond the bare basics and doesn't work for versioning scripts and such created in other editors). I can use the terminal commands, but I'd really like the option of using a GUI. On windows I use TortoiseSVN and Visual SVN, which do pretty much everything I need, but as far as I'm aware there's nothing even remotely resembling those on the Mac side.

• Compile aspx page "on the fly"

  I am trying to build an aspx page at runtime (by another aspx page which finally redirects to the new one). As far as I understand, aspx pages MUST be precompiled before a user can view them. In other words, the aspx page must be compiled to the DLL in the /bin folder. Is there a away to tell IIS, or to order it by VB.NET code, to compile a page before I am redirecting my user to the page? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

• Completely Removing Views from memory

  I have a view which is set up to train 'voiceprints' of words (this voiceprint code is not mine), and another view which has a slideshow which is controlled by the voiceprint. Unfortunately, these views conflict because they are still in memory. As far as I know, viewDidUnload and dealloc are only called in low-memory situations, and dealloc should not be called directly, so how do I completely remove a view. These views are within uinavigationcontrollers by the way.

• Is it possible to cancel a BeginRead on a NamedPipeServerStream without closing the pipe?

  What the title says, really. I have a named pipe. I would like to attempt a read, but if it doesn't succeed after a timeout I'd like to still be able to use the pipe afterwards. Is this possible with NamedPipeServerStream, or do I have to rethink the entire approach? So far the only way I've found of cancelling a BeginRead is by disposing of the pipe.

Except when I am adding a class.m that uses CGRect (or other structs, CGPoint etc) to the unit test target (under "Compile Sources") - I am getting a compilation error: "'CGRect' undeclared (first use in this function)". I tried messing with my unit test target in various ways, but so far I haven't been able to get past this. What am I missing?

• From a Java programming perspective, what difference does multicast make to a networking program?

  My manager has asked me to assess what changes would be required to add multicast support to a socket-based TCP/IP networking program that is part of a trading system. As far as I can tell, from the perspective of a Java program, it doesn't seem to matter too much whether the program is unicast or multicast. Doesn't the Java networking API make all of this transparent? By this I mean, wouldn't the change be a simple one of simply adding additional destinations for the outgoing connections?

  Hello, I want to make some url rewrite rules on my .htaccess file so that this link: http://myseite.com/index.php?var1=value1&var2=value2 will become : http://myseite.com/var1/value2.html So far I have managed successfully to solve this problem but only for one variable.   As far as Google searches tell me, the maximum allowed number of cookies depends very much on the browser, however I cannot find any recent data as to how much cookies are allowed on modern browsers. I need to store a somewhat large number of user preferences in cookies (for not-yet-registered users), so what would be the best way of doing that? (Also, those cookies would be accessed both via javascript client-side and php server-side)
