But I still have an issue of not able to click and drag ie Clicking the leftmouse button and dragging with another finger. It doesn't move! Maybe it doesn't detect the 2nd finger. When I check the capabilities of my Synaptics touchpad by using xinput list-props "SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad"|grep Capabilities I get the following output: Synaptics Capabilities (304): 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 Please help me out.

  • Need help identiying a nasty rootkit in Windows

    I have a nasty rootkit that not tools seem to be able to idenity. I know for sure it's a rootkit, but I can figure out which rootkit it is. Here's what I gathered so far: It creates multiple copies of itself in %HOME%\Local Settings\Temp with names like Q.EXE, IAJARZ.exe, etc., and install them as hidden services. These EXE have SysInternals identifiers in them so they're definitely rootkits. It hooked very deep in the system, including file read/write, security policies, registry read/write, and possibly WinSock/TCP/IP. When going to Sophos.com to download their software, the rootkit inject something called Microsoft Ajax Tootkit into the page, which injects code into the email submission form in order to redirect it. (EDIT: I might have panicked. Looks like Sophos does use an AJAZ email form, their form is just broken on Chrome so it looked like a mail form injection attack, the link is http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/virus-removal-tool/download.aspx ) Super-Antispyware found a lot of spyware cookies, in the name of .kaspersky.2o7.net, etc. (just chedk 2o7.net, looks like it's a legit ad company) I tried comparing DNS lookup from the infected systems and from system in other physical locations, no DNS redirections it seems. I used dd to copy the MBR and compared it with the MBR provided by ms-sys package, no differences so it's not infecting MBR. No antivirus or rootkit scanner be able to identify it. Most of them can't even find it. I tried scanning, in-situ (normal mode), in safe mode, and boot to linux live CD. Scanners used: Avast, Sophos anti rootkit, Kasersky TDSSKiller, GMER, RootkitRevealer, and many others. Kaspersky reported some unsigned system files that ought to be signed (e.g. tcpip.sys), and reported a number of MD5 mismatches. But otherwise couldn't identify anything based on signature. When running Sysinternal RootkitRevealer and Sophos AntiRootkit, CPU usage goes up to 100% and gets stucked. The Rootkit is blocking them. When trying running/installing HiJackThis, RootkitRevealer and some other scanners, it tells me system security policy prevent running/installing it. The list of malicious acitivities go on and on. here's a sample of logs from all my scans. In particular, aswSnx.SYS, apnenfno.sys and PROCMON20.SYS has a huge number of hooks. It's hard to tell if the rootkit replaced legit program files like aswSnx.SYS (from Avast) and PROCMON20.SYS (from Sysinternal Process Monitor). I can't find whether apnenfno.sys is from a legit program. Help to identify it is appreciated.   • Best data-structure to use for two ended sorted list

    I need a collection data-structure that can do the following: Be sorted Allow me to quickly pop values off the front and back of the list Remain sorted after I insert a new value Allow a user-specified comparison function, as I will be storing tuples and want to sort on a particular value Thread-safety is not required Optionally allow efficient haskey() lookups (I'm happy to maintain a separate hash-table for this though) My thoughts at this stage are that I need a priority queue and a hash table, although I don't know if I can quickly pop values off both ends of a priority queue. I'm interested in performance for a moderate number of items (I would estimate less than 200,000). Another possibility is simply maintaining an OrderedDictionary and doing an insertion sort it every-time I add more data to it. Furthermore, are there any particular implementations in Python. I would really like to avoid writing this code myself.

  • Redirect print in Python: val = print(arg) to output mixed iterable to file

    So lets say I have an incredibly nested iterable of lists/dictionaries. I would like to print them to a file as easily as possible. Why can't I just redirect print to a file? val = print(arg) gets a SyntaxError. Is there a way to access stdinput? And why does print take forever with massive strings? Bad programming on my side for outputting massive strings, but quick debugging--and isn't that leveraging the strength of an interactive prompt? There's probably also an easier way than my gripe. Has the hive-mind an answer?

    I know that cons returns a seq and conj returns a collection. I also know that conj "adds" the item to the optimal end of the collection, and cons always "adds" the item to the front. This example illustrates both of these points: user=> (conj [1 2 3] 4) //returns a collection [1 2 3 4] user=> (cons 4 [1 2 3]) //returns a seq (4 1 2 3) For vectors, maps, and sets these differences make sense to me. However, for lists they seem identical. user=> (conj '(3 2 1) 4) (4 3 2 1) user=> (cons 4 '(3 2 1)) (4 3 2 1) Are there any examples using lists where conj vs. cons exhibit different behaviors, or are they truly interchangeable? Phrased differently, is there an example where a list and a seq cannot be used equivalently?

    . . Hi there, everybody. . . I need to do an app to be distributed ad hoc (it doesn't need to go to the store) but I need to get the information about the "data usage" (gprs/3g traffic). It is available on the system, but there is no official API call to get that info. One app made it through Apple testing (it's called "Download Meter"), though, and I emailed the guys to see if they would share the call, but they were not in that mood. . . Is there any list of private APIs or anything like that? Does anyone have any ideas of how could I get that info? Again: the app doesn't need to go to the store, but I need to install it on stock iPhone (ad hoc will do). . Thanks.

    I'm trying to create a file that has a list of directories that have a specific file name in them. Let's say I'm trying to find directories that have a file named *.joe in them. I initially tried just a simple dir /ad *.joe > dir_list.txt , but it searches the directory names for *.joe, so no go. Then I concluded that a for loop was probably my best bet. I started with for /d /r %a in ('dir *.joe /b') do @echo %a >> dir_list.txt and it looked like it wasn't executing the dir command. I added the "usebackq", but that seems to only work for the /F command extension. Ideas?

  • List of IP addresses/hostnames from local network in Python

    How can I get a list of the IP addresses or host names from a local network easily in Python? It would be best if it was multi-platform, but it needs to work on Mac OS X first, then others follow. Edit: By local I mean all active addresses within a local network, such as 192.168.xxx.xxx. So, if the IP address of my computer (within the local network) is 192.168.1.1, and I have three other connected computers, I would want it to return the IP addresses 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3, 192.168.1.4, and possibly their hostnames.
