  • Non-object when adding code into html

    Hello. I am getting the following error: Fatal error: Call to a member function error() on a non-object in /home/gamepla3/public_html/football/result.php on line 177 The line for this is <?php echo $form->error("homescore"); ?> I'm failing to see how this could be the case? The thing worked fine before I added working code into my html document so it looked better. Now I can't get it working?? EDIT. When the code is not within HTML, it works fine. Once I have it within the HTML, it throws back an error? Has anyone seen anything like this before?

    What I would like to do, is be able to pass two attributes to a user control, a ListName and a Permission, like so: <uc:check id="uc" List="Shared Documents" Permission="OpenItems" runat="server"> <!-- have some HTML content here that is rendered if the permission is true --> </uc:check> Then in the actual check user control, have something similar to: <%@ Control language="C#" ClassName="check" %> <% // determine permission magic placeholder if (DoesUserHavePermissions(perm)) { // render nested HTML content } else { // abort rendering as to not show nested HTML content } %> I have read the page on creating a templated control on MSDN, and while that would work - it really seems to be a bit overkill for what I am trying to do.   • Jquery html() and self closing tags

    While creating self contained elements with Jquery html() the following issue happens: $('#someId').html('<li><input type="checkbox" /></li>') will create <li><input type="checkbox"></li> It closes correctly the <li> tag but not the <input> It seems its an issue from innerHtml which is used in the html() function. I have looked everywhere and found a solution for this but the page is not available anymore as you see in: http://dev.jquery.it/ticket/3378 Anybody knows how to fix this?

    My Friends, I really want to extract a simple IP address from a string (actually an one-line html) using Python. But it turns out that 2 hours passed I still couldn't come up with a good solution. >>> s = "<html><head><title>Current IP Check</title></head><body>Current IP Address: 165.91.15.131</body></html>" -- '165.91.15.131' is what I want!     Hello my fellow coders, As i notice for a while now (like everybody else in the industry), the RIA market is shifting from AS3/Flex to HTML/Javascript. What i would like to know is? Is html/javascript as powerfull as as3/Flex or are they entirely different. With other words can i build the exact same applictions with HTML(4/5) and Javascript as i can do with AS3/Flex? I'm not looking for the speed comparison? or bashing one technology over the other? I just want to know if is good for me to dive into javascript, JQuery...... PS.     Hi Is it possible to have to make a html for helper in asp.net mvc 2.0 have a default value of "empty string" Like if I do this Html.TextBoxFor( u => u.ProductName) would render to <input id ="ProductName" name="ProdcutName" type="text" value="Jim" /> Now I don't want the textbox to display jim. I want it to display nothing. <input id ="ProductName" name="ProdcutName" type="text" value="" /> I tried to do this Html.TextBoxFor( u => u.ProductName, new { @value = " "}) but that seems to do nothing. So how can I do this. I hope you can do something like this otherwise I think these new helpers have a great flaw since now I need to use like javascript to remove them since I hardly ever want a default value in the textbox especially when I have a label right beside the textbox saying what it is.

    I am looking for suitable replacement code that allows me replace the content inside of any HTML tag that has a certain class e.g. $class = "blah"; $content = "new content"; $html = '<div class="blah">hello world</div>'; // code to replace, $html now looks like: // <div class="blah">new content</div> Bare in mind that: It wont necessarily be a div, it could be <h2 class="blah"> The class can have more than one class and still needs to be replaced e.g. <div class="foo blah green">hello world</div> I am thinking regular expressions should be able to do this, if not I am open to other suggestions such as using the DOM class (although I would rather avoid this if possible because it has to be PHP4 compatible).

    I am still trying to figure out how to create reusable partial views in MVC Lets say I would like to create a partial view to display a form for submitting an address. Then in my ViewModel I have two addresses (Home address & Work Address) So I would think that in my view I call HTML.Partial for each one like this @Html.Partial("Address", Model.HomeAddress) @Html.Partial("Address", Model.WorkAddress) but what happens is instead of the fields having names like HomeAddress.Street, HomeAddress.City etc. they just have the regular field names Street, City, etc. so the binder on the HTTPPost action has no idea what to do with them Thanks in advance

I have PHP set up correctly because I have no problem running .php files. The problem, it seems to me, is that IIS can't render php code embedded inside html. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or should i switch to Apache?

  • Launching default browser with html from file, then jump to specific anchor

    I need to open an html file from the program root directory and have it jump to a specified anchor. I can open the file perfectly fine with a simple System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("site.html") but as soon as I try to add the anchor to the end it ceases to be able to find the file. I was able to put the anchor in there and still have it launch with string Anchor Anchor = "file:///" + Environment.CurrentDirectory.ToString().Replace("\", "/") + "/site.html#Anchor"; System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(Anchor); However as soon as the browser launches it drops the anchor. Any suggestions?

[DisplayName("User Name")] public string Name { get; set; } <%: Html.TextBoxFor( m => m.Name ) :%> and then in your HTML, you get a result like this.. <label for="UserName">User Name</label> <input type="text" id="UserName" name="UserName" /> That works fine, but I want to have better control over the HTML ID. Is there any way to do this through the model binding method?

    I need to match html tags(the whole tag), based on the tag name. For script tags I have this: <script.+src=.+(\.js|\.axd).+(</script>|>) It correctly matches both tags in the following html: <script src="Scripts/JScript1.js" type="text/javascript" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="Scripts/JScript2.js" /> However, when I do link tags with the following: <link.+href=.+(\.css).+(</link>|>) It matches all of this at once(eg it returns one match containing both items): <link href="Stylesheets/StyleSheet1.css" rel="Stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link href="Stylesheets/StyleSheet2.css" rel="Stylesheet" type="text/css" /> What am I missing here? The regexes are essentially identical except for the text to match to? Also, I know that regex is not a great tool for HTML parsing...I will probably end up using the HtmlAgilityPack in the end, but this is driving me nuts and I want an answer if only for my own mental health!

Can I use a HTML/JS/CSS - C# combination with event handlers and all? Something like ASP.NET Webforms/MVC . I know it is not the same client server architecture, but since metro styled apps support HTML/JS, I was wondering. I can use Win-JS. But can I rather write C# than Javascript, and use HTML rather than XAML?(I dont know XAML and I like C#) All the C# samples I found online use XAML.

  • Any suggestions in a way to parse headers and links from blog pages using C#?

    I'm currently self-studying C# in my free time and thought of a "little" project to get me going (and one that I or others will actually find useful). It ended up being more complicated than I thought. Or maybe I'm just thinking it is? Anyway, this project would parse the homepages of the blogs (most of them are Wordpress blogs) I frequent to, take the post headers and the links within those posts and notify me via a balloon tip in the task bar. I can handle the rest except for the way of getting C# to parse the HTML pages for the items I need. C# doesn't seem to have no built-in way to do this. Could anyone point me to the right direction? I just looked into the HTML Agility Pack but I'm still trying to figure it out. Some example code will help much too. Thanks in advance!

    Using jQuery to create new DOM elements from text. Example: jQuery('<div><img src="/some_image.gif"></img></div>'); When this statement is executed, it causes the browser to request the file 'some_img.gif' from the server. Is there a way to execute this statement so that the resulting jQuery object can be used from DOM traversal, but not actually cause the browser to hit the server with requests for images and other referenced content? Example: var jquery_elememnts = jQuery('<div><img class="a_class" src="/some_image.gif"></img></div>'); var img_class = jquery_elememnts.find('img').attr('class'); The only idea I have now is to use regex to remove all of the 'src' tags from image elements and other things that will trigger the browser requests before using jQuery to evaluate the HTML. How can jQuery be used to evaluate HTML without triggering the browser to make requests to the server for referenced content inside the evaluated HTML? Thanks!
