• Disabling Windows Server 2008 firewall

  I am very stupid. I applied a windows firewall rule that blocks all tcp connection and thus kicking me out of remote desktop on a dedicated server. I managed to get into recovery via VNC, which is basically a windows xp recovery system. I have access to the physical files of the Windows Server 2008 R2 installation, but I don't know how to disable the firewall so I can reboot from recovery and connect to the W2K8 via remote desktop. Please, help.

  I am trying to create a trust relationship between JIRA and Confluence so that I can insert JIRA issues into Confluence documents. However, in JIRA, when I try to initiate the relationship, I receive the error: "Unable to auto-configure a Consumer as the remote Consumer-Info count not be found.". When I attempt to create the relationship from Confluence, I receive this error: "Unable to auto-configure a Consumer as the remote Consumer-Info could not be found." What am I doing wrong here?

• Why does PSEXEC work if I don't specify a password?

  When I run PSEXEC to launch a process on a remote machine, if I specify the password in the command line it fails with: PsExec could not start cmd.exe on web1928: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. psexec \\web1928 -u remoteexec -p mypassword "cmd.exe" If I just specify: psexec \\web1928 -u remoteexec "cmd.exe" and type in the password it works just fine. The originating server is Windows 2003 and the remote server is Windows 2008 SP2.

  I would like to use all my monitors for the remote session (an option in RDC dialogue) if I connect (from Windows 7) to the one server with Windows 2008 R2 it works OK (I have remote connection on my all monitors) when do I connect to the another server with Windows 7 it just wound not use all my monitors, but just one (full screen mode).   I successfully configured Postfix to deliver messages to virtual mailboxes. I can set aliases and pipes inside /etc/postfix/virtual and mailboxes inside /etc/postfix/virtual_mailbox files. However, whenever I set a catch-all domain and point to a remote email address, it overrides all other virtual mailboxes and virtual aliases set in postfix. How can I set a catch-all forwarding to the remote email address when virtual mailbox is enabled? I set catch-all like this: @mydomain.com [email protected] Thanks for your help!

I like sshfs, because with it I can work with the remote files the same way as with my local files. Is there any similar to Windows, that can map a network drive through ssh? • ssh-keygen works for root only?

  Does ssh-keygen -t rsa work if only set for root user i.e, if the username on local system is sodium and i generate the key using the above said command and on the remote system if i place the key in /root/.ssh authorized_keys ,this works. But on the remote system if the key is placed in /home/natrium/.ssh authorized_keys This still prompts for a password.Is this the expected behavior or is that some thing wrong in the above procedure Thanks..

  When using SSH to send a command to a remote server, if the SSH connection dies the process keeps running. Are there any ways to have it kill the child processes if the SSH connection ends? Example: root@local:~# ssh root@server sleep 100 & [2] 15762 root@local:~# kill 15762 [2]+ Stopped ssh root@server sleep 100 After running the above, the sleep command is still running on the remote host. • Rsync --backup-dir seems to be ignored

  I want to use rsync to backup a directory from a local location to a remote location, and store changed files in another remote location. I did use: rsync -rcvhL --progress --backup [email protected]:/home/user/Changes/`date +%Y.%m.%d` . [email protected]:/home/user/Files/ The --backup-dir stays empty, while it should be filled.
