• Replace multible data codes in a datafram with names

  I have a problem in replacing codes in a dataframe of 3890 observations. My dataframe has a character variable df$IJN which contains values from 1 to 27. I would like to replace these with meaningful data as follow If(1 OR 6 OR 10 OR 14 OR 18 OR 22 OR 26) should be replaced with UL. If(3 OR 7 OR 11 OR 15 OR 19 OR 23 OR 27) should be replaced with LL. If(4 OR 8 OR 12 OR 16 OR 20 OR 24) should be replaced with UR. If(5 OR 9 OR 13 OR 17 OR 21 OR 25) should be replaced with LR. (U,L,R,and L Refer to Upper, Lower, Right, and Left sites in the order) I thought of a for() with if() could not manage with it Also thought of df[which(df=="27")] ="LL" may work one by one not sure!   suppose that we have three array int a[]=new int[]{4,6,8,9,11,12}; int b[]=new int[]{3,5,7,13,14}; int c[]=new int[]{1,2,15,16,17}; and we want to merge it into one big d array where d.length=a.length+b.length+c.length but we have memory problem it means that we must need use only this d array where we should merge these these three array of course we can use merge sort but can we use merge algorithm without sorting method? like two sorted array we can merge in one sorted array what about three or more array?

  Hello everyone, I am using SQL Server 2008 Enterprise. When we met with such error message from stored procedure, Message 1205, Level 13, State 52, the process Pr_FooV2, Line 9 Services (Process ID 111) and another process is deadlock in the lock | communication buffer resources, and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction. I am wondering whether such messages are stored in log files? I searched log folder of my SQL Server 2008 installation root (in my environment, it is C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Log), but can not find such files. thanks in advance, George

I want to recover the colXX value by hour.... then I can recover with "decode" or "case when..." but I want know if exists any way to recover the column by a text like this: select "col"||hour from table; in the hypothetical above example if hour is 13 then would be translated like: select col13 from table; there is any way to do this ?

I only need the hours but since I have to save date. it appears like this: Date companyWorkStartHour; Date companyWorkEndHour; start hours: 12-12-2001-13:00:00 finish hours: 12-12-2001-18:00:00 I have the timezone of the company and of the user. (my server may be in another timezone). TimeZone userTimeZone; TimeZone companyTimeZone; I need to check if the user's current time (considering his timezone) is within the company working hours (considering the company's time zone). That is to say the first row in the matrix {10,23,16,20,2,4} has 4 numbers from arr, this array should be grouped with the rest of the rows with 4 numbers from arr. better to use linq, thank you very much!

Ok here is the rephrase : Number 1000 is the range number 990 is comming in the loop, I return true because the between 990 and 1000 is 10 numbers diference. In comes the next number 989 range is always 1000, I return false because the between 989 and 1000 is 11 numbers diference. In comes the next number 1013 range is always 1000, I return false because the between 1013 and 1000 is 13 numbers diference.

  I am writing a small program for my assignment to find the primitive roots of a prime number. So far, the program works for smaller prime numbers till 13 and gives correct number of roots. But for higher primes numbers, it is showing only fewer primitive roots. And now i got stuck for the prime number 41, shows no primitive roots for it. I used DOUBLE datatype for the calculation, and again tried with the datatype DECIMAL, but no luck. Does anyone know about this kind of problem??? Thank you.

• How to handle this "session failed to write file" error in PHP?

  I am using the Kohana 3 framework, and am using the native session driver. For some reason, occasionally the sessions fail to write to their file. Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/tmp/sess_*****, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in /home/site/public_html/system/classes/kohana/session/native.php on line 27 I am pretty sure Kohana has its own in built error handler, but it is not triggered with this error (i.e. it shows up like a normal PHP error, not the Kohana error). Anyone that has ever used Kohana will notice this seems to have bypassed Kohana's error handling (perhaps set with set_error_handler()). Is there anyway to stop this error from appearing without switching from the native session (i.e. file based) driver? Should I just give good practice the boot and append an @ error suppressor to session_start() in the core code of Kohana? Should I relax the error_reporting()? Thanks
