  • Shift+Tab not working in TreeView control

    - by Christian
    I cannot get backwards navigation using Shift+Tab to work in a TreeView that contains TextBoxs, forward navigation using Tab works fine and jump from TextBox to TextBox inside the TreeView. Anytime Shift+Tab is used when one of the TextBoxes inside the TreeView, then the focus is move to the previous control outside the TreeView, instead of the previous control inside the TreeView. Also its only Shift+Tab navigation that are not working correctly, Ctrl+Shift+Tab work as expected and in the correct order. Any suggestions to what I'm doing wrong? Example code: <Window x:Class="TestTabTreeView.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525"> <Window.Resources> <Style TargetType="TreeViewItem"> <Setter Property="KeyboardNavigation.TabNavigation" Value="Continue" /> </Style> </Window.Resources> <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="Auto" /> <RowDefinition Height="*" /> <RowDefinition Height="Auto" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <TextBox Text="First Line" Grid.Row="0" /> <TreeView Grid.Row="1" KeyboardNavigation.TabNavigation="Continue" IsTabStop="False"> <TreeViewItem IsExpanded="True"><TreeViewItem.Header><TextBox Text="Popular Words"/></TreeViewItem.Header> <TreeViewItem><TreeViewItem.Header><TextBox Text="Foo"/></TreeViewItem.Header></TreeViewItem> <TreeViewItem><TreeViewItem.Header><TextBox Text="Bar"/></TreeViewItem.Header></TreeViewItem> <TreeViewItem><TreeViewItem.Header><TextBox Text="Hello"/></TreeViewItem.Header></TreeViewItem> </TreeViewItem> <TreeViewItem IsExpanded="True"><TreeViewItem.Header><TextBox Text="Unpopular Words"/></TreeViewItem.Header> <TreeViewItem><TreeViewItem.Header><TextBox Text="Work"/></TreeViewItem.Header></TreeViewItem> <TreeViewItem><TreeViewItem.Header><TextBox Text="Duplication"/></TreeViewItem.Header></TreeViewItem> </TreeViewItem> </TreeView> <TextBox Text="Last Line" Grid.Row="2" /> </Grid>

  • Trying to get a better understanding of SelectedValuePath and IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem

    - by rasx
    The following XAML produces a run-time Binding error when I click on an item in the ListBox: <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:sys="clr-namespace:System;assembly=mscorlib" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Class="WpfApplication1.MainWindow" x:Name="Window" Title="MainWindow" Width="640" Height="480"> <Window.Resources> <x:Array x:Key="strings" Type="{x:Type sys:String}"> <sys:String>one</sys:String> <sys:String>two</sys:String> <sys:String>three</sys:String> <sys:String>four</sys:String> </x:Array> </Window.Resources> <Grid> <ListBox DataContext="{StaticResource strings}" IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="True" ItemsSource="{Binding}" SelectedValuePath="{Binding /Length}"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid> <Grid.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type Label}"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="Yellow"/> <Setter Property="Margin" Value="0,0,4,0"/> <Setter Property="Padding" Value="0"/> </Style> </Grid.Resources> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition/> <ColumnDefinition/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition/> <RowDefinition/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <!-- Row 0 --> <Label Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="0">String:</Label> <TextBlock Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="0" Text="{Binding}"/> <!-- Row 1 --> <Label Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="1">Length:</Label> <TextBlock Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="1" Text="{Binding Length, Mode=Default}"/> </Grid> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> </Grid> </Window> This is the run-time Binding error message: System.Windows.Data Error: 39 : BindingExpression path error: '3' property not found on 'object' ''String' (HashCode=1191344027)'. BindingExpression:Path=3; DataItem='String' (HashCode=1191344027); target element is 'ListBox' (Name=''); target property is 'NoTarget' (type 'Object') I would like the selected value of the ListBox to be the Length of the selected String object. What is wrong with my SelectedValuePath Binding syntax? Are there any related issues with IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem?

  • CollectionViewSource & Selective Column Display

    - by Berryl
    By selective column display i mean the following: a control shows a listing of widgets (WidgetVm.DisplayName), with the default display name being in English (WidgetVm.EnglishName), but with the option to show the widget in French (WidgetVm.FrenchName). There also sorting and filtering available, which is why CollectionViewSource seems ideal. I know you can have multiple views over the same source but I haven't figured out how to do this yet. Is that the right approach to solving this? How? Cheers, Berryl

  • Trouble binding command in grid menu item.

    - by Pete
    I have a grid that's inside a usercontrol derived class called MediatedUserControl. I'm adding a context menu to let the user delete an item, but I've been unable to figure out how to bind the command to my command property. I'm using MVVM and my viewmodel implements a public ICommand property called DeleteSelectedItemCommand. However, when the view is displayed, I get the following message in the output window: System.Windows.Data Error: 4 : Cannot find source for binding with reference 'RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType='BRO.View.MediatedUserControl', AncestorLevel='1''. BindingExpression:Path=DataContext.DeleteSelectedItemCommand; DataItem=null; target element is 'BarButtonItem' (HashCode=6860584); target property is 'Command' (type 'ICommand') I feel like I generally have a good handle on bindings like this and can't figure out what it is I'm missing here. Thanks for any help you can provide. <dxg:GridControl HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="12,88,0,0" x:Name="gridControl1" VerticalAlignment="Top" Height="500" Width="517" DataSource="{Binding ItemList}" BorderBrush="{StaticResource {x:Static SystemColors.ActiveBorderBrushKey}}" ShowBorder="True" Background="{StaticResource {x:Static SystemColors.ControlLightBrushKey}}" UseLayoutRounding="False" DataContext="{Binding}"> <dxg:GridControl.Columns> <dxg:GridColumn FieldName="Code" Header="Code" Width="107" /> <dxg:GridColumn FieldName="Name" Header="Item" Width="173" /> <dxg:GridColumn FieldName="PricePerItem" Header="Unit Price" Width="70"> <dxg:GridColumn.EditSettings> <dxe:TextEditSettings DisplayFormat="N2" /> </dxg:GridColumn.EditSettings> </dxg:GridColumn> <dxg:GridColumn FieldName="Quantity" Header="Qty" Width="50" AllowEditing="True" /> <dxg:GridColumn FieldName="TotalPrice" Header="Total Price" Width="90"> <dxg:GridColumn.EditSettings> <dxe:TextEditSettings DisplayFormat="N2" /> </dxg:GridColumn.EditSettings> </dxg:GridColumn> </dxg:GridControl.Columns> <dxg:GridControl.View> <dxg:TableView ShowIndicator="False" ShowGroupPanel="False" MultiSelectMode="Row" AllowColumnFiltering="False" AllowBestFit="False" AllowFilterEditor="False" AllowEditing="False" AllowGrouping="False" AllowSorting="False" AllowResizing="False" AllowMoving="False" AllowMoveColumnToDropArea="False" AllowDateTimeGroupIntervalMenu="False" > <dxg:TableView.RowCellMenuCustomizations> <dxb:BarButtonItem Name="deleteRowItem" Command="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType=view:MediatedUserControl, AncestorLevel=1}, Path=DataContext.DeleteSelectedItemCommand}"> </dxb:BarButtonItem> </dxg:TableView.RowCellMenuCustomizations> </dxg:TableView> </dxg:GridControl.View>

  • Escape from DataContext

    - by grayscales
    I have a window that get its data from another class that is passed as DataContext. But I now also want to do data binding within the window. The window looks as follows: <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <StackPanel> <TextBlock Text="{Binding UserName}" /> <TextBlock x:Name="TestTextBlock">Hello World</TextBlock> <TextBlock x:Name="TestTextBlock2" Text="{Binding ElementName=TestTextBlock,Path=Text}" /> </StackPanel> </Window> The binding between the text blocks TestTextBlock and TestTextBlock2 works fine, but only until I change the DataContext-property of the window. How can I bind between those two textblocks so that changing the DataContext will not break the data binding? Thanks in advance, Stefan

  • Is there a way to do simple calculations in a xaml element binding statement other than using a conv

    - by Jonathan Websdale
    In XAML I want to bind the height of one element to be half the height of another element. Is there a way to do this that doesn't involve writing a converter in the code-behind? Example:- What I've got... <Button Name="RemoveButton" Content="Remove Stage" Width="100" Height="{Binding ElementName=AddButton, Path=Height, Converter={StaticResource MyHalfHeightConverter}}"/> What I'd like... <Button Name="RemoveButton" Content="Remove Stage" Width="100" Height="{Binding ElementName=AddButton, Path=(Height / 2.0)}"/>

  • UI not redrawing after display powered off on Win 7

    - by oltman
    Some portions of my application's interface are not getting refreshed after Windows 7 powers down the display. More specifically, I'm swapping out images, User Controls, and a button's content while the display is powered off and after it has been restarted, and this isn't being reflected in the UI until I minimize and restore the window or move it to one of the screen's edges. I've tried calling the Window's InvalidateVisual() method when the app was in a state where it needed to redraw, and that didn't solve the problem. I have only been able to reproduce this issue on Windows 7. Any ideas?

  • How to restart a wcf server from within a client?

    - by djerry
    Hey guys, I'm using Wcf for server - client communication. The server will need to run as a service, so there's no GUI. The admin can change settings using the client program and for those changes to be made on server, it needs to restart. This is my server setup NetTcpBinding binding = new NetTcpBinding(SecurityMode.Message); Uri address = new Uri("net.tcp://localhost:8000"); //_svc = new ServiceHost(typeof(MonitoringSystemService), address); _monSysService = new MonitoringSystemService(); _svc = new ServiceHost(_monSysService, address); publishMetaData(_svc, "http://localhost:8001"); _svc.AddServiceEndpoint(typeof(IMonitoringSystemService), binding, "Monitoring Server"); _svc.Open(); MonitoringSystemService is a class i'm using to handle client - server comm. It looks like this: [CallbackBehavior(ConcurrencyMode = ConcurrencyMode.Reentrant)] [ServiceBehavior(InstanceContextMode = InstanceContextMode.Single, MaxItemsInObjectGraph = 2147483647)] public class MonitoringSystemService : IMonitoringSystemService {} So i need to call a restart method on the client to the server, but i don't know how to restart (even stop - start) the server. I hope i'm not missing any vital information. Thanks in advance.

  • How do I stop ValueConverters from firing when swapping the content of a ContentControl

    - by DanM
    I thought what I was doing was right out of the Josh Smith MVVM handbook, but I seem to be having a lot of problems with value converters firing when no data in the view-model has changed. So, I have a ContentControl defined in XAML like this: <ContentControl Grid.Row="0" Content="{Binding CurrentViewModel}" /> The Window containing this ContentControl references a resource dictionary that looks something like this: <ResourceDictionary ...> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type lib_vm:SetupPanelViewModel}"> <lib_v:SetupPanel /> </DataTemplate> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type lib_vm:InstructionsPanelViewModel}"> <lib_v:InstructionsPanel /> </DataTemplate> </ResourceDictionary> So, basically, the two data templates specify which view to show with which view-model. This switches the views as expected whenever the CurrentViewModel property on my window's view-model changes, but it also seems to cause value converters on the views to fire even when no data has changed. It's a particular problem with IMultiValueConverter classes, because the values in the value array get set to DependencyProperty.UnsetValue, which causes exceptions unless I specifically check for that. But I'm getting other weird side effects too. This has me wondering if I shouldn't just do everything manually, like this: Instantiate each view. Set the DataContext of each view to the appropriate view-model. Give the ContentControl a name and make it public. Handle the PropertyChanged event for the window. In the event handler, manually set the Content property of the ContentControl to the appropriate view, based the CurrentViewModel (using if statements). This seems to work, but it also seems very inelegant. I'm hoping there's a better way. Could you please advise me the best way to handle view switching so that value converters don't fire unnecessarily?

  • How do you replace an entire xaml element?

    - by luke
    <ListView> <ListView.Resources> <DataTempalte x:Key="label"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Label}"/> </DataTEmplate> <DataTemplate x:Key="editor"> <UserControl Content="{Binding Control.content}"/> <!-- This is the line --> </DataTemplate> </ListView.Resources> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Header="Name" CellTemplate="{StaticResource label}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="Value" CellTemplate="{StaticResource editor}"/> </GridView> </ListView.View> On the marketed line, I'm replacing the contents of a UserControl with the contents of another UserControl that is dynamically created in code. I'd like to replace the entire control, and not just the content. Is there a way to do this?

  • Dependency Property ListBox

    - by developer
    Hi All, I want to use a dependency property, so that my label displays values selected in the listbox. This is just to more clearly understand the working of a dependency property. <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:WPFToolkit="clr-namespace:Microsoft.Windows.Controls;assembly=WPFToolkit" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:WpfApplication1" x:Name="MyWindow" Height="200" Width="300" > <StackPanel> <ListBox x:Name="lbColor" Width="248" Height="56" ItemsSource="{Binding TestColor}"/> <StackPanel> <Label Content="{Binding Path=Test, ElementName=lbColor}" /> </StackPanel> </StackPanel> </Window> Code Behind, namespace WpfApplication1 { /// <summary> /// Interaction logic for Window1.xaml /// </summary> public partial class Window1 : Window { public ObservableCollection<string> TestColor { get; set; } public String Test { get { return (String)GetValue(TestProperty); } set { SetValue(TestProperty, value); } } // Using a DependencyProperty as the backing store for Title. This enables animation, styling, binding, etc... public static readonly DependencyProperty TestProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("Test", typeof(String), typeof(ListBox), new UIPropertyMetadata("Test1")); public Window1() { InitializeComponent(); TestColor = new ObservableCollection<string>(); DataContext = this; TestColor.Add("Red"); TestColor.Add("Orange"); TestColor.Add("Yellow"); TestColor.Add("Green"); TestColor.Add("Blue"); } } } Can anyone explain me how will I accompalish this using a dependency property. Somehow I am very confused with the Dependency Property concept, and I just wanted to see a working example for that.

  • Access objects in button event handler

    - by developer
    How to access list of observable collection objects that I create in my constructor to bind to the UI, in the Save button event handler. I have created a observable collection of objects in my constructor and then I bind that in the UI. Now how will I access those objects, as I want to save them in the database. I tried doing ProgramViewModel newtest = DataContext as ProgramViewModel; But newtest is always null. Though I can see the data in when I hover my mouse over DataContext while debugging..

  • Subscribe to the Button's events into a custom control

    - by ThitoO
    Do you know how can I subscribe to an event of the base of my customControl ? I've a custom control with some dependency properties : public class MyCustomControl : Button { static MyCustomControl () { DefaultStyleKeyProperty.OverrideMetadata( typeof( MyCustomControl ), new FrameworkPropertyMetadata( typeof( MyCustomControl ) ) ); } public ICommand KeyDownCommand { get { return (ICommand)GetValue( KeyDownCommandProperty ); } set { SetValue( KeyDownCommandProperty, value ); } } public static readonly DependencyProperty KeyDownCommandProperty = DependencyProperty.Register( "KeyDownCommand", typeof( ICommand ), typeof( MyCustomControl ) ); public ICommand KeyUpCommand { get { return (ICommand)GetValue( KeyUpCommandProperty ); } set { SetValue( KeyUpCommandProperty, value ); } } public static readonly DependencyProperty KeyUpCommandProperty = DependencyProperty.Register( "KeyUpCommand", typeof( ICommand ), typeof( MyCustomControl ) ); public ICommand KeyPressedCommand { get { return (ICommand)GetValue( KeyPressedCommandProperty ); } set { SetValue( KeyPressedCommandProperty, value ); } } public static readonly DependencyProperty KeyPressedCommandProperty = DependencyProperty.Register( "KeyPressedCommand", typeof( ICommand ), typeof( MyCustomControl ) ); } And I whant to subscribe to Button's events (like MouseLeftButtonDown) to run some code in my customControl. Do you know how can I do something like this in the constructor ? static MyCustomControl() { DefaultStyleKeyProperty.OverrideMetadata( typeof( MyCustomControl ), new FrameworkPropertyMetadata( typeof( MyCustomControl ) ) ); MouseLeftButtonDownEvent += (object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) => "something"; } Thanks for you help

  • "Genie" animation effect in XAML

    - by ScottCate
    What would the XAML look like to create a Genie animation effect? Take an object of any size/shape, and "Genie" it to another Minimized location. Kind of like the OSX window minimize. Maybe even a little fancier through a smoke-like effect where the path is more switch back, instead of a simple funnel (if that makes any sense). I'm guessing that there is some sort of Path that could be drawn, and the shape could move and transform along that path. Just a wild guess. Thanks for your ideas.

I think that after formatting they get an unique ID - like MAC, right? Also I want to get other information of that partition - it's name, file system, size, etc.

  • How to update a custom dependency property when the datasource list changes

    - by John
    Hi We have a user control with a custom dependency property (DP). The DP is bound to an ObservableCollection. When a new item is added to the collection programatically, the databinding does not update the target DP. Why? We think it's because, unfortunately, in our case the target is not a ListBox or ListView, but a Canvas. The DP, when changed or initialized, is supposed to draw a Shape (!) onto the Canvas, and the shape's position and size is bound to the collection item's two properties: WIDTH, LEFT. Ideally we don't want to clear the Canvas and redraw all items just becasue one has been added (or deleted). But how? So: How can the custom DP take care of drawing the shape for the new collection item? What callback do we need, at what point in time does this have to happen, and what specific MetaDataOptions might there? Also, are there any good resources out there concerning all these dependency property options. They are quite confusing. MSDN does not really help with what we're trying to do. Thanks!

  • Native ComboBox not displaying choices correctly

    - by anothershrubery
    EDIT: It seems that ListPicker is the way to go but I have had further problems with that detailed Microsoft.Phone.Controls.Toolkit ListPicker throws XamlParseException I have the following ComboBox in code: <ComboBox x:Name="Result" Grid.Column="6" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center" Foreground="Black" Background="White"> <ComboBoxItem Content="Win" /> <ComboBoxItem Content="Place" /> <ComboBoxItem Content="Lose" /> </ComboBox> But it does not display as I would have expected. When you drop down the ComboBox the options don't appear, it's just like empty items. See below: However, when an item is selected, it displays correctly and the correct index/item is returned. See below: I'm sure there is something simple I have missed but can't put my finger on it. EDIT: Ok I am posting the full code for this. • Binding output of Custom Activity designer to activity argument

    - by gbanfill
    I am trying to add a custom activity designer for an activity that I have. The activity looks a little like: public class WaitForUserInputActvitiy : NativeActivity { public InArgument<UserInteractionProperty[]> UserInteraction { get; set; } } I am trying to put a designer on the activity to make it a bit nicer to set these values (so you don't end up typing VB in directly. My designer is based on mindscape property grid. I have an ObservableDictionary source that I want to get the values from and put them in to the InArgument. Currently I am using private void TestGrid_LostFocus(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { using (ModelEditingScope editingScope = this.ModelItem.BeginEdit()) { Argument myArg = Argument.Create(typeof(WaitForUserInputActvitiy), ArgumentDirection.In); this.ModelItem.Properties["UserInteraction"].SetValue(source.Values.ToArray()); editingScope.Complete(); } } However this results in an ArgumentException "Object of type UserInteractionProperty[] cannot be converted to InArgument`1[UserInteractionProperty[]]. So how do I convert my array of UserInteractionProperties into an InArgument?
