• Extracting a SQLCLR assembly

  One of our in-house applications has a SQLCLR assembly which is currently experiencing problems. The developer is having problems recreating the issue using the version that is stored in our source control system, so he suspects that some code may have been released that was not uploaded to source control. Is there a way to extract a SQLCLR assembly into a .dll file so that he can reverse engineer it for analysis?

• Error in eclipse on run android project

  I am trying to get a simple hello world android project working in eclipse using an android emulator. I have been using the examples on developer.android.com. I actually did have a hello world app working. I then modified it's xml files to have a text input field and a button as in the second example shows on that site. This failed to run on the emulator. I then went back and tried to create another simple hello world project, but it fails to run. The console says "Waiting for HOME ('android.process.acore') to be launched, but nothing happens or sometimes a messenger in the emulator says "unfortunately Android Wear has stopped". Below is a sample error filter on the log file. I find trying to debug this is something new to me and I am not sure the best way to go about it.   I have seen in many developer talks, the presenter using a demo.local URL instead of the conventional localhost/demo for faster access. I've read about editing host entries over here How can I create shorter URLs to sites on my computer? but my question is since the localhost IP is the same 127.0.0.1 for every folder inside my var/www or htdocs then how to make it accessible in the shorter format?

  Hi, My web server container is Tomcat 6.0.14 JVM 1.6.0_17-b04 BlazeDS 3.2.0.3978 Im sending request from the same local machine via AMF to BlazeDS server and only first request takes about 10secend to proceed. Each next request is preceeding correctly (very fast, less than 0.5s). Anyone know what's the reason of soo slow responsing? I'm a developer, not administrator so please be patient :)

  We have several different environments (developer dekstop, integration, QA, prod) which should have slightly different variants of the same httpd.conf file. As an example, the httpd.conf file configures that httpd should act as a reverse proxy and proxy certain URLs to Jetty, but the hostname of the Jetty instance is different in each environment. Is there a recommended practice for mangaging these kinds of differences? I looked around the apache documentation for the httpd.conf file and I didn't see anything that does what I need.

  How can I make a bootable backup of my Mac's internal hard drive to be restored using Disk Utility, without formatting my external destination drive as HFS+ (it's FAT32, of course)? Time Machine and SuperDuper both require that the volume where the backup is saved be HFS+ formatted. This looks helpful: http://developer.apple.com/macosx/backuponmacosx.html But it doesn't explain how to use FAT32 disk.

• Replace a SQL Server query with another before execution

  I am trying to work with a legacy application in SQL Server which at some point does the following query SELECT serverproperty('EngineEdition') as sqledition The server replies with 2 (which is the correct edition), but the application closes since the app demands to be run over SQL Server Express which is 4. We don't have access to the code and the developer is long gone. Is there a way to configure SQL Server so that when this query is received it simply returns 4 and not the value of the property? Top reports that 98% of the CPU utilization is frequently spent on "st" - Steal Time. What could cause a server to spend so much CPU on steal time, and how can I diagnose the problem? • Windows 8 install fails

  I have the windows 8 release preview 32 bit iso and it fails to install when booted out of a flash drive, it copies the files and the boot loader installs but the install hangs when I boot into Windows 8 the first time, it simply keeps on spinning forever. I did a vhd install of Windows 8 developer preview and it installed fine. Looking at the partition from Windows 7, I can see that the files are present.

• Gzip not working in browser

  According to whatsmyip.org none of my browsers (Firefox, Chrome etc) on W7 are gzip enabled, it's saying 'NO, your browser is not requesting compressed content' which agrees with Chrome developer tools as I was testing a site and it was complaining that the page and css etc weren't compressed. I've searched for an answer but cannot find anything for this. I've tested from another pc connected to the router and that works fine, something on this pc is broke.... Any help tia
