  • Rails app w/ 2.2.0 embedd how to use ruby 1.8 vice 1.9

    Hello all, I have just downloaded an app that is based on Rail 2.2.0 which is included in the app. I have just upgraded to Ruby 1.9 and I still have Ruby 1.8 on my machine. Is there a way I can tell this app to use Ruby 1.8 vice 1.9? Would it be easier to decouple the app from Rails 2.2.0 and upgrade it to Rails 2.3.6? If changing the rails would be easier, how do I do that?

    hello all i have my splash screen which i want to show in landscape mode and all other screen in potrait mode. My root view controller is acting as a splash screen i am writing this code in viewdidload method [[UIDevice currentDevice] setOrientation:UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight]; But this code is not working and shows me that UIdevice may not respond to setorentation please guide me that how could i change the orentation for only first splash screen and also other screen should be in potrait mode

    Hello, I'm curious, whether there is any way to print formated numpy.arrays, e.g., in the way similar to this: x = 1.23456 print '%.3f' % x If I want to print the numpy.array of floats, it prints several decimals, often in 'scientific' format, which is rather hard to read even for low-dimensional arrays. However, numpy.array apparently has to be printed as a string, i.e., with %s. Is there any solution ready for this purpose? Many thanks in advance :-)

My problem is that when I have finished to type my login and change the focus to the password field, there is a cursor on the login field and on the password field, but the focus is on the password field, so my question is, how can I make the cursor disappear on the login field ?     Hello, I am using vim with fugitive extension http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=2975 It has :Gdiff command which brings you into vimdiff mode, but what is the right/quick way to close/quit vimdiff mode? i.e. let's say I am editing file FooBar.txt under git repository, then firing up :Gdiff, review my changes in vimdiff and want to get back and continue editing FooBar.txt or any other file :) Thanks.

    Hello, I'm using outlook 2007. Two days ago, we've enabled auto-archiving, maybe that't the source of our problems, but I still have to investigate. At any rate, auto completion of email addresses in the to/cc/bcc fields has become a stopper, taking up to a minute to do something.     Hello there i'm trying to write a layout similar to the timepicker widget layout. So i decided to use the android framework layouts but i can't use them It seems that if i write android.R.drawable.timepicker_input or other timepicker related drawables i get them this Eclipse error: android.R.drawable.timepicker_up_btn cannot be resolved So i tried to import all the pngs and xml from the android source but eclipse says there is an error in the manifest regarding the icon. Ideas?

    Trying a bit of AJAX, and I find that much of my data is littered with underscores! Documentation confirms that this is working as intended. Any way to pass my form information to PHP intact? I'm using CodeIgniter, so my pass looks like /controller/function/variable, receiving controller: controller{ function($v=0){#what once was hello world is now hello_world...} } I can't very well do an undo, data might contain an underscore.     hello, i'm currently looking at a little 3rd-party javascript library and i see a lot of "sign-prefixed" variables in it: function_call(+value); i know, that you can swap the sign, if you prefix a variable with '-', but why to prefix something with a '+' -- it doesn't do anything to the value, no? thanks in advance!

    Hello! I have problems with Darwin Streaming server 5.5.5 on Debian. When i'm trying to open some stream, for ex. rtsp://sample.com/sample_100kbit.mp4 player reports it can't load stream and breaks connection. "Access History" section reports file was requested, so, at least initial connection is working, but nothing more. What can be wrong and what to check?

    Hello, A DAS box is attached to my linux box using LSI SCSI HBA. Volume is properly detected on the linux box and filesystem is created using mkfs.ext2 /dev/sdc #No partition table I can not mount the volume using mount/dev/sdc /mnt/temp -t ext3 But I can mount it using mount /dev/sdc /mnt/temp -t ext3 -o loop Can anybody please tell me what "-o loop" option does internally?     Hello: we currently do not use asp.net controls (no web forms). The way we do is: 1 Read HTML file from disk 2 lookup database, parse tags and populate data finally, Response.Write(page.ToString()); here there is no possibility of using asp.net controls. What I am wondering is, if we use asp.net controls in those HTML files, is there way to process them during step 2? Thanks and appreciate your response.
