  • Git on DreamHost still balking on big files even after I compiled with NO_MMAP=1

    I compiled Git 1.7.0.3 on DreamHost with the NO_MMAP=1 option, I also supplied that option when I did the "make NO_MMAP=1 install". I have my paths set up correctly, which git reports my ~/bin dir which is correct, git --version returns the correct version. But when I try to do a "git push origin master" with "big" files ~150MB it always fails. Does anyone have an suggestions on how to get DreamHost to accept this "big" files from a git push?

  • Removing duplicate files, keeping only the newest file

    I'm trying to clean up a photo dump folder, in which several files are duplicated but with different filenames or lost in subfolders. I've looked at tools like rmlint, duff and fdupes, but I can't seem to find a way to have them keep only the file with the most recent timestamp. I suspect I have to postprocess the results, but I don't even know where to start to do this. Can anyone guide me on how to get the duplicate files list and delete everything but the newest file?

But there is one thing that bothers me, which is my Mac partition volume is losing space slowly and gradually. I am pretty sure there are a lot of orphaned temporary files laying around in the volume. I know where to find the obsoleted temp files in my Windows partition, how about in Mac OSX?

  • why am I seeing "ghost" folder contents on Vista?

    Today, after I clicked "folder X" in my external hard drive, instead of seeing the contents of "folder X", I see the contents of my flash drive...which is not connected to my computer. My flash drive's files show for a couple of seconds before I am brought to "folder X" which was the folder I wanted to go to as mentioned in the beginning of this post. Any idea why this happened? I'm using Vista 32-bit business edition.

    I'm creating a batch script for a class and I've hit a roadblock I have to list all text files whose names are up to seven characters long on the whole c: drive - make the listing output in a wide formant - then append to Batch script file output.txt So far I have -- dir c:*txt/w/o/s/p c:/"My Batch Script File Assigment"/"Output"/"Batch Script File Output Data".txt The above does everything except limit the search to files with only 1-7 characters in their name. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it!

  • Can IIS7 execute php files?

    I have IIS7 on my computer. It can display html files. But if I put a PHP program in the corresponding folder and then try to open it with the Chrome browser I do not see the expected page. Instead Chrome "downloads" this file. Is it beacuse IIS7 cannot display the PHP files?

Socket is still /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock (only changing datadir in my.cnf) Now, all data in /var/lib/mysql has been copied to /home/lib/mysql MySQL has been started and everything is fine.     Running apache on rhel server and sometimes I need to delete some files that I can not using my FTP program, because the FTP account I am logged into is not the apache user. I am on a Mac and there must be a way to accomplish this via terminal by either SSH'ing into the server.   • MySQL Master-Master replication generating thousands of log files

    Today, I checked the /var/lib/mysql/ directory of a server in a master-master replication setup and noticed there were about 3,600 slave-relay.00xxxx files in there (where "xxxx" is an incrementing integer). They appear to be binary log files and don't take up much space (only about 42K), but are they an indication that something is wrong? They range in date from August until today with about 25 per day. The way I see it, I have 2 options: Have the instance hold my web files - Don't need to worry about attaching volume's etc.?     I used psubst drive1: drive2:path /P to create the persistent virtual drive, I found that's greate, but when I delete files in those drives, they didn't appeared in the Recycle Bin, so How can I restore them? ex: I used (p)subst K: C:/1 to create the K: driver, then I delete files in the K:, I think it will be better if they are moved to the C:/Recycle Bin but not delete persistently. you can find more detail about psubst here: http://code.google.com/p/psubst/
