• Ideas for student parallel programming project

  I'm looking to do a parallel programming project in C (probably using pthreads or maybe OpenMP) for a class. It will done by a group of about four students, and should take about 4 weeks. I was thinking it would be interesting to attack some NP-complete problem with a more complex algorithm like a genetic algo with simulated annealing, but I'm not sure if it would be a big enough project. Anyone knew of any cool problems that could benefit from a parallel approach?

• Eclipse classpath does not update changes in Project Properties

  I am using Eclipse 3.4.1 Build M20080911-1700 I have tried to change the classpath directories for jar and the source directory using the Project Properties - Java Build Path - Libraries Tab or Source Tab. When I click OK button and then return to the properties page, my changes were not applied. I have to resort in the work around by manually changing the eclipse ".classpath" project settings file. Any ideas?

However, I really need the 'Build Steps' tabs, because I also need to add a post-build command. How can I make the 'Build Steps' tab appear in my project?

When I look in the bin folder in visual studio there the references are not shown, but if I go to the references in the property pages for the website they are shown as GAC. Shouldn't dll's in GAC be shown under references for a website project in visual studio?

  I am trying to migrate my existing Maven project to Amazon Beanstalk. Looking at amazon's documentation,i don't see any maven project deployment instructions. I tried to upload the war file generated but the application is not coming up on beanstalk. I would like to know if there is any existing documentation to deploy on beanstalk from maven.
