  • Using @Resource to load environment entries

    - by a1ex07
Hi, I'm trying to load bean runtime configuration. @Stateless public class MyBean implements MyLocal{ @Resource String runtimeSetting1="default_value"; //.... } I cannot find out how to create custom resource on app server side (Glassfish) - I have no idea what I should enter in "Factory Class" field. Maybe there is a better way of loading configuration... Thanks.

  • Returning superclass of return type from remote EJB method

    - by fish
Let's say I have remote interface A: @Remote public interface A { public Response doSomething(); } And implementation: @Stateless public class B implements A { public BeeResponse doSomething() {...} } Where: BeeResponse extends Response. Response is located in the EJB-API jar and BeeResponse is in the implementation jar. Response and BeeResponse have different serialVersionUID. My assumption is that the unmarshalling of the response from B will fail, am I correct?

  • What are the advantages/disadvantages of Seam over Spring?

    - by Josh
What are the advantages/disadvantages of Seam over Spring? Why would I use Seam in lieu of Spring? Is there anything that can be done in Seam that can't be done in Spring? Anything in Spring that can't be done in Seam? What about stateful/stateless architecture? I am a Spring user, so I am biased, naturally.

  • this implementation does not contain a WSDL definition and is not a SOAP 1.1

    - by user1635118
I am trying to deploy a simple SOAP 1.2 web service to WebSphere v8. My service is @Stateless @WebService(serviceName = "MemberServices", portName = "MemberPort", endpointInterface = "gov.virginia.vita.edmsvc.ws.MemberWS") @BindingType(value=SOAPBinding.SOAP12HTTP_BINDING) @TransactionAttribute(TransactionAttributeType.REQUIRED) public class MemberBean implements MemberWS, MemberBeanLocal { .... } However the server is throwing the following error: "This implementation does not contain a WSDL definition and is not a SOAP 1.1 based binding. Per the JAXWS specification, a WSDL definition cannot be generated for this implementation.error" this same service deploy successfully on Glashfish and JBoss, any ideas ?

I'm in my first time using EJB and JSF, and I can't resolve this: 20:23:12,457 Grave [javax.enterprise.resource.webcontainer.jsf.application] (http-localhost-127.0.0.1-8081-2) com.ericsantanna.jobFC.dao.DAOFactoryRemote from [Module "com.sun.jsf-impl:main" from local module loader @439db2b2 (roots: C:\jboss-as-7.1.1.Final\modules)]: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.ericsantanna.jobFC.dao.DAOFactoryRemote from [Module "com.sun.jsf-impl:main" from local module loader @439db2b2 (roots: C:\jboss-as-7.1.1.Final\modules)] I'm getting this when I do an action like a selectOneMenu or a commandButton click. • Fed Authentication Methods in OIF / IdP

    - by Damien Carru
This article is a continuation of my previous entry where I explained how OIF/IdP leverages OAM to authenticate users at runtime: OIF/IdP internally forwards the user to OAM and indicates which Authentication Scheme should be used to challenge the user if needed OAM determine if the user should be challenged (user already authenticated, session timed out or not, session authentication level equal or higher than the level of the authentication scheme specified by OIF/IdP…) After identifying the user, OAM internally forwards the user back to OIF/IdP OIF/IdP can resume its operation In this article, I will discuss how OIF/IdP can be configured to map Federation Authentication Methods to OAM Authentication Schemes: When processing an Authn Request, where the SP requests a specific Federation Authentication Method with which the user should be challenged When sending an Assertion, where OIF/IdP sets the Federation Authentication Method in the Assertion Enjoy the reading! Overview The various Federation protocols support mechanisms allowing the partners to exchange information on: How the user should be challenged, when the SP/RP makes a request How the user was challenged, when the IdP/OP issues an SSO response When a remote SP partner redirects the user to OIF/IdP for Federation SSO, the message might contain data requesting how the user should be challenged by the IdP: this is treated as the Requested Federation Authentication Method. OIF/IdP will need to map that Requested Federation Authentication Method to a local Authentication Scheme, and then invoke OAM for user authentication/challenge with the mapped Authentication Scheme. OAM would authenticate the user if necessary with the scheme specified by OIF/IdP. Similarly, when an IdP issues an SSO response, most of the time it will need to include an identifier representing how the user was challenged: this is treated as the Federation Authentication Method. When OIF/IdP issues an Assertion, it will evaluate the Authentication Scheme with which OAM identified the user: If the Authentication Scheme can be mapped to a Federation Authentication Method, then OIF/IdP will use the result of that mapping in the outgoing SSO response: AuthenticationStatement in the SAML Assertion OpenID Response, if PAPE is enabled If the Authentication Scheme cannot be mapped, then OIF/IdP will set the Federation Authentication Method as the Authentication Scheme name in the outgoing SSO response: AuthenticationStatement in the SAML Assertion OpenID Response, if PAPE is enabled Mappings In OIF/IdP, the mapping between Federation Authentication Methods and Authentication Schemes has the following rules: One Federation Authentication Method can be mapped to several Authentication Schemes In a Federation Authentication Method <-> Authentication Schemes mapping, a single Authentication Scheme is marked as the default scheme that will be used to authenticate a user, if the SP/RP partner requests the user to be authenticated via a specific Federation Authentication Method An Authentication Scheme can be mapped to a single Federation Authentication Method Let’s examine the following example and the various use cases, based on the SAML 2.0 protocol: Mappings defined as: urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:PasswordProtectedTransport mapped to LDAPScheme, marked as the default scheme used for authentication BasicScheme urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:X509 mapped to X509Scheme, marked as the default scheme used for authentication Use cases: SP sends an AuthnRequest specifying urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:X509 as the RequestedAuthnContext: OIF/IdP will authenticate the use with X509Scheme since it is the default scheme mapped for that method. SP sends an AuthnRequest specifying urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:PasswordProtectedTransport as the RequestedAuthnContext: OIF/IdP will authenticate the use with LDAPScheme since it is the default scheme mapped for that method, not the BasicScheme SP did not request any specific methods, and user was authenticated with BasisScheme: OIF/IdP will issue an Assertion with urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:PasswordProtectedTransport as the FederationAuthenticationMethod SP did not request any specific methods, and user was authenticated with LDAPScheme: OIF/IdP will issue an Assertion with urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:PasswordProtectedTransport as the FederationAuthenticationMethod SP did not request any specific methods, and user was authenticated with BasisSessionlessScheme: OIF/IdP will issue an Assertion with BasisSessionlessScheme as the FederationAuthenticationMethod, since that scheme could not be mapped to any Federation Authentication Method (in this case, the administrator would need to correct that and create a mapping) Configuration Mapping Federation Authentication Methods to OAM Authentication Schemes is protocol dependent, since the methods are defined in the various protocols (SAML 2.0, SAML 1.1, OpenID 2.0). As such, the WLST commands to set those mappings will involve: Either the SP Partner Profile and affect all Partners referencing that profile, which do not override the Federation Authentication Method to OAM Authentication Scheme mappings Or the SP Partner entry, which will only affect the SP Partner It is important to note that if an SP Partner is configured to define one or more Federation Authentication Method to OAM Authentication Scheme mappings, then all the mappings defined in the SP Partner Profile will be ignored. Authentication Schemes As discussed in the previous article, during Federation SSO, OIF/IdP will internally forward the user to OAM for authentication/verification and specify which Authentication Scheme to use. OAM will determine if a user needs to be challenged: If the user is not authenticated yet If the user is authenticated but the session timed out If the user is authenticated, but the authentication scheme level of the original authentication is lower than the level of the authentication scheme requested by OIF/IdP So even though an SP requests a specific Federation Authentication Method to be used to challenge the user, if that method is mapped to an Authentication Scheme and that at runtime OAM deems that the user does not need to be challenged with that scheme (because the user is already authenticated, session did not time out, and the session authn level is equal or higher than the one for the specified Authentication Scheme), the flow won’t result in a challenge operation. Protocols SAML 2.0 The SAML 2.0 specifications define the following Federation Authentication Methods for SAML 2.0 flows: urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:unspecified urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:InternetProtocol urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:Telephony urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:MobileOneFactorUnregistered • Using Rich Text Editor (WYSIWYG) in ASP.NET MVC

    - by imran_ku07
Introduction:          In ASP.NET MVC forum I found some question regarding a sample HTML Rich Text Box Editor(also known as wysiwyg). So i decided to create a sample ASP.NET MVC web application which will use a Rich Text Box Editor. There are are lot of Html Editors are available, but for creating a sample application, i decided to use cross-browser WYSIWYG editor from openwebware. In this article I will discuss what changes needed to work this editor with ASP.NET MVC. Also I had attached the sample application for download at http://www.speedfile.org/155076. Also note that I will only show the important features, not discuss every feature in detail.   Description:          So Let's start create a sample ASP.NET MVC application. You need to add the following script files,         jquery-1.3.2.min.js        jquery_form.js        wysiwyg.js        wysiwyg-settings.js        wysiwyg-popup.js          Just put these files inside Scripts folder. Also put wysiwyg.css in your Content Folder and add the following folders in your project        addons        popups          Also create a empty folder Uploads to store the uploaded images. Next open wysiwyg.js and set your configuration                  // Images Directory        this.ImagesDir = "/addons/imagelibrary/images/";                // Popups Directory        this.PopupsDir = "/popups/";                // CSS Directory File        this.CSSFile = "/Content/wysiwyg.css";              Next create a simple View TextEditor.aspx inside View / Home Folder and add the folllowing HTML.        <%@ Page Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage" %>            <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">        <html >            <head runat="server">                <title>TextEditor</title>                <script src="../../Scripts/wysiwyg.js" type="text/javascript"></script>                <script src="../../Scripts/wysiwyg-settings.js" type="text/javascript"></script>                <script type="text/javascript">                            WYSIWYG.attach('text', full);                            </script>            </head>            <body>                <% using (Html.BeginForm()){ %>                    <textarea id="text" name="test2" style="width:850px;height:200px;">                    </textarea>                    <input type="submit" value="submit" />                <%} %>            </body>        </html>                  Here i have just added a text area control and a submit button inside a form. Note the id of text area and WYSIWYG.attach function's first parameter is same and next to watch is the HomeController.cs        using System;        using System.Collections.Generic;        using System.Linq;        using System.Web;        using System.Web.Mvc;        using System.IO;        namespace HtmlTextEditor.Controllers        {            [HandleError]            public class HomeController : Controller            {                public ActionResult Index()                {                    ViewData["Message"] = "Welcome to ASP.NET MVC!";                    return View();                }                    public ActionResult About()                {                                return View();                }                        public ActionResult TextEditor()                {                    return View();                }                [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)]                [ValidateInput(false)]                public ActionResult TextEditor(string test2)                {                    Session["html"] = test2;                            return RedirectToAction("Index");                }                        public ActionResult UploadImage()                {                    if (Request.Files[0].FileName != "")                    {                        Request.Files[0].SaveAs(Server.MapPath("~/Uploads/" + Path.GetFileName(Request.Files[0].FileName)));                        return Content(Url.Content("~/Uploads/" + Path.GetFileName(Request.Files[0].FileName)));                    }                    return Content("a");                }            }        }          So simple code, just save the posted Html into Session. Here the parameter of TextArea action is test2 which is same as textarea control name of TextArea.aspx View. Also note ValidateInputAttribute is false, so it's up to you to defends against XSS. Also there is an Action method which simply saves the file inside Upload Folder.          I am uploading the file using Jquery Form Plugin. Here is the code which is found in insert_image.html inside addons folder,        function ChangeImage() {            var myform=document.getElementById("formUpload");                    $(myform).ajaxSubmit({success: function(responseText){                insertImage(responseText);                        window.close();                }            });        }          and here is the Index View which simply renders the html of Editor which was saved in Session        <%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage" %>        <asp:Content ID="indexTitle" ContentPlaceHolderID="TitleContent" runat="server">            Home Page        </asp:Content>        <asp:Content ID="indexContent" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server">            <h2><%= Html.Encode(ViewData["Message"]) %></h2>            <p>                To learn more about ASP.NET MVC visit <a href="http://asp.net/mvc" title="ASP.NET MVC Website">http://asp.net/mvc</a>.            </p>            <%if (Session["html"] != null){                  Response.Write(Session["html"].ToString());            } %>                    </asp:Content>   Summary:          Hopefully you will enjoy this article. Just download the code and see the effect. From security point, you must handle the XSS attack your self. I had uploaded the sample application in http://www.speedfile.org/155076

  • JDK bug migration: components and subcomponents

    - by darcy
One subtask of the JDK migration from the legacy bug tracking system to JIRA was reclassifying bugs from a three-level taxonomy in the legacy system, (product, category, subcategory), to a fundamentally two-level scheme in our customized JIRA instance, (component, subcomponent). In the JDK JIRA system, there is technically a third project-level classification, but by design a large majority of JDK-related bugs were migrated into a single "JDK" project. In the end, over 450 legacy subcategories were simplified into about 120 subcomponents in JIRA. The 120 subcomponents are distributed among 17 components. A rule of thumb used was that a subcategory had to have at least 50 bugs in it for it to be retained. Below is a listing the component / subcomponent classification of the JDK JIRA project along with some notes and guidance on which OpenJDK email addresses cover different areas. Eventually, a separate incidents project to host new issues filed at bugs.sun.com will use a slightly simplified version of this scheme. The preponderance of bugs and subcomponents for the JDK are in library-related areas, with components named foo-libs and subcomponents primarily named after packages. While there was an overall condensation of subcomponents in the migration, in some cases long-standing informal divisions in core libraries based on naming conventions in the description were promoted to formal subcomponents. For example, hundreds of bugs in the java.util subcomponent whose descriptions started with "(coll)" were moved into java.util:collections. Likewise, java.lang bugs starting with "(reflect)" and "(proxy)" were moved into java.lang:reflect. client-libs (Predominantly discussed on 2d-dev and awt-dev and swing-dev.) 2d demo java.awt java.awt:i18n java.beans (See beans-dev.) javax.accessibility javax.imageio javax.sound (See sound-dev.) javax.swing core-libs (See core-libs-dev.) java.io java.io:serialization java.lang java.lang.invoke java.lang:class_loading java.lang:reflect java.math java.net java.nio (Discussed on nio-dev.) java.nio.charsets java.rmi java.sql java.sql:bridge java.text java.util java.util.concurrent java.util.jar java.util.logging java.util.regex java.util:collections java.util:i18n javax.annotation.processing javax.lang.model javax.naming (JNDI) javax.script javax.script:javascript javax.sql org.openjdk.jigsaw (See jigsaw-dev.) security-libs (See security-dev.) java.security javax.crypto (JCE: includes SunJCE/MSCAPI/UCRYPTO/ECC) javax.crypto:pkcs11 (JCE: PKCS11 only) javax.net.ssl (JSSE, includes javax.security.cert) javax.security javax.smartcardio javax.xml.crypto org.ietf.jgss org.ietf.jgss:krb5 other-libs corba corba:idl corba:orb corba:rmi-iiop javadb other (When no other subcomponent is more appropriate; use judiciously.) Since these areas generally have dedicated teams working on them, it is easier to find bugs of interest if these bugs are grouped first by their cross-cutting component rather than by the affected technology. docs doclet guides hotspot release_notes tools tutorial embedded build hotspot libraries globalization locale-data translation performance hotspot libraries The list of subcomponents will no doubt grow over time, but my inclination is to resist that growth since the addition of each subcomponent makes the system as a whole more complicated and harder to use. When the system gets closer to being externalized, I plan to post more blog entries describing recommended use of various custom fields in the JDK project.

  • How to import ejb project classes into web project on eclipse?

    - by Jhonnytunes
I have 3 projects on eclipse, maven ejb project, maven wicket webapp project and a enterprise application project that includes ejb and web I mentioned before, as modules. But my question is, How from my web project can I use classes on the ejb project. Lets say ClassA is on the ejb project and I want to say from web project: ClassA cl = new ClassA. I wont be allowed since web project doesnt have ClassA but ejb project. I want to use ejb project as a Business Logic, JPA part. Also I want to include here some not beans classes that I want to use from the web. Dont know if its possible. The web project goes without Business logic, just the wicket pages calling ejb, and using ther classes. Im new in the EE world. Never made an ear file including a war and ejb jar for deploying it on Glassfish. Thanks in advanced.

  • EclipseLink Moxy Provider for JAX-RS and JAX-WS

    - by arungupta
EclipseLink MOXy is a JAXB provider bundled in GlassFish 3.1.2. In addition to JAXB RI, it provides XPath Based Mapping, better support for JPA entities, native JSON binding and many other features. Learn more about MOXy and JAXB examples on their wiki. Blaise blogged about how MOXy can be leveraged to create a JAX-WS service. You just need to provide data-binding attribute in sun-jaxws.xml and then all the XPath-based mapping can be specified on JAXB beans. MOXy can also be used as JAX-RS JSON provider on server-side and client-side. How are you using MOXy in your applications ?

  • Difference between spring setter and interface injection?

    - by Satish Pandey
I know how constructor and setter injection works in spring. Normally I use interfaces instead of classes to inject beans using setter and I consider it as interface injection, but in case of constructor we also use interfaces (I am confused). In following example I use JobProcessor interface instead of JobProcessorImpl class. public class JobScheduler { // JobProcessor interface private JobProcessor jobProcessor; // Dependecy injection public void setJobProcessor(JobProcessor jobProcessor){ this.jobProcessor = jobProcessor; } } I tried to find a solution by googling but there are different opinions by writers. Even some people says that spring doesn't support interface injection in their blogs/statements. Can someone help me by example?

  • Transactional Interceptors in Java EE 7 - Request for feedback

    - by arungupta
Linda described how EJB's container-managed transactions can be applied to the Java EE 7 platform as a whole using a solution based on CDI interceptors. This can then be used by other Java EE components as well, such as Managed Beans. The plan is to add an annotation and standardized values in the javax.transaction package. For example: @Inherited @InterceptorBinding @Target({TYPE, METHOD}) @Retention(RUNTIME) public @interface Transactional { TxType value() default TxType.REQUIRED } And then this can be specified on a class or a method of a class as: public class ShoppingCart { ... @Transactional public void checkOut() {...} ... } This interceptor will be defined as part of the update to Java Transactions API spec at jta-spec.java.net. The Java EE 7 Expert Group needs your help and looking for feedback on the exact semantics. The complete discussion can be read here. Please post your feedback to [email protected] and we'll also consider comments posted to this entry.

  • JavaFX - the right way to use Properties with domain objects

    - by pjm56
JavaFX has provided a bunch of new Property objects, such as javafx.beans.property.DoubleProperty which allow you to define fields which can be automatically observed and synchronised. In many JFX examples, the MVC model class has a number of these Property fields, which can then bind automatically to the view. However, this seems to be encouraging us to put JFX properties into our Domain objects (if you assume that the Model class is going to be a domain object), which strikes me as a poor separation of concerns (i.e. putting GUI code in the Domain). Has anyone seen this problem being solved in 'real life' and, if so, how was it done?

  • SUN Java and GPL V2 licence issue for linked applications

    - by user255607
I have recently noticed that the Sun Java code has been released as GPL V2 code (see Google code repo). Does that mean that all applications written in Java and linked to Sun APIs (beans, and so on) are also in GPL ? If we strictly follow the GPL then this should be the case (Libs should be in LGPL, not GPL if we want to build proprietary software on top of it). Is there another commercial licence which can avoid such an issue ? I cannot believe this is the case. There must be an explanation on this. Regards, Apple92

  • Business Layer Design in J2EE Project

    - by user63157
Currently the project on which I am working is being developed with Spring, Hibernate and struts. The business layer consists of simple java beans with no behavior in them only properties and getter and setter methods, the services are written on them which operates on them and call DAO layer methods and all. My questions is that is it object oriented way of designing or simply the procedure way in which the data and the functions on which they operate are not together. Please provide your thoughts and inputs on how the business logic is design and implemented in j2ee application, is the domain model contains business methods or are they simply dumb objects which have only data and services written on to them.
