  • JavaScript method to write to Microsoft Visual Web Developer Debugger?

    I generally test my web apps with Firefox and use Firebug. I love Firebug. But when I'm testing JavaScript code in IE I use the debugger in Microsoft's Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition. I would love to have an equivalent to Firebug's console.log methods which would allow me to log messages to Visual Web Developer. Any way to log messages to the error list/messages list/output pane using JavaScript?

  • Exchange 2010 and ESE Backup API

    Exchange 2010 does not support the ESE API for doing backups like it did in 2003 and 2007 according to MSDN. I Quote: "Exchange 2010 no longer supports the ESE streaming APIs for backup and restore of program files or data. Instead, Exchange 2010 supports only VSS-based backups." So my question is, if this is the case, why is the DLL (ESEBCLI2.DLL) still shipped with exchange 2010? I found it under C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Bin. Am I missing something here?

    autoexp.dat does not seem to take affect in Visual Studio C++ 2005 debugger. I am not trying to add any custom rules. Just want commonly used stuff like stl::string, to display in a friendlier manner. Does anyone know. how I can accomplish this? Is this just question of specifying a path to the autoexp.dat file somewhere. The file is available under the Visual Studio installation directory.

    We are currently selecting a source control and issue tracking software, and are looking towards Team Foundation Server 2010. Some participants of our project often have slow Internet connection (for example during travel), and therefore it is important for us to have a source control system that does not consume too much traffic. I was unable to find information on traffic consumption when using TFS 2010. Does anyone has such info? Does TFS 2010 support traffic compression? Do other source control systems (like SVN, for example) produce less or more traffic than TFS 2010?

  • How to make selection color be "on top" when background color for any text element is set in Visual

    Faced problem while setting background color for any element in Visual Studio 2010 editor. Selection color doesn't override this background color. So then it's very inconvenient to work with selections in editor. Case when only string literal is selected it's almost impossible to distinguish colors and see what part of string is selected. Is there any possibility to fix the problem by changing some options? Or it's a Visual Studio bug?

    I have a ASP.NET solution in Visual Studio 2008 and I added a file identical to http://plugins.jquery.com/files/jquery.cookie.js.txt named jquery.cookie.js in a subfolder of my project containing other javascript files and Visual Studio is treating it as a C# file, giving me errors like CS1012: Too many characters in character literal and Semicolon after method or accesssor block is not valid. Why?

So this B/S project will have a very customizble UI, and the client is highly likely to modify the UI at any time.     Exchange 2013 has been signed off and is now RTM! Hoozaaa!!   From the Exchange team blog: Today we reached an important milestone in the development of the new Exchange. Moments ago, the Exchange engineering team signed off on the Release to Manufacturing (RTM) build. This milestone means the coding and testing phase of the project is complete and we are now focused on releasing the new Exchange via multiple distribution channels to our business customers. General availability is planned for the first quarter of 2013. We have a number of programs that provide business customers with early access so they can begin testing, piloting and adopting Exchange within their organizations: We will begin rolling out new capabilities to Office 365 Enterprise customers in our next service updates, starting in November through general availability. Volume Licensing customers with Software Assurance will be able to download Exchange Server 2013 through the Volume Licensing Service Center by mid-November.   • How to change Ubuntu Studio from XFCE to Gnome?

    I have 12.04 Ubuntu Studio Installed at the moment. On removing a application called Terminal Emulator, I accidentally removed xfce too. As I am not very fond of xfce, I am OK with it as I can change the session to gnome 3 upon login. But session runs with occasional glitches. My question is how to remove xfce completely and turn it into pure gnome system. I am aware of the way to do apt-get install ubuntu-desktop But, this is going to change the ubuntu studio, I dont want that. I just want to change my ubuntu studio to pure gnome without uninstalling ubuntu-desktop. i.e. Something like ubuntustudio-12.04-gnome build. I've looked at this Q&A: How to remove xubuntu? The accepted answer removes some vital software from Ubuntu Studio such as Gimp, including ubuntustudio-desktop at the end.

On the Codeplex site you can find the newest Hekaton samples - https://msftdbprodsamples.codeplex.com/releases/view/114491. The latest samples we have were related to the CTP2 version but the newest will work with the RTM version.There are some issues fixed you might find if you tried to run the previous samples on the RTM version:Update (Apr 28, 2014): Fixed an issue where the isolation level for sample stored procedures demonstrating integrity checks was too low. The transaction isolation level for the following stored procedures was updated: Sales.uspInsertSpecialOfferProductinmem, Sales.uspDeleteSpecialOfferinmem, Production.uspInsertProductinmem, and Production.uspDeleteProductinmem.

    I just recently installed VS2010 Beta 1 from the Microsoft website , I started a basic C++ Win32 Console Application , that generated the following code: #include "stdafx.h" int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { return 0; } I tried compiling the code just to see how it runs and just then I encountered several(over a 100) compiling errors.   • Sharepoint 2010, 404 error after installation

    Running Windows Server 2008 Standard R2, SQL Server 2008 Enterprise, Team Foundation Server 2010, I installed Sharepoint Server 2010 (single server). It installed correctly, and the wizard configured it without errors. When accessing the sharepoint server through http://localhost/ I get a 404 error. I also get a 404 when trying to access the admin interface on port 42620. Sharepoint, TFS and Reporting services are the only application on my IIS. NOT sharing the same port, so that can't be the error. Do you have any ideas what the problem can be? Is there some way that I can debug this?
