  • How to change order in ordered+persisted collection?

    I just need to change order of items in a (previously persisted) ordered collection... I tried simply passing the re-arranged collection to a setter: after committing a transaction the collection is gone. Then I tried to clear() the existing collection and addAll() afterwards: clear() makes persistent manager to mark all the elements as deleted. (But obviously I would like to be able to work with the collection items in the very transaction.) (The collection is not in a default fetch group, so I tried the above also with the named fetch group added into the fetch plan. No luck.) This must be the most stupid question, but I ran out of ideas and I'm stuck here two days already. I swear I googled. :(

  • Google Spreadsheet API problem: memory exceeded

    Hi guys, Don't know if anyone has experience with the Google Spreadsheets API or the Zend_GData classes but it's worth a go: When I try to insert a value in a 750 row spreadsheet, it takes ages and then throws an error that my memory limit (which is 128 MB!) was exceeded. I also got this when querying all records of this spreadsheet but this I can imaging because it's quite a lot of data. But why does this happen when inserting a row? That's not too complex, is it?   • Dot Net Nuke app_offline randomly being generated

    We have had multiple DNN sites running for quite a few months now without any issues. Twice in the last 3 days our sites have gone offline by the addition of the app_offline.htm file in the root dir. There is only one developer with access to the sites at a coding / directory viewing level and the file is generated at weird times times when he is NOT accessing our network. We are not publishing anything to the server ( and have not published any .net code in days ), upgrading, changing code, or even modifying content. Has anyone run into this issue?

  • Flex / ZendAMF / PHP app, corrupted data with some linux clients problem

    Hello, i'm buiding a survey web application, using Flex for the front-end (nice forms), and a MySQL database for the storage, linked by PHP with the help of ZendAMF. I largely borrowed from this nice tutorial by Alan Gruskoff : http://digitalshowcase.biz/wordpress/?page_id=26 (The only one tutorial i've found to work with the last version of Flex). The app seems to works nicely in my tests, except on certain linux boxes : the data is somehow corrupted : there is no error message, no glitch, but the response of the forms are not what the user selected. I tried to reproduce the error on a fresh installed ubuntu VM, but it works fine. I've asked friends for some tests, and several linux users showed the same problem, on ubuntu and suse machines, all freshly updated and functionnal. The application was targeted to be the survey tool for my doctoral thesis, so i'm quite desperate here, and before i'm dumping it to start anew with php only, i'm asking here in case someone can help, thanks :-) Please excuse my english, by the way.     Hi, I am very much curious about Nike + iPod app look and feel. They have selected uitabbar buttons red in color The tableviewcell selection style as red in color. The disclosure indicator is also red in color. The solution in my mind for two of these is: I can use a red colored arrow image to use it as accessory view. I can flip between a red colored and white colored view with animation for having the selection style But I am clueless of how the tabbar thing is to be done. I am very curious to know the tricks behind this, I also accept that I may be wrong with my other two solutions. So please suggest the solution for any of the problems.     Hi everybody, I need to set up a simple event listener to refresh a listview from once in a while. The problem is I don't know how could I generate an event. I know that for events like key or button pressing I just need to implement the handler. But in this specific case I actually need to generate the event, which will be fired everytime another running thread of my app wakes up and refreshes it's list of news from a rss feed.   • Prevent an Activity from being killed by the OS while starting a child activity

    I have a main activity which calls a child one via Intent I = new Intent(this, Child.class); startActivityForResult(I, 0); But as soon as Child becomes visible the main activity gets its onStop and immediately after that onDestroy method triggered. And as soon as I call finish() within the Child activity or press the back button, the Child activity closes and the home screen shows (instead of the main activity). How can I prevent the main activity from being destroyed? :\

  • why am I stuck on "Initiating update" when deploying to google

    I've have not had any trouble deploying through eclipse until now. I'm guessing it might have to do with all the stuff I've added today a folder of .pdf and .tex files (in war/web-inf directory) a bit of JDO stuff and a servlet that reads the files in the directory and indexes them into the JDO Is there any way to find out what exactly is the problem?     Hi, while trying to use the "InfoStrat"-Bing-Maps-Control in Expression Blend 4 for my Surface Application, I get the error message: "Mixed mode assembly is built against version v2.0.50527 of the runtime and cannot be loaded in the 4.0 runtime without additional configuration information" I already found out that I need to write this configfile: <configuration> <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true"> <supportedRuntime version="v4.0"/> </startup> </configuration> But Expression Blend doesn't seem to recognize that it is there. So how can I solve this problem?

    Is there a datastore performance difference between adding dynamic properties of the expando class when they are needed for an entity or the simpler (for me) framework of just setting up all possible properties I might need from the start even though most instances will just be left empty. In my specific case I would be having 5-8 empty ReferenceList properties as 'overhead' that will be empty when I skip using expando class.

    Is that possible to define a function without referencing to self this way? def myfunc(var_a,var_b) But so that it could also get sender data, like if I defined it like this: def myfunc(self, var_a,var_b) That self is always the same so it looks a little redundant here always to run a function this way: myfunc(self,'data_a','data_b'). Then I would like to get its data in the function like this sender.fields. UPDATE: Here is some code to understand better what I mean.     I'm implementing an app widget and I'd like to be able to change the property of a single view in the widget layout, without rebuilding all the RemoteViews from scratch, which involves loading XML etc and which is not necessary in some circumstances.. Is there a way to say "update property X on view identified by a specific ID in the current widget layout"? I've seen that there is a partiallyUpdateAppWidget method in the AppWidgetManager class but I can't understand nor if it is meant for this purpose neither how it must be used.. Can you help me or point me to a useful link or example?

  • Loading textures in an Android OpenGL ES App.

    I was wondering if anyone could advise on a good pattern for loading textures in an Android Java & OpenGL ES app. My first concern is determining how many texture names to allocate and how I can efficiently go about doing this prior to rendering my vertices. My second concern is in loading the textures, I have to infer the texture to be loaded based on my game data. This means I'll be playing around with strings, which I understand is something I really shouldn't be doing in my GL thread. Overall I understand what's happening when loading textures, I just want to get the best lifecycle out of it. Are there any other things I should be considering?

  • Smooth table view like on iPod.app

    Hey folks ;), Im trying to redo the table view in the ipod.app. The one with 2 labels and the cover on the left. I want the same information there. I mean the cover plus all the other MPMediaItem stuff. Everything works fine. I can build the table and get all the information from the music library I need. My only problem is that my table is far away from being smooth. It lacks. When I remove the MPMediaArtworkItem from the table its super fast. So I guess its a problem with that. Is there any way to load the MPMediaProperties more faster? Whats the fastest way? THX in advance :)

    I am looking for some sample Java code demonstrating how to get AJAX content displayed into a custom font using Typeface.js within a GWT app. I have tried a little bit by calling the following native function native void Typeface_renderDocument() /*-{ $wnd._typeface_js.renderDocument(); }-*/; after having filled the relevant widget with the AJAX content, and after calling the following function on the widget : void applyTypeface(Widget widget) { widget.addStyleName("typeface-js"); widget.getElement().getStyle().setProperty("fontFamily", "Helvetiker"); Typeface_renderDocument(); } ...where Helvetiker is a custom font (actually available from Typeface.js fonts page (http://typeface.neocracy.org/fonts.html). But that didn't work. I am looking forward to any suggestions since I am bit stuck here. Alternatively I would be interested in an example using cufón within GWT, although I am not so keen about the replacement by images that cufón does (which is the main reason why I was trying to use Typeface.js.)

  • Adding a new view to a Window-based app (re: MapKit tutorial)

    I'm trying add a new view in a window-based application but not really getting anywhere. I've been going through a great MapKit tutorial lately, http://mithin.in/2009/06/22/using-iphone-sdk-mapkit-framework-a-tutorial/ and have successfully set it up and added some further buttons and customizations. However I've gotten stuck at what I assume ought to be a brain-dead simple step. I have added a toolbar to the bottom of the app, and a 'settings' style button. Following this I created a SettingsViewController complete with it's own view. Now I'd like to connect them but I've had absolutely no luck trying to figure out how to do this. I've also gone through several other good tutorials lately, http://miketeo.net/wp/index.php/2008/08/31/simple-iphone-tutorial-part-1.html http://blog.webscale.co.in/?p=228 http://www.iphonesdkarticles.com/2009/01/uitableview-searching-table-view.html but I've gotten lost trying to tie these two bits together.     I started an app that was initially a testing platform--user management, and managers that can view their employees tests. Recently, functionality has been extended (not built yet) to allow users to complete a test in place of an employee--basically adding a record, but no user. I have three tables in use for this: users(contains user info for login/security), profiles (all personal info: address, height, etc.), and survey (contains survey answers for user). How do I extend my application to encompass this functionality with minimal change to the structure? I assume that the best way to do this would be to insert records to the tables profiles and survey, and have no username/password/email? There MUST be a user_id associated b/c the tables are linked through the user_ids...
