• Capturing unhandled exceptions in .Net 2.0. Wrong event called.

  Hello, I'm investigating a bit about how the unhandled exceptions are managed in .Net and I'm getting unexpected results that I would like to share with you to see what do you think about. The first one is pretty simple to see. • Project compilation requires a class that is not used anywhere

  When I build with ant my project that uses libgdx, I get a strange error. It says that a class com.google.gwt.dom.client.ImageElement is not found, but it isn't used at all in the code. How can I find what makes this class necessary? Even searching over the whole project doesn't give any results. It says that error is at PixmapTextureAtlas.java:16 (class source), but there is no code that uses that ImageElement class. Adding the library containing com.google.gwt.dom.client.ImageElement class helps, of course, but I'd like to figure out why this class in needed.   Hi, I use paperclip to add a file to my model. I want to use the new feature of firefox 3.6, xhr.sendAsBinary, to send a file with an ajax request. However that token comes out as an array of bytes. It's hard to use it later to send it to the server... anyone knows how to convert an array of bytes to pchar or string?

• Start or ensure that Delayed Job runs when an application/server restarts.

  Hi there, We have to use delayed_job (or some other background-job processor) to run jobs in the background, but we're not allowed to change the boot scripts/boot-levels on the server. This means that the daemon is not guaranteed to remain available if the provider restarts the server (since the daemon would have been started by a capistrano recipe that is only run once per deployment). Currently, the best way I can think of to ensure the delayed_job daemon is always running, is to add an initializer to our Rails application that checks if the daemon is running. If it's not running, then the initializer starts the daemon, otherwise, it just leaves it be. The question, therefore, is how do we detect that the Delayed_Job daemon is running from inside a script? (We should be able to start up a daemon fairly easily, bit I don't know how to detect if one is already active). Anyone have any ideas? I've saved the project spec as XML and the viewer I'm using needs the parent task Id for each task. Where can i find that in the rather huge amount of XML data created by ms project?

  Hello, we are looking for a bug tracking software that is suitable for us developers and for our (non technical) end users. We our currently using FogBugz which is very amazing, except for it sucks for the end user support. It could be possible to write a portal/add in for it to do what we want, but it'd still be rather hackish to make FogBugz do something it wasn't designed for. What bug tracking systems out there would you guys recommend? We are looking for something relatively cheap(or free). We are a very small startup (less than 5 people) dealing with 50 or so end users. Any ideas? Also, we do not need extra features like wikis or discussion groups or anything like that. Basically just a way for our end users to submit bugs and support requests, and a way for the developers to keep track of bugs and features.

  We have a large WinForms app, and there is a built-in bug reporting system that can be activated during testing via the F5 Key. I am capturing the F5 key with .Net's PreFilterMessage system. This works fine on the main forms, modal dialog boxes, etc. Unfortunately, the program also displays windows messageboxes when it needs to. When there is a bug with that, e.g., wrong text in the messagebox or it shouldn't be there, the messagefilter isn't executed at all when the messagebox is up! I realize I could fix it by either rewriting my own messagebox routine, or kicking off a separate thread that polls GetAsyncKeyState and calls the error reporter from there. However I was hoping for a method that was less of a hack. • Authlogic with nested attributes and polymorphic associations

  Hi all! I'm having trouble with the following code: User < AR acts_as_authentic belongs_to :owner, :polymorphic => true end Worker < AR has_one :user, :as => :owner accepts_nested_attributes_for :user end Employer < AR has_one :user, :as => :owner accepts_nested_attributes_for :user end I'd like to create registration forms based on user types, and to include authentication fields such as username and password. I currently do this: UserRegistrationController < AC #i.e. a new Employer def new @employer = Employer.new @employer.build_user end ... end I then include User fields with fields_for. All views render fine, but here's the catch: I cannot build a User, it tells me :password is a wrong method, so I guess the authentication logic was bypassed. What should I do? Am I doing it wrong altogether? Should I drop polymorphic associations in favor of Single Table Inheritance? Whatever I do, I have to make sure it plays nicely with Authlogic.
