  I am trying to trigger a click event on an element on a page from within a Firefox sandbox. I have tried using jQuery's .click() as well as doing: var evt = document.createEvent("HTMLEvents"); evt.initEvent("click", true, false ); toClick[0].dispatchEvent(evt); Has anyone been able to trigger a click event on a page in the browser through a sandbox? I can get the DOM element fine, but triggering the event is a different story.

  I'm trying to make a card game. some classes I have are: CardModel, CardView; DeckModel, DeckView. The deck model has a list of card model, According to MVC, if I want to send a card to a deck, I can add the card model to the deck model, and the card view will be added to the deck view by a event handler. So I have a addCard(CardModel m) in the DeckModel class, but if I want to send a event to add the card view of that model to the deck view, I only know let the model has a reference to view. So the question is: If the card model and deck model have to have a reference to their view classes to do it? If not, how to do it better? • Where to register for C# events?

  I am currently transitioning from VB to C# and am having some issues with regards to registering my interest in an event. When using VB it was simply a case of specifying that a method Handles and event, often this was generated by using the object events list. While I can easily use the Class.event += delegate in C# I am unsure where the best place is to place the code to do this. Am I best placing it inside of the InitializeComponent() as per the generated code (say if you select the event in the from designer) or should I place it inside the constructor for better readability/maintenance. If inside the constructor, should it be before or after the call to InitializeComponent()?

If I have a link with an onclick event and lightly tap the link on the iPhone, the link works, but the click event is not fired. If I tap the same link harder, the event fires. Any thoughts on this?

  In Blackberry's Application class what is the difference between hasEventThread() and isHandlingEvents(). I'm just curious, because I have only found hasEventThread useful. From BB's docs for Applicaiton: public boolean hasEventThread() Determines if this application has entered the event dispatcher. Returns: True if this application has entered the event dispatcher (i.e. has invoked Application.enterEventDispatcher()); otherwise, false. isHandlingEvents public final boolean isHandlingEvents() Determines if this application has entered the event dispatch loop. Returns: True if the application has entered the event dispatch loop; otherwise, false. My only guess is that isHandlingEvents most happen sometime after hasEventThread. But is that really that useful?

  When there are two identical events in the event loop, will wxPython handle both of them, or will it call the handler only once for them both? I mean, in my widget I want to have an event like EVT_NEED_TO_RECALCULATE_X. I want this event to be posted in all kinds of different circumstances that require x to be recalculated. However, even if there are two different reasons to recalculate x, only one recalculation needs to be done. How do I do this?

  I am not sure am I doing these correct. I have 3 models, Account, User, and Event. Account contains a group of Users. Each User have its own username and password for login, but they can access the same Account data under the same Account. Events is create by a User, which other Users in the same Account can also read or edit it. I created the following migrations and models. • Java/Swing: JTable.rowAtPoint doesn't work correctly for points outside the table?

What I'm wondering, is why the System.out.println doesn't always print "row -1". When the table is empty it does, but if I drag something onto the table's header row, I get the println with "row 0". This seems like a bug... or am I not understanding how rowAtPoint() works?

I am supposed to receive the result event only in the method given inthe event listener but it's triggering calls to all the methods with ResultEvent as an argument . Has anyone come across this kind of problem? Is there any workaround for it?

• cakephp find('list') - problem using

  I'm trying to get an array to poplulate a Counties select. If I use find('all') I can get the data but this array needs flattening to use in the view with $form-input($counties). If I use find('list') I can't seem to get the right array - which is simple array of county names. What I have tried is this: $ops=array( 'conditions' => array( 'display' => '!=0', 'TO_DAYS(event_finish) >= TO_DAYS(NOW())' ), 'fields' => 'DISTINCT venue_county', 'order' => 'venue_county DESC' ); $this->set('counties', $this->Event->find('list',$ops)); but the SQL this generates is: SELECT Event.id, DISTINCT Event.venue_county FROM events AS Event WHERE display = 1 AND TO_DAYS(event_finish) = TO_DAYS(NOW()) ORDER BY venue_county DESC which generates an error because it first inserts the Event.id field in the query - which is not wanted and causes the error. In my database I have a single table for Events which includes the venue address and I don't really want to create another table for address. What options should I be using efor the find('list') call?

• UI updates not happening in the expected order

  I have a Panel which hosts a number of child controls in a grid layout. The child controls each consist of a Panel with a PictureBox and a Label. When one of these child controls is clicked it becomes "selected" (which basically entails changing its background to a different color) and an event is fired. In the handler for this event, an image is displayed in a PictureBox on a separate form. In code, the background of the child control is definitely changed before firing the event, but for some reason it never updates at runtime until after the image has updated in the other Form. I've tried to Invalidate() and Refresh() the child control before firing the event, without effect. Why is this happening, and what can I do to set it right?

For instance, the global pos is exactly 600,230 but row-column pair is randomly (5,3) and (4,3). I mean, what?! Also, when i click to an item from the last to rows (later than 13, i guess) will never go into condition "if (clickedItem && clickedItem-column()1 && clickedItem-row()0)", i think it's mainly because 'clickedItem' is null. I'll be more than glad to share any more information, or even the full cpp-h-ui trio in order to get help. Thanks a lot.

• What is the purpose of @ as part of a member name in C#?

  As you can imagine, Googling or Binging for any phrase containing an '@' is difficult. In creating a new web service, one of the members of the imported C# proxy class is prefixed with the @. For example: plan.@event = new Insurance.Event(); I assume that it is Visual Studio's way resolving potential conflicts with reserved words because 'event' is a reserved word. Changing the property in the web service interface to something other than 'event' (i.e. 'healthevent') removes the @ from the property. Is this a correct assumption?

• Async run for javascript by using listeners

  I have two functions, the names are Function3, Function4, Function3 will send request to server side to get jsondata by using ajax, which, however, will take about 3 seconds to complete. Function4 is a common function which will wait for Function3's result and then action. • Windows Backup fails with 0x80070002: "The system cannot find the file specified"

  Windows 7 Backup is failing. When backing up even a single insignificant directory (e.g. I chose only the empty "Contacts" directory, leaving all other directories unchecked), I get this error within a few seconds and the backup fails. If I uncheck all files/directories, and just do the system image - then the system image is backed up OK without issue. Backup destination is an external USB hard drive. Steps to reproduce and subsequent failure: Set up backup to go to external hard drive. Don't back up system image. Back up "Contacts" directory only for my profile. Start backup. Immediately view the status of the backup, it stays on "Creating a shadow copy..." for a few seconds, and then the backup fails. Click Options button, and it says "Check your backup / The system cannot find the file specified." - with options to "Try to run backup again" or "Change backup settings". Running SFC /SCANNOW to run system file checker Checked the list of profiles at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList and ensured that each profile directory exists. I'm stumped; WHAT file can't be found and why is my backup failing? This is on a Lenovo T420 laptop.

• Why is IIS Anonymous authentication being used with administrative UNC drive access?

  My account is local administrator on my machine. If I try to browse to a non-existent drive letter on my own box using a UNC path name: \mymachine\x$ my account would get locked out. I would also get the following warning (Event ID 100, Type “Warning”) 5 times under the “System” group in Event Viewer on my box: The server was unable to logon the Windows NT account 'ourdomain\myaccount' due to the following error: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. I would also get the following warning 3 times: The server was unable to logon the Windows NT account 'ourdomain\myaccount' due to the following error: The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to. On the domain controller, Event ID 680 of type “Failure Audit” would appear 4 times under the “Security” group in Event Viewer: Logon attempt by: MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1_0 Logon account: myaccount Followed by Event ID 644: User Account Locked Out: Target Account Name: myaccount Target Account ID: OURDOMAIN\myaccount Caller Machine Name: MYMACHINE Caller User Name: STAN$ Caller Domain: OURDOMAIN Caller Logon ID: (0x0,0x3E7) Followed by another 4 errors having Event ID 680. Strangely, every time I tried to browse to the UNC path I would be prompted for a user name and password, the above errors would be written to the log, and my account would be locked out. When I hit “Cancel” in response to the user name/password prompt, the following message box would display: Windows cannot find \mymachine\x$. Check the spelling and try again, or try searching for the item by clicking the Start button and then clicking Search. I checked with others in the group using XP and they only got the above message box when browsing to a “bad” drive letter on their box. No one else was prompted for a user name/password and then locked out. So, every time I tried to browse to the “bad” drive letter, behind the scenes XP was trying to login 8 times using bad credentials (or, at least a bad password as the login was correct), causing my account to get locked out on the 4th try. Interestingly, If I tried browsing to a “good” drive such as “c$” it would work fine. As a test, I tried logging on to my box as a different login and browsing the “bad” UNC path. Strangely, my “ourdomain\myaccount” account was getting locked out – not the one I was logged in as! I was totally confused as to why the credentials for the other login were being passed. After much Googling, I found a link referring to some IIS settings I was vaguely familiar with from the past but could not see how they would affect this issue. It was related to the IIS directory security setting “Anonymous access and authentication control” located under: Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Services and Applications/Internet Information Services/Web Sites/Default Web Site/Properties/Directory Security/Anonymous access and authentication control/Edit/Password I found no indication while scouring the Internet that this property was related to my UNC problem. But, I did notice that this property was set to my domain user name and password. And, my password did age recently but I had not reset the password accordingly for this property. Sure enough, keying in the new password corrected the problem. I was no longer prompted for a user name/password when browsing the UNC path and the account lock-outs ceased. Now, a couple of questions: Why would an IIS setting affect the browsing of a UNC path on a local box? Why had I not encountered this problem before? My password has aged several times and I’ve never encountered this problem. And, I can’t remember the last time I updated the “Anonymous access” IIS password it’s been so long. I’ve run the script after a password reset before and never had my account locked-out due to the UNC problem (the script accesses UNC paths as a normal part of its processing). Windows Update did install “Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP (KB972260)” on my box on 7/29/2009. I wonder if this is responsible.
