  Hi, I have a task to draw electrostatic field between two electrodes( at given sizes and shape ), what i have now is that i draw the electrodes with area plot (area(elect_x,elect_y)) the graph looks like this: ------------------.--- |.. .---. |.. |...| |.. .----....| |.. |........| |.. ---------------------- and now i would need to draw inside this probably a mesh, showing the field. • C#: Excel 2007 Addin, How to Hook Windows Activate and Deactivate Events

  I am writing an Excel 2007 Addin. using VS2008 and .net 3.5, C#. I catched Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application's WindowActivate and WindowDeActivate events. It was surprised to know that WindowActivate and Deactivate only triggers when i switch between two Excel Windows. if i switch to notepad, i expect Deactivate to be triggered, but its not happening. same way from notepad if i switch to excel window, i expect Activate to be triggered but its not happening. It looks like the behaviour indicates windows are MDI-Child windows. Now what i want to do is get HWnd of Excel's Mainwindow and hook Window Activate and Deactivates using dllimport features. Can anyone guide to me on this. Regards

If i lower my privacy settings in IE, the cookies get restricted, and if i further lower it to allow all, it gets thru, so it is my P3P compact policy the coz, and needs fixing. If someone can guide me in the right direction, or if i can hire someone for an hour or two to look into it. M.

  I just downloaded and ran the boost installer for version 1.42 (from boostpro.com), and set up my project according to the getting started guide.   Hello everyone, I am developing module where-in i pick the image from photo library and put into a Sprite. I want to implement Zoom-in, Zoom-out kind of effect for a Sprite image, same like camera album images zoom in/out effect. Could someone please guide me how do i implement it? I see somewhere is that, i have to detect two touch events in TouchBegan and then Adjust the Sprite Scale size to up or down based on the distance of two fingers touch event values. Could someone please tell me, How do i detect two fingers touch values in TouchBegan? How to allow to touch and Zoom-in/out of Sprite image by user? Please give me samples. • lwjgl applets 101: How can I write them?

  I have a working app in lwjgl. It doesn't do much yet; I've just started, but it does compile and run like it's supposed to. I want to make it into an applet. I've followed the guide here, and I have an applet that runs nicely and displays text and such in the applet area and can access the functions of lwjgl (like Sys.alert), but I can't figure out how to get opengl to actually render. I've tried extending an AWTGLCanvas and calling this.add(myAWTGLCanvas), where this is the Applet that I'm using, but... nothing. The initGL() and paintGL() methods never get called. I wonder if I'm supposed to be doing something with Display, but that's not for applets, right? Help? Also: This counts as a "beginner" question, right?

  I'm considering moving my code (around 30K LOC) from CPython to Jython, so that I could have better integration with my java code. Is there a checklist or a guide I should look at, to help my with the migration? Does anyone have experience with doing something similar?   Hi, I'm trying to create a CD-burning feature for a Java-based music player for my school project. Since I'm new to real-life programming (I've only learned to write codes on AP Computer Science A level), I don't know how I can apply the concepts I learned from APCS A to this task. A friend of mine who is studying computer science at graduate school told me to "look up the cd player control functions and add methods in those classes to read in data that you want to write to the CD, write it to a buffer, write everything in the buffer to the CD itself, clear the buffer and then write a new chunk of data into the buffer," but I can't quite grasp what this means, and tt's really hard to contact her right now because she's busy working on her dissertation. Can someone from this forum please guide me through & explain the general concepts? Thank you!

  I am trying to implement InApp purchase in my application. I have implemented it as per Apple's programming guide and it(code) was working fine until I created new application, appid, provisioning profile and in-app products @ another developer account. Now, it gives me following error. Error Domain=SKErrorDomain Code=3 UserInfo=0x2a5a00 "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" Same code works fine if I use previous developer account's appid, pro-certificate and product ids. This is very strange issue, I double checked product id names and other things still facing same error. Any clue..?

You've successfully authenticated, but GitHub does not provide shell access. Connection to github.com closed But when I go to clone my repo it fails saying: Permission denied (publickey). fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly I've used Github a lot, but this is my first use of it from an Ubuntu computer, is there something I am missing here?   so googling around it appears that the general consensus is that embedding version numbers in REST URIs is a bad practice and a bad idea. even on SO there are strong proponents supporting this. e.g. Best practices for API versioning? My question is about how to accomplish the proposed solution of using the accept header / content negotiation in the django-rest-framework to accomplish this. It looks like content negotiation in the framework, http://django-rest-framework.org/api-guide/content-negotiation.html is already configured to automatically return intended values based on accepted MIME types. If I start using the Accept header for custom types, I'll lose this benefit of the framework. Is there a better way to accomplish this in the framework?

  I was trying to ssh into my Hostgator shared hosting account following this guide: http://support.hostgator.com/articles/getting-started/how-do-i-get-and-use-ssh-access However, it returns this error: Received disconnect from 96.125.167.124: 2: Too many authentication failures for tridn I tried to search around for a solution, and found this: http://www.ipreferjim.com/2011/07/hostgator-ssh-warns-too-many-authentication-failures/ I tried doing what he suggested, but encountered another error: jailshell: .ssh/authorized_keys: No such file or directory So I ssh into my server using the PubkeyAuthentication=n flag, and create a directory called .ssh and a file called authorized_keys. I then redid what was suggested in the article, which is this: cat ~/.ssh/hostgator.pub | ssh -p 2222 -o PubkeyAuthentication=no [email protected] 'cat >> .ssh/authorized_keys' (note: my ssh key is called hostgator.pub. it's dsa I verified that the authorized_keys now has the content of this key. However, it still get the same error as before: eceived disconnect from 96.125.167.124: 2: Too many authentication failures for tridn Anybody knows how I should proceed next?

• Settings up a Mercurial server on IIS 6

  Hi, I've set up a Mercurial server on a Windows 2003 / IIS 6 machine and when I try to pull the repository I get the following sequence requesting all changes adding changesets adding manifests adding file changes transaction abort! rollback completed abort: premature EOF reading chunk (got 91303 bytes, expected 1542634) I've tried pretty much everything I can think of, but with no success. I followed the steps of Jeremy Skinners guide on doing it for IIS7, but on an IIS6 server. I found a post where the author was experiencing the same issue, but was unable to find a solution. So far it looks like the solution is to migrate to Apache or upgrade to Windows 2008/II7 .. but if someone knows how to solve this, please let me know

• Supporting multiple screen sizes with Android using ImageButtons

  I've read the Android documentation: http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/screens_support.html but still have some questions. I'm trying to design a music application which basically has images of the instrument (ImageButton) that play a sound when clicked. However, I'm confused about how to have the ImageButtons scale to fit all the different screen sizes and how to position them. Which layout is best used for needing to position ImageButtons in specific locations on the screen? (i.e. cymbals on a drum set) FrameLayout, RelativeLayout? If I only really care about medium and large screens, do I need to create different resources (images) for both as well as a different XML layout to position them? I'm trying to find the simplest way to do this without having to create a separate layout XML file for positioning/size and separate image resources for each screen. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've written programs which use OpenSSL API. Moreover, I know how to use pthreads. However, the OpenSSL documents are written in the form of a manual, and I can't see a step-by-step guide on what I have to do when using OpenSSL in a multi-threaded app. Is there a tutorial on using OpenSSL with pthreads? (I searched the web, but no satisfactory result appeared.) PS: I'm working in Debian Lenny & Ubuntu Lucid/Maverick. PS2: OpenSSL includes a sample, but it's far too complicated to start with.

  I'm writing a business-focused iPhone app which includes a self-hosted server component. I'd like to include push notification functionality in the server; reading through the programming guide it looks as if this would involve either: Distributing the provider certificate with the server component - this doesn't sound like a terribly good idea (even if Apple permits it?) Hosting a shared notification provider and forwarding notifications to APNS from the servers. For an ongoing, high-availability service, this is likely to require including a subscription pricing component, which I would prefer to avoid. Require customers to apply for their own provider certificate. However, it's not clear whether multiple organisations are allowed to apply for provider certificates with a single bundle ID, and it would significantly increase the barrier to adoption. APNS looks to me as if it's specifically geared for centrally hosted services. Is anyone distributing self-hosted notification providers? Are there any other options?

  Hi all, I tried sample example given at this link - Collection View Programming Guide It is simple and it worked. Considering it as a reference I tried a simple application which will show a collection view of web views with some web page displayed over each web view. The model class has two properties: NSString *pageName, and NSURL *pageURL. I then followed each and every step written in tutorial above with required modifications but I was caught in the step - How to bind web view to collection view item? In binding tab it shows three possibilities : Editable, Hidden, Tool tip but none of these is working. Can anyone suggest me way to accomplish my requirement? Thanks, Miraaj

• TFS and SVN code Merge

  We are a small team of 8. 3 are from other country and they are using the Source controller as TFS and TFS server is also located there and they have only 4 licence. So we (5 developers) are using SVN source controller as local source controller and for every 3 days we are taking the TFS latest and merging the changes from and to SVN & TFS. Really this is overkilling and hour consuming task. They don't want to change the TFS ( Not event add ins ). So what i can use to merge the code between two source controllers. Is it i can use SVN-Bridge to Merge the code without changing or modifying the TFS Server. Please guide me on this. (Worst case they might go for add ins, for sure no other source controllers than Microsoft Product) hhhmmmmmm, i'm sitting in front of monitor and hitting the F5 on this page, Please save my hours.
