  • Receiving SSL certificate errors only from some clients

    I am receiving SSL certificate errors from Chrome (latest version (23.0.1271.52 beta-m) and Internet Explorer 6 (not used) on my home desktop machine (Windows XP SP2). In Firefox, it works fine on this PC. My laptop and work desktop (both Windows 7) work fine. Most SSL website checking sites report that the certificate and chain up to the root CA are setup correctly, but I have come across 2 that that say I have an invalid certificate but don't give much information on what part is failing. I know it used to work properly on this desktop (in Chrome and IE) in the past, but I'm not sure what has changed that is causing the site to fail in these browsers. Can anyone provide any assistance? This is driving me nuts! Screenshot of error:

    I've read the Red Hat Knowledgebase article "How do I configure kexec/kdump on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5?" at http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/docs/DOC-6039 and http://prefetch.net/blog/index.php/2009/07/06/using-kdump-to-get-core-files-on-fedora-and-centos-hosts/ The crashkernel=128M@16M kernel parameter works fine for me in a RHEL 6.0 beta VM, but not on the RHEL 5.5 hosts I've tried. dmesg shows me: Memory for crash kernel (0x0 to 0x0) notwithin permissible range disabling kdump Here's the line from grub.conf: kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.18-194.3.1.el5 ro root=/dev/md2 console=ttyS0,115200 panic=15 rhgb quiet crashkernel=128M@16M How do I make kdump use a permissible range of memory for the crash kernel?

  • activeX component in axapta

    hi folks, i'm struggling with an .net activeX i try to use in ms axapta 2009. using this component on my local machine where it was compiled, it's working quite fine. it can be added as activeX element on a form, the methods and events are listed in the axapta-activeX-explorer and i can interact with it without any problems. but trying to distribute the dll to other clients isn't working as intended. the registration of the dll via regasm /codebase /tlb works properly - getting the message, registration was successful. the component is also listed when selecting an activeX-element to add in ax, but neither functions nor properties are listed. and launching the form results in an errormessage - activeX component CLSID ... not found on system, not installed. the classID is indeed the one, defined in .net. strange things happen, having a look on the task-manager. the activeX-component itself is just a wrapper to interact with a com-application. when launching the ax-form with the not working and _not_installed_!! activeX-thing, the taskmanager shows a new process of the com-application, which is instanciated by the activeX :/ things i tried: using different versions of regasm, eg \Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 ; C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727 using new GUIDs in .net, prior removing the old ones from the registry compiling, using different versions of the .net framework doing registration via regasm, regasm /codebase, regasm /codebase /tlb, using a visual-studio-setup running registration via command-line as administrator running setup as administrator running even ax as administrator on client-machine moving dll to a different folder followed by new registration ( windows/system32; ax/client/bin ) installing to GAC ( gacutil /i ) different project-options in visual studio ( COM-Visibility; register for COM-Interop; different targetPlatform ) hoped for the fact, that compiling in visual studio with register for COM-Interop option enabled does something more than just the regasm-registration, i used a registry-monitor-microsoft-tool for logging the registry-activity which happend during compilation. using these logs to create all registry-entries on the target-client in addition didn't work either. any hints or help would be so much appreciated! this thing is blocking me for days now :(

    I just downloaded the Java SDK/JDK versions 5 and 6, and I just need the development tools (and some libraries) contained in the installation packages, I don't need to perform an installation and that's why I was only looking for a zip package at first (for Windows there is only an exe installation file), I only need to extract the contents of the installation packages, I think this can be done from the command line but so far I haven't found how to do this (I already considered WinRar and 7-Zip, but I really want to find how to do it without using these tools) Have you done this before and how?

    i'm trying to install the adobe air sdk in linux. i unzip the package downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/products/air/tools/sdk/ into a folder "AdobeAIRSDK", and add the /bin folder into the PATH environment variable. but when i tried to run the adl, it gives me the following error: Error loading the runtime (/home/monuser/AdobeAIRSDK/bin/../runtimes/air/linux/Adobe AIR/Versions/1.0/Resources/nss3/None/libnss3.so: file too short) what's the problem here and how do i get it fixed?

    I have build 64-bit (x64) versions of some assemblies and am trying to obfuscate them with .NET Reactor, which claims to have 64-bit support. However, even if I disable all protection and locking options .NET Reactor is always producing 32-bit assemblies! Does anyone know how to get .NET Reactor to produce 64-bit assemblies?

  • Backup strategy for Windows Server 2008 R2 and Hyper-V

    I am in the process of planning a Hyper-V deployment with SCVMM 2008 R2. I have several VMs on VMWare Player (temporary solution) for stuff like Sharepoint 2007, 2010, and a couple of other server apps. I want to develop a resilient backup plan for this. On the software side, Data Protection Manager 2010 will support all of the server apps I run (sQL Server 2008 R2, Sharepoint, Exchange, etc). But on the hardware side (storage), what is the best way to go? Drobo seems to have issues with Hyper-V juding by a few threads on here and doesn't support DPM 2010 (which is in beta anyway) but not even the 2007 version (see http://www.drobo.com/support/best_practices.php). What storage device would work well? Do I need a home server or just an external usb drive? Capacity wise, 2tb will probably be best so I can have a small archive and implement a round-robin system. Just curious what your naming conventions are for the following: Repository name Branches Tags Right now, we're employing the following standards with SVN, but would like to improve on it: Each project has its own repository Each repository has a set of directories: tags, branches, trunk Tags are immutable copies of the the tree (release, beta, rc, etc.) Branches are typically feature branches Trunk is ongoing development (quick additions, bug fixes, etc.) Now, with that said, I'm curious how everyone is not only handling the naming of their repositories, but also their tags and branches. For example, do you employ a camel case structure for the project name? So, if your project is something like Backyard Baseball for Youngins, how do you handle that? backyardBaseballForYoungins backyard_baseball_for_youngins BackyardBaseballForYoungins backyardbaseballforyoungins That seems rather trivial, but it's a question. If you're going with the feature branch paradigm, how do you name your feature branches? After the feature itself in plain English? Some sort of versioning scheme? I.e. say you want to add functionality to the Backyard Baseball app that allows users to add their own statistics. What would you call your branch? {repoName}/branches/user-add-statistics {repoName}/branches/userAddStatistics {repoName}/branches/user_add_statistics etc. Or: {repoName}/branches/1.1.0.1 If you go the version route, how do you correlate the version numbers? It seems that feature branches wouldn't benefit much from a versioning schema, being that 1 developer could be working on the "user add statistics" functionality, and another developer could be working on the "admin add statistics" functionality. How are these do branch versions named? Are they better off being: {repoName}/branches/1.1.0.1 - user add statistics {repoName}/branches/1.1.0.2 - admin add statistics And once they're merged into the trunk, the trunk might increment appropriately? Tags seem like they'd benefit the most from version numbers. With that being said, how are you correlating the versions for your project (whether it be trunk, branch, tag, etc.) with SVN? I.e. how do you, as the developer, know that 1.1.1 has admin add statistics, and user add statistics functionality? How are these descriptive and linked? It'd make sense for tags to have release notes in each tag since they're immutable. But, yeah, what are your SVN policies going forward?

    I have been trying to get information regarding expired ssl certificates using python 3 but it would be nice to be able to get as verbose a workup as possible. any takers? So far i have been trying to use urllib.request to get this info (to no avail), does this strike anyone as foolish?   • UIpopover is presenting user with a 'done' button that I can't get rid of

    I'm not sure why this is coming up I am porting my app into an ipad version and moving one of my views which happens to be a navigation controller into a uipopover. I did have a uibarbutton item on the view im porting with a "done" button to dismiss the navcontroller but I commented out that code and its still appearing, not sure why. I remember someone mentioning some versions of xcode are wonky with uipopovers anyone know which ones? im using 3.2.3

  • Using sem_t in a Qt Project

    Hi everyone, I'm working on a simulation in Qt (C++), and would like to make use of a Semaphore wrapper class I made for the sem_t type. Although I am including semaphore.h in my wrapper class, running qmake provides the following error: 'sem_t does not name a type' I believe this is a library/linking error, since I can compile the class without problems from the command line. I've read that you can specify external libraries to include during compilation. However, I'm a) not sure how to do this in the project file, and b) not sure which library to include in order to access semaphore.h. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   • msysgit - sh.exe - fork: Permission denied - Vista 64 bit

    I installed msysgit on other Windows machines with no problems. On this Vista 64 bit Ultimate box, I installed the 3 most recent versions of msysgit. On all three installs, when I do a "git bash here", I get exactly this on the command window: sh.exe": fork: Permission denied sh.exe"-3.1$ NThe git command doesn't work. I get the same permission denied message. Any clues as to how to fix this?

    How do I test the changes to the pam.d configuration files: Do I need to restart the PAM service to test the changes? Should I go through every service listed in the /etc/pam.d/ directory? I'm about to make changes to the pam.d/common-* files in an effort to put an Ubuntu box into an active directory controlled network. I'm just learning what to do, so I'm preparing the configuration in a VM, which I plan to deploy in metal in the coming week. It is a clean install of Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 2 server, so other than SSH daemon, all other services are stock.

Based on my understanding I am to convert the number to binary but how do I find the cube of a number in binary. Also, how do I write the cube on the tape. So far I'm thinking I should create a state diagram that accepts the binary versions of 0-9 but what next?
