    i develop a app using struts2, spring 3.1, Jpa2 and Hibernate.   • DirectAccess client can't connect

    I've set up a DirectAccess server on Windows Server 2012 at my workplace. I'm using a Windows 8 Enterprise client to connect to it. It works fine over a mobile connection, but it fails when connecting from home. I've ruled out the firewall/router as the culprit as the issues persist when connecting the laptop directly to the cable modem. I'm not sure where to begin to debug this, does anyone have any pointers? Both Teredo and IPHTTPS interfaces are up (although as the server is behind a NAT and we only have 1 public IP I understand that IPHTTPS is the only protocol that will be used). The IPHTTPS tunnel also seems to be connected: netsh interface httpstunnel show interfaces Interface IPHTTPSInterface (Group Policy) Parameters ------------------------------------------------------------ Role : client URL : https://redacted:443/IPHTTPS Last Error Code : 0x0 Interface Status : IPHTTPS interface active however the DirectAccess link can't be activated - get-daconnectionstatus cycles between Status : Error Substatus : CouldNotContactDirectAccessServer and Status : Error Substatus : RemoteNetworkAuthenticationFailure Any suggestions on how to attack this are appreciated!

  • CertMgr fails trying to import an SPC file

    We have an SPC files which came with the Cisco IP Communicator installer. It needs to be imported into the localMachine ROOT store. However, which the certmgr.exe is run against this SPC file, it errors out. Doesn't matter if it's run from within the installer or manually. The commands I've tried using are: certmgr.exe -add -all CDPcredentials.spc -s -r localMachine root The result displayed is: Error: Failed to save to the destination store CertMgr Failed There is no other information, no log file, nothing in the eventviewer. I's almost as if the ROOT store is in a read-only state. I would also like to point out that I'm able to import single certificates. Just not an SPC files, which contains multiple certificates. I have also tried different versions of the CertMgr utility. Running on Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit. Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Running Windows Server 2008 Standard R2, SQL Server 2008 Enterprise, Team Foundation Server 2010, I installed Sharepoint Server 2010 (single server). It installed correctly, and the wizard configured it without errors. When accessing the sharepoint server through http://localhost/ I get a 404 error. I also get a 404 when trying to access the admin interface on port 42620. Sharepoint, TFS and Reporting services are the only application on my IIS. NOT sharing the same port, so that can't be the error. Do you have any ideas what the problem can be? Is there some way that I can debug this?

    previously we have requested a wildcard ssl certificate from godaddy for our major domain. one of the reasons was the new established exchange server 2010. usually you require following names included in certificiate: FQDN (e.g. mail.whatever.com) Hostname (mail) Domain name (whatever.com) Autodiscover.whatever.com MX Record with the wildcard certificate these are all covered (except of the local hostname). During creation/importing of the ssl certificate into exchange 2010, exchange first asks, if a wildcard certificate is used and then encounters an error - due to the certificate is a wildcard certificate and not a certificate especially generated for the FQDN, SSL for POP and IMAP can not be provided. couldn't find any workaround or solution for this on google, so I hope, maybe some one here has an answer or solution for me! :) the exchange 2010 is running on a windows server 2008 R2 enterprise. thanks in advance and best regards, sise

    After some help diagnosing why Exchange 2010 Enterprise stops responding to SMTP events. I can't find a pattern to it. It doesn't appear to be an actual timeout, as the server responds immediately with the error. To reproduce it I telnet into the server on port 25 and issue a EHLO. The server immediately replies with the 421: 421 4.4.1 Connection timed out Once this starts happening I've found restarting the exchange box is the only reliable way to get it flowing again. Sometimes restarting the Transport service or the mailbox attendant service seems to fix it, but this could be coincidental as it often has no effect.

I was just in the RightFax Enterprise Fax Manager resolving another problem and noticed 2 little red exclamation marks in the lower left hand pane. I have one beside "Available disk space for fax images" and one beside "Available disk space for fax database". Both are labeled with 5%? What is this? How can this be resolved? I have plenty of physical storage left on the server drives so I am curious as to which space it is referring to??

DHCP is setup using the split scope option introduced with 2008 R2, whereby both servers should respond with the first response providing the lease. Setup is as follows: Cod - IP: 192.168.0.231 - Pool: 192.168.0.101 - 192.168.0.179, exclusion for 160-179. - Response Delay: 0ms - Authorised in Active Directory (Re-authorised to confirm) - Windows firewall disabled while testing Lobster - IP: 192.168.0.232 - Pool: 192.168.0.101 - 192.168.0.179, exclusion for 101-159. - Response Delay: 1000ms - Authorised in Active Directory All DHCP leases to clients are currently being issues by Lobster rather than Cod. Packet captures with Wireshark show the following (all to broadcast address): Client - DHCP Discover Lobster - DHCP Offer (after 1s delay) Client - DHCP Request Lobster - DHCP Ack Client - DHCP Inform From my setup with two servers I'd expect to see a DHCP Offer coming from Cod almost immediately after the DHCP Discover. Does anybody have any idea what would prevent the DHCP Server responding to the discover?

I thought at the time that this makes sense; it hides inner workings of NHibernate session from ViewModel. Now, according to Oren Eini (Ayende): http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ee819139.aspx He convinces the audience that NHibernate sessions should be created / disposed when the view associated with the presenter / viewmodel is disposed. He presents issues why you don't want one session per windows app, nor do you want a session to be created / disposed per transaction. This unfortunately poses a problem because my UI can easily have 10+ view/viewmodels present in an app. He is presenting using a MVP strategy, but does his advice translate to MVVM? Does this mean that I should scrap the unit of work and have viewmodel create NHibernate sessions directly? Should a WPF app only have one working session at a time? If that is true, when should I create / dispose a NHibernate session? And I still haven't considered how NHibernate Stateless sessions fit into all this! My brain is going to explode. Please help!

    Way way back (think 20+ years) I encountered a Gomoku game source code in a magazine that I typed in for my computer and had a lot of fun with. The game was difficult to win against, but the core algorithm for the computer AI was really simply and didn't account for a lot of code. I wonder if anyone knows this algorithm and has some links to some source or theory about it. The things I remember was that it basically allocated an array that covered the entire board. Then, whenever I, or it, placed a piece, it would add a number of weights to all locations on the board that the piece would possibly impact. For instance (note that the weights are definitely wrong as I don't remember those): 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 444 1234X4321 3 3 3 2 2 2 1 1 1 Then it simply scanned the array for an open location with the lowest or highest value. Things I'm fuzzy on: Perhaps it had two arrays, one for me and one for itself and there was a min/max weighting? There might've been more to the algorithm, but at its core it was basically an array and weighted numbers Does this ring a bell with anyone at all? Anyone got anything that would help?

    We have installed windows 2008 R2 enterprise on a Dell server. This server is placed remotely in data center and only administrator is going to access it for maintenance purpose. No multiple users or client remote access is needed Now during 'remote desktop services' role installation network admin accidentally selected 'per user/device' licensing mode. Because of which now 120 days free try period is ticking. Since only administrator is going to access this server remotely we need to have 'Remote control for administrators' licensing mode (like windows 2003) on it. How we can change licensing mode from 'per user/device' to 'Remote control for administrators' on 2008 server? Also will it be possible to do this change remotely using RDC session itself? or do i need to change it using physical console (if remote access is gonna be disabled during switch)?

  • Can't install SQL Express 2008R2- caspol.exe application error - the application failed to initialize

    I'm trying to install SQL Server Express 2008 R2 on Windows 2003 Server (enterprise edition). I get the following error message: Title: caspol.exe - Application Error Text: The application failed to initialize properly (0x000007b), Click on OK to terminate the application. I get the same error message both when downloading the installer and running it and when using the web platform installer. All the pages on the internet I've found about similar problem say it's a corrupt .net installation issue - This server runs multiple .net apps and I've never had any problems with any of them. I've uninstalled and reinstalled .net (causing a painful outage) and nothing changed. Does anyone here has any idea what might cause this? Update 1: additional information I forgot to include: 32bit version of Windows running in a virtual machine, no anti virus Update 2: when running caspol.exe from the command line I get the same error

  • How do I use C# and ADO.NET to query an Oracle table with a spatial column of type SDO_GEOMETRY?

    My development machine is running Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit version. I am using Visual Studio 2010 Release Candidate. I am connecting to an Oracle 11g Enterprise server version 11.1.0.7.0. I had a difficult time locating Oracle client software that is made for 64-bit Windows systems and eventually landed here to download what I assume is the proper client connectivity software. I added a reference to "Oracle.DataAccess" which is version 2.111.6.0 (Runtime Version is v2.0.50727). I am targeting .NET CLR version 4.0 since all properties of my VS Solution are defaults and this is 2010 RC. I was then able to write a console application in C# that established connectivity, executed a SELECT statement, and properly returned data when the table in question does NOT contain a spatial column. My problem is that this no longer works when the table I query has a column of type SDO_GEOMETRY in it. Below is the simple console application I am trying to run that reproduces the problem. I don't know if there is some configuration on my machine or the Oracle machine that needs to be done, or if the Oracle client software I have installed is wrong, or old and needs to be updated. There is no problems with the server in its day to day functions but i am getting a Warning in the Event Log every 5 minutes with the following: Windows System Resource Manager encountered the following error 0x80010117. User Name will not be logged in the subsequent event logs. Error 0x80010117 User Action Address the error condition, and then try again. This has been happening for over 2 weeks now and i cannot find anything online to help! If i could have some help, then it would much appreciated. Thanks

    I recently rebuilt my machine to Windows 7 x64, installed Sql Server 2008 enterprise. I can connect fine to other remote instances via Management Studio (be they 2000, 2005 or 2008), but i cannot find my local default instance. I have verified that a directory was created for the default instance C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER I can connect to SQLEXPRESS instance fine I have rerun setup to ensure I have everything installed I have verified that the SQLSERVER(MSSQLSERVER) service is running I have tried brownsing for the instance and see all the others available except my local one I have tried using this for servername: TSOUTHERLANDPC\MSSQLSERVER, the first part being my local machine name My issue is not the same as this post or this post. Any ideas?

    Hello Experts, We have an enterprise web app to which our clients post/upload lots of documents [mainly images and pdf files] via web interface, iphone app etc etc. We are also using imagick to split pdf documents into images. Also, large number of mysql SELECT/UPDATE/DELETE queries happen all day. Currently, all of this is happening on same server and we are planning to split the process in 3 stages : 1) a server only for database 2) a server only for documents (document upload, splitting etc) 3) a server for the main php web app Is there any drawback with this kind of structure as compared to hosting everything on same server ?     I posted on stackoverflow as to the overall benefits of managed hosting vs non-managed hosting. The more I think about it, it seems to boil down to one question: should I use a managed host because they take care of the firewall, or would I be okay managing my own, software firewall? The sites on the box do get quite a lot of traffic but as for throughput and what-not, it's not something I know much about. Ideally, i'd take my sites over to a Linode stack and manage incoming connections using iptables or an alternative. Here are some example hardware solutions a managed host would provide: Cisco Pix 501, Pix 506, Pix 515 and ASA 5505 and ASA 5510 Firewalls, configurable in a control panel the likes of an enterprise firewall such as FortiGate 110C Aside from this, I do not need managed hosting, so I appreciate your suggestions.

ERRORLOG.6; •FDLAUNCHERRORLOG, FDLAUNCHERRORLOG.1, FDLAUNCHERRORLOG.2, ...FDLAUNCHERRORLOG.6; •log_207.trc, log_208.trc, ... My question is what are the differnet function of such log files? And why there are files ends with .1, .2, etc? thanks in advance, George

    I have successfully set up a failover cluster on Microsoft Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition. Now I want to talk to the MSCluster WMI Provider on said server. WMI Queries to e.g. CIMV2 successed. But queries like select * from MSCluster_ResourceGroup where MSCluster_ResourceGroup.Name=\"testserver\" fail with "Access denied". I am using a domain admin account. Do I have to enable the MSCluster WMI Provider? What am I missing?

  • Reconfigure RAID on Dell PowerEdge T710

    I have a Dell PowerEdge T710 under my feet at this very moment, with RedHat Enterprise Server 5.3. I have 6 1TB disks and two 500GB. parted reports two devices, one 500 GB and the other 4 TB. So I assume the RAID has been setup as mirror for two disks, and I assume as RAID 5 the remaining ones. I say "I assume" because it does not make sense. Having 6 disks in RAID 5, I should obtain a total space of 5 TB, not 4TB. It's not even RAID 10: I would end up with a 3 TB unit. How can I check and eventually modify the RAID array definition? In the Fujitsu Siemens I played with some time ago, at boot I had the chance to enter the controller BIOS, but here I don't see a clear way to perform this operation.
