• dvi generation: no bounding box

  Hi, I wrote a research paper in latex and generated pdf using kile. It worked perfectly well. Now conference people are asking for dvi file also. But Kile's quick build process does not give a dvi file, but its 'Latex' compile process does. So I tried to compile the document, and it gave errors for includegraphics saying figure not found. When I append the correct extensions to the image names, that errors stopped coming but new errors came "bounding box is missing". I added bounding box values and now DVI file is being generated. My questions are: I have tried giving very high and low bounding box values but there is no deformation in the PDF. Why? Can I generate a DVI without giving bounding box values? • Perform Grouping of Resultset in Code

  Stackoverflowers, I have a resultset from a SQL query in the form of: Category Column2 Column3 A 2 3.50 A 3 2 B 3 2 B 1 5 ... I need to group the resultset based on the Category column and sum the values for Column2 and Column3. I have to do it in code because I cannot perform the grouping in the SQL query that gets the data due to the complexity of the query (long story). This grouped data will then be displayed in a table. I have it working for specific set of values in the Category column, but I would like a solution that would handle any possible values that appear in the Category column. I know there has to be a straightforward, efficient way to do it but I cannot wrap my head around it right now. How would you accomplish it?

• flex checkbox value not selected from database

  Hi, I have a small flex datagrid. The dataProvider is an xmlList. I have two columns, userList and user permissions. The user permissions column as checkboxes. The values for the checkbox are stored as 0 and 1 in mySQL. While returning it from PHP, I am converting them to true or false. Its returning the values correctly to the frontend. But inside the itemrenderer, the checkbox is not being set to true or false. Either everything is true or everything is false. • How would you parse the location text from Twitter to get the latitude/longitude in Objective-C?

  The location text from Twitter could be just about anything. Sometimes Twitter clients set the location with the user's latitude and longitude in the following format. "\U00dcT: 43.05948,-87.908409" Since there is no built-in support for Regular Expressions in Objective-C I am considering using the NSString functions like rangeOfString to pull the float values out of this string. For my current purpose I know the values with start with 43 and 87 so I can key off those values this time but I would prefer to do better than that. What would you do to parse the latitude/longitude from this string?

  I know we can open a particular worksheet of MS Excel using C# by providing the sheet number (1,2,3..) or name (sheet1, sheet2, sheet3...) I have a excel file which has 2 sheets, 1. Values, 2. Results Is there a way to open a sheet giving the sheet name ,i.e, "Values" instead of 1 or [s|S]heet1 in C# ?? I looked thru the old posts but didnt find anything useful... so again, what I am trying to do is, open a Excel worksheet by using its user defined name (Values) instead of the system defined name(1 or [s|S]heet1) any inputs would be greatly appreciated!

• Using Google Weather API with Lat and Lon - how to format?

  I am wanting to use the Google Weather API - by passing lat and long values. However it seems Google is needing these formatted differently to the values I have stored. i.e. For the town of McTavish I have values of 45.5 and -73.583 This works here: http://api.wunderground.com/auto/wui/geo/WXCurrentObXML/index.xml?query=45.5,-73.583 But when I use Google it does not: See: www.google.com/ig/api?weather=,,,45.5,-73.583 Any help appreciated. I would prefer to use the Google Data.

  my view generates keys in this format ["job_id:1234567890", 1271430291000] where the first key element is a unique key and the second is a timestamp in milliseconds.   Hi All, i am getting a weird problem. i am using OLEDB for excel connection with connection string = Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=c:\Execute.xls;Extended Properties=Excel 8.0;"); excel file contains columns with string/integer values. the problem is that sometimes connection read values from sheet absolutly fine but sometimes it missed out some data values and shows them as System.DBNull. the behavior is very inconsistent. please help.

• SOS: AudioFormat when writing to file in FreeTTS

  Very annoying problem. I have developed a freeTTS application of the freetts class that write captured audio to file however I am having some very annoying problems. When setting the audio player to singlefileaudio player I try to also set the audioformat with my own default values for sampleRate, sampleSizeInBits, channels, signed and bigEndian. Now I access AudioPlayer.get methods to show these values in runtime just to ensure they are set to what I set them and they match those values. However when file writing completes and I check the properties of the resulting wave file, they are set to the audioPlayer default settings. Normally this will be fine except I have to read the files into another application which has fixed audio property settings so I always get a resulting output that sounds like am fast forwarding the sound and listening to it at the same time. Obviously because of the different sampling rates. I need help please. Thanx, Henry

• Numpy modify array in place?

  I have the following code which is attempting to normalize the values of an m x n array (It will be used as input to a neural network, where m is the number of training examples and n is the number of features). However, when I inspect the array in the interpreter after the script runs, I see that the values are not normalized; that is, they still have the original values. I guess this is because the assignment to the array variable inside the function is only seen within the function. How can I do this normalization in place? • jQuery - want to get input value for submit but it gets one and repeats

  I'm trying to replace all submit buttons with a span so cufon will work. The input still needs to be there so have done some css to hide it and overlay to span on top. My issue is getting the value from the input tag is proving quite diffcult. The code below gets the first input value (being 'search' from the search box at the top of the page, and then puts that value into all the spans, even for buttons that have different values (eg: send). This is a .NET page so the whole page is wrapped in one form tag. • How different protocols interact with eachother in Twisted

  The scenario I want two different protocols interact with each other is as below: A and B is two different protocols. First A will interact with the server and retrieve some values. Only after A finishes retrieving the values , B will start to interact with the server. Now my problem is that is there an elegant way to initial B when A retrieves the values. Currently I just initial B in A's data process function. But i don't think that this is an elegant way. What I mean an elegant way is that the initialization of B is done by a flow controller or something like that, but not another protocol. Is there an elegant way? such using defered or any other things. I'm just new to twisted, not knowing very much about defered.... Thank you very much!

  I have the following table, which is used for storing bandings. The table is maintained via a web frontend. I want to get to a position where I can use the operators values stored in the table in a case statement in a where clause. Like this. SELECT * FROM table WHERE CASE ValueLowerLimitOperator WHEN '<' THEN VALUE < X WHEN '>' THEN VALUE > X END rather than having to write mutiple case or if statements for each permutation. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can decode the operators values stored in the table as part of my query and then use them in a case/where statement?

• Is there a web site where I can paste a SQL Insert statement and have it break it out by column?

  I've been working on an application that has no discernable data access layer, so all the SQL statements are just built up as strings and executed. I'm constantly confronted by very long INSERT statements where I'm trying to figure out what value in the VALUES list matches up with what column in the column name list. I was about to create a little helper application where I could paste in an INSERT statement and have it show me a list of values matched up with the column names, just for debugging, and I thought, "someone else has probably done this already." Does anyone know of a web site where I can just paste in an INSERT statement and have it show me a two column table with column names in the first column and values in the second column?

• Override bits of a CSS class while inline?

  I have an html img that is being styled by a CSS class. I would like to override the width and height values used in that class under some circumstances. I'm building this img tag using something called a TagBuilder class, provided by Microsoft for the .Net system, which allows developers to assign attributes to an html element. In this case a CSS class has been assigned to the img tag, and I can assign width and height attributes individually, but they're not taking precedence over the values set in the CSS class. My tag looks like this currently: <img alt="my link" class="static" height="240" id="StaticImage" src="http://imageserver.com/myImage.jpg" width="240"> The static CSS class has width and height values of 300 each, and as you can see I'm trying to override them with 240. It's not working in this instance but can I do it without a second CSS class?

Then after spliting values each value I get contains extra space character after each character in String. Suppose value in file is like "ABC" and I got this after reading from CSV file reader as " A B C " . I used removeAll("\s+","") on each value even after it is not working. Thank You in Advance.

• Which data structure for List of objects + datagrid wiev

  Hi, I have to develop a code which will store a list of objects, as example below 101, value 11, value 12, value 13 ...etc 102, value 21, value 22, value 23 ...etc 103, value 31, value 32, value 33 ...etc 104, value 41, value 42, value 43 ...etc Now, the difficulty is, that first column is an identifier, and whole table should always be sorted by it. Easy access to each element is required. Additionally, list should be easily updated, and extended by adding element at the end as well as in front and still keep being sorted by first column. Finally, I would like to be able to display values of the above in datagridview. What is most important is a performance of the implementation, as rows will be updated many times per second, and datagridview should be able to display all changes immediately. I was thinking about creating class for the values, and then a Dictionary but encountered a problem with displaying values in gridview. What would be the most optimal way of implementing the code?   I am looking to create n-grams from text column in PostgreSQL. I currently split(on white-space) data(sentences) in a text column to an array. select regexp_split_to_array(sentenceData,E'\s+') from tableName Once I have this array, how do I go about: Creating a loop to find n-grams, and write each to a row in another table Using unnest I can obtain all the elements of all the arrays on separate rows, and maybe I can then think of a way to get n-grams from a single column, but I'd loose the sentence boundaries which I wise to preserve.
