• help with installing clamav for remote apache server vs WAMP localserver

  Hey guys, I have never installed an extension before so I am not really sure where to start. I want to do 2 things: install clamav virus scanner http://sourceforge.net/projects/php-clamav/ on my remote server which is a linux apache setup using cpanel as a gui. install clamav on my localserver on my home computer which operates on windows and has WAMP server installed for server-side activity What is the difference between the two installation methods? What is required for each installation? If anyone can point me in the right direction in any way, I would really appreciate it. Even if it is just an article or tutorial on how to get started.

• Stored Procedure or calculations via IQueryable?

  This is a question that is based on choosing performance over design practices. If I have a method that will be executed many times a second; public static IQueryable<IPerson> InRadius(this IQueryable<IPerson> query, Coordinate center, double radius) { return (from u in query where CallHeavyMathFormula(u, center, radius) select u); } This extension method for IQueryable generates a SQL that does some heavy maths calculation (Cosine, Sine, etc). This would mean the application sends 1-2KB of sql to the server per call. I've heard of placing all application logic, in your application. I also would like to change to a database such as azure or one of those scalable databases in the future. How do I handle something like this? Should I leave it as it is now or write stored procedures? How do applications like twitter or facebook do it?

• Losing scope for DataContex using LINQToSQL intermediately

  I am having a weird Situation with my DataConext. All My code is in C# I have a DLL project for my data access layer and business Layer which and Winforms project for my UI layer. My Data access Layer's Namespace is xxx.Data this is where have my xxx.dbml I also have xxx.Data.BusinessObjects name space of course for my business object in that project In my UI Layer I have these namespaces xxxApp(for Forms), xxxApp.Controls (For Controls) I have lost scope of the DataContext, it was accessible now when I do a Rebuild Solution I sometimes get compile errors saying for example: Error 34 'xxx.Data.xxxDataContext' does not contain a definition for 'SubmitChanges' and no extension method 'SubmitChanges' accepting a first argument of type 'xxx.Data.xxxDataContext' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Also intelisense doesn't recognize the methods and table classes from my xxxDataContext anymore I can access all object fine when I am in the DLL project but now in the Winforms project this is very strange. If anyone can help me out I would be extremely grateful!

• Getting .NET schema for a stored procedure result

  I have a couple of stored procedures in T-SQL where each stored procedure has a fixed schema for the result set. I need to map the result sets for each procedure to a POCO object and need the column name and type for each column in the result set. Is there a quick way of accessing the information? The best way I have found so far is accessing each stored procedure from .NET and writing my own extension method on a IDataReader/IDataRecord for dumping the information (column names and types) out. Example, a stored procedure executing the following query: SELECT Id, IntField, NullableIntField, VarcharField, DateField FROM SomeTable would require me to have the mapping information: Id - Guid IntField - System.Int32 NullableIntField - Nullable<System.Int32> VarcharField - String DateField - DateTime

• How to write syntax highlighting? c++

  Hi All, I am embarking on some learning and I want to write my own syntax highlighting for files in C++. Can anyone give me ideas on how to go about doing this? To me it seems that when a file is opened: 1. it would need to be parsed and decided what type of source file it is. Trusting the extension might not be full-proof a way to know what keywords/commands apply to what language a way to decide what color each keyword/command gets I want to do this on OS X, C++ or Objective-C Can anyone provide pointers on how I might get started with this?

  I'm trying to use CFBundleDocumentTypes to associate a custom file extension with my application. As far as I can tell, this seems to "work" -- JavaApplicationStub launches my application when I double click the file. However, no callback is registered through the ApplicationListener events I setup in java. I used the code listed in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1460193/set-default-file-association-mac-os-x-java-package-maker-installer to do the file association, and the file association itself appears fine, but it seems as if it is the application stub trying to launch the file, and thus fails. I added the Apple ApplicatinListener code to my java application at (similar to http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Java/Reference/1.5.0/appledoc/api/index.html?com/apple/eawt/Application.html) but it doesn't seem like my application ever gets a call back. the code is similar to Application.getApplicatin().addApplicationListener( new ApplicationAdapter() { public void handleOpenFile(ApplicationEvent evt) { //some logging message here that I never get} }); I should perhaps mention that I'm also using SWT... Any help would be appreciated

• TFS: How do I view .cs files in the VS IDE when viewing details of a shelveset?

  For our code review process we open the details of a shelveset to see all files that have been worked on. Right clicking and choosing "Compare" works great for existing ( modified ) files. But, when a file has been added I just want to view the file. Double clicking ( or right click - view ) opens .cs ( and .sql )files in notepad. When I try to open a .PRC file ( extension for our stored procedures ) I get a prompt that allows me to choose what program to use for viewing. Does anyone know how to get this prompt to show up for .cs files ( and all other files, for that matter ) Thanks! • How to see functions implemented in R packages

  How do I see the actual code for the functions implemented in R packaged. For instance I have loaded the caret package and I would like to see the code used for the function "createMultiFolds". I have gone to where the packages are stored but can't seem to find what I am looking for. For instance folders like Meta in the root folder of the caret package have files with the .rds extension which I can read into R with the gzfile command but I can't still seem to find what I am looking for i.e. the exact for the functions e.g. creatMultifolds. I would like to adapt some of these functions specifically to my research needs by make small changes to the codes to output the results in the way that I want without having to "re-invent the wheel" I will be glad if someone can help me.   Hi I have several domains, only one website and one databse table for each domain. example: wbesite.us - data from USA goes to database table main_usa wbesite.co.uk - data form UK goes to database table main_uk Only have one database with name of the website. Having only one website structured, and having variables like $sql="select * from main_".$countrycode." where bla..bla..., and many other variables to catch the domain extension, and so on... Now, instead of having one full website for each domain, how can set a script and wher do I put it in order to detect the domain that the user uses. In my server root do I create something like website.$domain ? Something like website OLX but for different purposes. I hope I made myself clear. Thank you.

However I need a way in code to check the extension of the file, and display the correct Image and xsl:attribute depending on the If statement. So the If statement will be like this:- If correctedPath.ToLower.Contains(".doc") Then //display the word icon and attributes Else //display the excel icon and attributes End If Can you please give me some tips and help on how I can achieve this?   Hi, I have an application where I am doing connection with .mdb file. Here are the steps we are following : Creating object for database utils inteface Calling the connect() function, to get connected to the database whose extension is .mdb file Above flow is working correct on all windows platform but not on windows server 2008 CORE 32-bit. I also checked whether the ODBC drivers are installed or not, by opening regedit. I found that all drivers specially Microsoft access driver (*.mdb) is installed. ANd I think it is by default get installed while installing OS. Is anyone aware of any thing about ODBC drivers and connectivity to the database (like .mdb) on windows 2008 CORE ( which runs only on command line and no interface)

• How we run a .NET 32-bit application in a 64-bit Windows server?

  We are installing a third party application in one of our 64-bit Windows servers. This application apparently was build with the compiler option set to choose the platform at run time. When we run the application it gives us an error: System.BadImageFormatException: is not a valid Win32 application. I have seen in MSDN forums that in order to fix this error I have to build the application set to 32-bit, and that way it will run fine on a 64-bit server. I check on other StackOverflow links Other Posts. How to get around this situation? For everyone that wants to know more information: The application is running fine in a 32-bit test server. IIS version 6 using SQL Server Express 2005 On the Web Service Extension there are both Framework64\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll and Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll

• Rails - Paperclip, getting width and height of image in model

  Trying to get the width and height of the uploaded image while still in the model on the initial save. Any way to do this? Here's the snippet of code I've been testing with from my model. Of course it fails on "instance.photo_width". has_attached_file :photo, :styles => { :original => "634x471>", :thumb => Proc.new { |instance| ratio = instance.photo_width/instance.photo_height min_width = 142 min_height = 119 if ratio > 1 final_height = min_height final_width = final_height * ratio else final_width = min_width final_height = final_width * ratio end "#{final_width}x#{final_height}" } }, :storage => :s3, :s3_credentials => "#{RAILS_ROOT}/config/s3.yml", :path => ":attachment/:id/:style.:extension", :bucket => 'foo_bucket' So I'm basically trying to do this to get a custom thumbnail width and height based on the initial image dimensions. Any ideas?

  Using the variables extension, I want to change the background color of a cell in a table. So far I've done this: {{#vardefine:green|<span style="background:Green; color:White">text</span>}} The problem is that, when I add {{#var:green}} to the cell, only the text itself has a green background. Ideally, I want the whole cell to have a background color, like it does if I use this: | bgcolor="#ff00ff" | test or this | style="background:silver" |silver in the cell. Does anyone know how to solve this?

  I am working on a Flask extension that adds CouchDB support to Flask. To make it easier, I have subclassed couchdb.mapping.Document so the store and load methods can use the current thread-local database. Right now, my code looks like this: class Document(mapping.Document): # rest of the methods omitted for brevity @classmethod def load(cls, id, db=None): return mapping.Document.load(cls, db or g.couch, id) I left out some for brevity, but that's the important part. However, due to the way classmethod works, when I try to call this method, I receive the error message File "flaskext/couchdb.py", line 187, in load return mapping.Document.load(cls, db or g.couch, id) TypeError: load() takes exactly 3 arguments (4 given) I tested replacing the call with mapping.Document.load.im_func(cls, db or g.couch, id), and it works, but I'm not particularly happy about accessing the internal im_ attributes (even though they are documented). Does anyone have a more elegant way to handle this?

  Hi, I'm trying to install pixelpost on an Apache server on windows. The installer is failing because: Pixelpost will not run if your PHP installation is not compiled with the GD graphics library. I've added the following line to php.ini extension=php_gd2.dll But I still get the same error message. When I run phpinfo() I don't see any reference to GD, so I guess it really isn't installed. I searched for php_gd2.dll and it's in the ext subfolder of my PHP root dir. I know nothing about PHP, so be gentle with me. Thanks, Don

The problem is that it seems that ant is always calling an XSLT 1.0 parser.   We were trying to run fllowing code in rake file: directory "tmp" file "hello.tmp" => "tmp" do sh "echo 'Hello' >> 'tmp/hello.tmp'" end We have taken this code from http://jasonseifer.com/2010/04/06/rake-tutorial But, since we are working on windows commands like'sh','echo' wont work.. according to the explanation given for the above code, it should first create a directory 'tmp' and then create a file 'hello.tmp' which will have 'hello' as its text.. Firstly, how can we do this for windows? and Secondly, a file with extension '.tmp' sounds quite wierd.. what does 'hello.tmp' specifies? Does it simply mean that 'hello.tmp' is a text file in 'tmp' directory?

I am looking for an expression to turn that file into something like this... Then I need to capture each URL and put them on their own line with the leading capture. I am working with sed to do this and I cannot figure out how to make it work correctly. Any ideas?

  I am currently working on kerberoes, and for now have this doubt on PAC in MS-KILE kerberoes extension. Can pac included in pactype strcuture withtin authorization data, is meant for client to decrypt and decode. It seems (if my understanding is correct), that PAC is encrypted with target server's encryption key, which is known only to kdc and target server, and therefore, client just needs to forward that to server when requesting a service, and isn't suppose to decrypt and extract details about its credentails. Is there a way to try to decrypt this on the fly? ( is there sufficient information available in AS-REP for me extract and decrypt this?

Now I need it to give the xml back to me as a string (rather than save it to a file). I am looking into it, but I have not figured it out yet. I thought this might be really easy for someone familiar with these objects. If not I will figure it out eventually.
