• Java, filling arrays, and inheritance

  Hi folks, I think I'm running into an inheritance conceptual wall with my Java arrays. I'm kind of new to Java so please tell me if I have things upside down. In essence, I want to do three things: Create a runnersArray with the attributes of my Runners class. Fill my runnersArray using my GenerateObjects method of my GenerateObjects class. Access the contents of my filled runnersArray in my Evaluating method of my Evaluating class. The problem seems to be that runnersArray is not visible to the methods in steps 2 and 3 above, but their classes (due to design reasons) cannot inherit or extend Runners class. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. • How can I "best fit" an arbitrary cairo (pycairo) path?

  It seems like given the information in stroke_extents() and the translate(x, y) and scale(x, y) functions, I should be able to take any arbitrary cairo (I'm using pycairo) path and "best fit" it. In other words, center it and expand it to fill the available space. Before drawing the path, I have scaled the canvas such that the origin is the lower left corner, up is y+, right is x+, and the height and width are both 1. Given these conditions, this code seems to correctly scale the path: # cr is the canvas extents = cr.stroke_extents() x_size = abs(extents[0]) + abs(extents[2]) y_size = abs(extents[1]) + abs(extents[3]) cr.scale(1.0 / x_size, 1.0 / y_size) I cannot for the life of me figure out the translating though. Is there a simpler approach? How can I "best fit" a cairo path on its canvas? Please ask for clarification if anything is unclear in this question.

• using a texture mesh and wireframe mesh in threejs

  I'm trying to draw a wireframe mesh and a textured mesh in threeJS but when I have both added to my scene the textured mesh doesn't display. Code below: I'm having trouble creating two meshes that share the same geometry where one of the materials is wireframe and the other is a texture. If one of the materials is wireframe and the other is just a color fill it works fine- but as soon as I make the second material a texture it stops working. • Postcode and radius lookup recommendations

  I look after a number of divisional websites for a uk based membership organisation and what we want to do is provide, as well as other address functions, is a closest member lookup to a web user from the websites themselves. A few use cases that I want to fill: Case 1: The user puts in their post code and wants to see all the members in a 5/10/15/20/30/40 mile radius from them Case 2: The member puts in an area (city, county, etc.) and gets a list of members in that area. Essentially what I'm looking for is a programmable API which I can code against to do: post code lookup and returns addresses (after picking house number for example). search post code + radius (5miles, 10miles etc) and get a set of applicable post codes to then join onto the membership records in the database Any recommendations? It can be a quarterly update install on the server, it can be a queryable web service. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance

• django generic view update/create: update works but create raises IntegrityError

  I'm using CreateView and UpdateView directely into urls.py of my application whose name is dydict. In the file forms.py I'm using ModelForm and I'm exluding a couple of fields from being shown, some of which sould be set when either creating or updating. So, as mentioned in the title, update part works but create part doesn't which is obvious because required fields that I have exluded are sent empty which is not allowed in my case. So the question here is, how should I do to fill exluded fields into the file forms.py so that I don't have to override CreateView? Thanks in advance.

• run windows command from bash with output to standard out?

  Folks, I'm using git tools such as git bisect run which need to call a command to build and test my project. My command to do is nant which is a windows program. Or a build.cmd script which calls nant. It's easy to get the bash to call the nant build to run. But the hard part is how to get the standard output written to a file? I even installed the Windows PowerShell to try running a command from bash. Again, it works but the standard output fill says "permission denied" when I try to read it while the build is going on.

  I would like to have a TextBox that supports AutoComplete and lets users type multiple words separated by a comma or semicolon, offering suggestions for each word. I have a standard TextBox with textBox.AutoCompleteCustomSource.AddRange(new[] { "apple", "banana", "carrot" }); textBox.AutoCompleteMode = AutoCompleteMode.SuggestAppend; textBox.AutoCompleteSource = AutoCompleteSource.CustomSource; Unfortunately it will only suggest for the first word. Anything typed after that and it stops suggesting. I want to be able to perform the following scenario: Type "ap" Have it suggest "apple" Press the comma Have it fill in "apple," with the cursor after the comma Type "ba" Have it suggest "banana" Press the comma Have it append "banana," resulting in "apple,banana," I've tried Googling for a solution, but haven't had much luck. This seems to be a popular feature for web apps, but apparently not for winforms. Any suggestions?

• Linq to xml not able to add new elements

  We save our xml in a "text" field in the database. So first I check if it exist any xml, if not I create a new xdocument, fill it with the necessary xml. else i just add the new element. • Java Swing: how to add an image to a JPanel ?

  I have a JPanel to which I'd like to add JPEG and PNG images that I generate on the fly. All the examples I've seen so far in the Swing Tutorials, specially in the Swing examples use ImageIcons. I'm generating these images as byte arrays, and they are usually larger than the common icon they use in the examples, at 640x480. Is there any (performance or other) problem in using the ImageIcon class to display an image that size in a JPanel ? What's the usual way of doing it ? How to add an image to a JPanel without using the ImageIcon class ? Edit: A more careful examination of the tutorials and the API shows that you cannot add an ImageIcon directly to a JPanel. Instead, they achieve the same effect by setting the image as an icon of a JLabel. This just doesn't fill right...

  When inserting a large number of rows into a single table hash cluster in Oracle, it will fill up the block with any values that hash to that hash-value and then start using overflow blocks. These overflow blocks are listed as chained off the main block, but I can not find detailed information on the way in which they are allocated or chained. When an overflow block is allocated for a hash value, is that block exclusively allocated to that hash value, or are the overflow blocks used as a pool and different hash values can then start using the same overflow block. How is the free space of the chain monitored - in that, as data is continued to be inserted, does it have to traverse the entire chain to find out if it has some free space in the current overflow chain, and then if it finds none, it then chooses to allocate a new block?

  Hi there, Is there anyway, using google analytics, to track a user's journey/selections through a long form so I can see where they drop off? I've created a 'contact us' form which starts with drop down menu which requires the user to make a choice i.e. apply for job, apply for funding etc. and then each option requires the user to fill out a form, which is completed over serval steps. Is there a way to track a user's individual form choices from their initial selection on the Contact Us page through to the form being submitted? That way I could see where in the form journey the users are dropping off.

  Hi all, I'm writing a Excel class using Microsoft.Interropt.Excel DLL. I finish all function but I have an error in my Destructor. I Want to save all changes to my file and I want to release all source. I want to all of them in my destructor. But In my destructor, Excel.ApplicationClass, Workbook and Worksheet objects are fill by an Exception which have message "COM object that has been separated from its underlying RCW cannot be used." So I can't save nothing, close nothing because i can't access workbook or worksheet object. Can't I access the class private members in Destructor?

I'm trying to use heredoc syntax to fill in the email body, however, the closing tag doesn't seem to be recognized. $this->email = new Email(); $this->email->from = 'Automated Email'; $this->email->to = '[email protected]'; $this->email->subject = 'A new user has registered'; $this->email->body = <<<EOF Hello, a new user has registered.   I'm on my first approach with photoshop patterns.I'm buildin a webpage where I want to use my pattern to give a nice effect to my webpage background. The pattern I found is 120x120 px If I was done here I should use this css: background-imag:url(mypattern.jpg); background-repeat:repeat; But Im not done.Id like to *add to my page's background a linear gradient(dir=top/down col=light-blue/green) with the pattern fill layer on top of it, with blending mode=darken *. This is the final effect: I come to the point. QUESTION: Combining linear vertical-gradient effect and my 120x120 pattern is it possible to find a pattern that I could use to repeat itself endlessly both vertical and horizontal??which is a common solution in this case?   I need to auto insert the next orders_id into an Orders table in a database. orders_id is not the primary Key, and it does not auto-increment I need to query the database, find the last (highest) id value, increment 1, and insert it in Orders table in database. Actually, I have a shipping action which will provide address of shipping of orders. So as soon as the user fills address form and move to payments page, I want to simultaneously fill my Orders table by max(orders_id)+1. I have built relations between Address table and Orders table but my orders Table is not getting populated. Please detail me correct codes to implement it in my controller in Yii

  I'm working with a C++ library that stores image byte data in an array of unsigned characters. My jni function returns a jByteArray (which then gets converted to a BufferedImage on the java side), but I'm not sure how to fill the jByteArray from the unsigned character array (if it is possible). Can anyone provide a snippet for this last part to basically do this: // size is the size of the unsigned char array const int size = 100; unsigned char* buf = new unsigned char[size]; // buf gets passed to another library here to be populated jbyteArray bArray = env->NewByteArray(size); // now how do I get the data from buf to bArray?
