  • How to find "\r" in a conditional?

    Hi, in a C++ program some string reads info from file, and in some part contains a "\r" character. I need to remove it, afte the read, in order to avoid problems. I thought about comparing strings character to character, I thought that "\r" would take two chars, but not, it is just one. how would i use a conditional ? if char[4]==`\r' ??? Thanks P.D.     I have a complex XSD schema and hundreds of XML files conforming to the schema. How do I automate the creation of related SQL Server tables to store the XML data? I've considered creating C# classes from the XSD schema using the xsd.exe tool and letting something like Subsonic figure out how to make a shiny database out of it, but not sure if it's the best way to approach it. Has anyone managed to elegantly import XSD files into SQL Server?

  • For a Chemical Equation Balancer App (Android), how do I count the number of atoms of each element in each term?

    This is my app: If someone enters "C6H12O6+O2=CO2+H2O", then I have already written code to split the equation into terms, so in an ArrayList called rterms I have the strings: C6H12O6 CO2 and in another ArrayList called pterms, I have: CO2 H2O I need to count the number of C's in each term of the reactants, so 6 for term 1, 0 for term 2, and then the H's and then O's. How would I do this? Any help is appreciated.

Interpreted languages like PHP or Ruby have the advantage that the configuration is just code that is executed. In .net, doing stuff in code requires a redeployment, which defeats the purpose. Now, before I build my own web.config replacement based on Boo or PowerShell I wanted to know if there is an existing one?

    Hi folks, I'm currently using os.popen() but have been recommended to use subprocess.popen() instead. Any ideas on how I can integrate this? It would be cool and fun to have a Python shell accessible on a Django app. But I reckon that it might be a bit complex to implement. I guess I would have to retrieve the subprocess, as a new request comes in. Any ideas?

Both temp tables are 3300 items long. The inner select executes in under a second. All strings are nvarchar(249). All IDs are int. Any ideas? I executed it (it's in a stored proc) for over 12 minutes without it finishing.

These all work: 1) Rename attributes (with renaming identifier specified) 2) Add attributes 3) Add new entity + new attribute + inverse relationship to an already existing entity 4) remove existing entity + relationships to that entity = It almost looks like just about anything can be handled with LM. Did I miss something? In which cases am I getting into trouble and need an some more complex approach?

Is there any way to fetch the data as its datatype stored in the table? The application will be querying many different queries so I will be unable to cast the values as the intended datatype on a 1 by 1 basis.

    Say you had a timestamp function and then wanted to create a new function to combine your timestamp and Console.WriteLine(), e.g. public static void Write(string msg) { WriteTimeStamp(); Console.WriteLine( msg ); } But the WriteLine() method has 18 or so overloads, which will not be reflected in the signature of the wrapper function. How would you have the wrapper take non-strings and pass them on to WriteLine()?

The function should, given a node, return the node itself or any of its children such that the probability of choosing a node is normally distributed relative to its depth (so the function should return mostly middle nodes, but sometimes the root itself or the lowest ones - but that's not really necessary if that makes it significantly more complex, if all any node is chosen with equal probability, that's good enough).
